  • one of the best and least "klunky" jazz piano duets ever. what a nice rythmic feel!

  • that was a great song wen he played it in mawazine festival in rabat last year , i really feel like attending mawazine again this year ; god bless morocco

  • I can't help but come back to this time and time again, it's just so much fun to watch.

  • Teacher and Student together...phenomenal!

  • I didn't get a lesson. He basically told me to go fly a kite. but thanks.

  • What a dynamic performance and an inspiring contribution to the continuance of musical tradition!

  • Harry is SO incredibly talented ! I *hate* to see how he's had to sell out to make money from the musically-ignorant American public. Covering "All of me" and "And I Love Her"... Gads. That's SO beneath him... But, it makes money. *sigh*

  • @JoshuaTaylor Exactly!! Too bad isn't it??? I just watched a great video about his life with Brandford and such and I love what Brandford has to say about Harry singing haha.

The man is a monster musician, I LOVE his orchestrations and his musicianship.

Phenomenal artist. Much more than a crooner.

  • wow...thank you for the share oribonbon

  • Fuck...this is so Jazz \o/

  • All I can say is wow! Love both of these amazing musicians!

  • Love this!

  • Harry can play the hell outta a piano..so talented and gorgeous..love him.

  • Such an amazing and mind-blowing performance ... and I never even really cared for jazz! Have changed my mind!

  • I hear Monk in Harry.Bud Powell and Hank Jones in Ellis...oh everybody...a couple of badass interesting piano players....great duet

  • this amazing track with two great artists

  • When Harry C. Jr. was a child, he met Ellis Marsalis and later studied under him. Harry said the following, " Ellis-in very subtle ways-is a very stern taskmaster...The work ethic and the fear that he puts into you-and it's literally fear-to be the very best that you can be sticks with you. That's why I write as much as I write and work as hard as I work. I couldn't go to sleep at night saying, you know what, I didn't do as well as I could do today... Ellis prepared me to play with the pros..."

  • Harry's left hand at 4:53...yeah!

  • That's like an Oscar Peterson matchup with soul.

  • the first latin jazz standar

  • love this track with ellis and harry see harry many times live

  • He's like Van Cliburn with soul & mojo

  • Time may show us that Harry Connick Jr was the greatest entertainer of our era. Musician, vocalist, actor, hell he is even a good dancer........plus a gorgeous wife and beautiful and talented daughters....I think I hate him....haha....great great great is all I can say

  • @operhoot ... $#@!, ... I didn't know he was straight. I thought that whole thing about shtoopin' Will's fag hag was a big ole act. I'm bummed :(

  • @operhoot and he's damn funny - saw him last year - what a guy

  • Symphony for my ears!

  • Connick is pop..................

  • I'll take pop with such talent any time!

Ellis Marsalis is THE piano man, his sons are some of the greatest trumpet and saxophone players and Harry himself is an incredibly accomplished musician, have you heard his own arrangements with his big band?? it's to die for

  • is it just me or does this remind anyone of chick corea with gonzalo rubalcaba doin spain.

  • wow, the first thing i thought of when i heard this was Chick Corea's My spanish Heart

  • Ether way you look at it, what you just said is a huge compliment.

    I really dig this.

  • and of COURSE they are plauing STEINWAY (love love love)

  • amazing. You could see Harry starting to struggle a bit when his competitive side kicked in. There are very few people who can even line up with harry, let alone out play him. And Ellis isn't the youngest man

  • no. He didn't know anything about me. We lived WAY out in the country in Mississippi.

Harry's dad was the district attorney for the city of new orleans if I'm not mistaken. ellis knew him from a tyke. Ellis is amazing; the kids rock and Harry has the same magic. plus they practiced a LOT.

  • that was beautiful. I called ellis once to get a lesson

  • and did you get a hold of him? did you get the lesson? cuz that would be amazing!!

  • although i realise the innate stupidity of doing so, i would cut my right hand off for a lesson with ellis marallis

  • @rvbarnesboy Lucky Man
