  • Awww, Peter looks so teary during Two. :(

  • the best. ever. hands down.

  • LOL the keyboard player looks like Jonny Greenwood xD

  • @jer1ndie Yeah, and get a load of Phil Selway on drums haha

  • Looks like this is the same type of a guitar which Thom Yorke use in a new TKOL From The Basement video!

  • what cool guys

  • The Black Cat is such a fantastic venue

  • The keyboard player reminds me of Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead.

  • @jusdpoisson Yeah, it's the hair and he's doing 30 things at once, he just needs a lemon to shake : )

  • I would have done just about anything to go to this

  • @hilerc they're on tour now! if you live around DC, they'll be at the black cat again in either april or may. check 'em out :-)

  • Does anyone know what kind of electric piano that is?? I can't figure it out

  • @kjRockintheMusic

An (old) Fender Rhodes, with on top a Micro Korg, (nowadays he uses also a Minimoog on a seperate stand). Beneath the rhodes, on the floor is a Roland PK5 "Bass Pedals".

  • This is what real music sounds like. Passionate lyrics, and the emotion in his voice.

  • i like how the melodies on this album interconnect with each other

  • @FakeFlourescentSkies Foreshadowing within the album, it's awesome

  • These guys should be playing in a stadium full of people...

  • everyone is playing jazzmasters now.. daaammmnn

  • @titcdrum That's a Mustang.

  • @narutoprower aww damn thanks for looking out.. still a sick guitar

  • @titcdrum thats a jaguar

  • @titcdrum mustang...

  • The Antlers are Awesome!

  • Saw them live last night at De-Affaire. The performance was absolutely beautiful. Peter Silberman signed my copy of Hospice as well! :D

  • Wow...those drums....

It really makes it in this live version.

God, I'd love to see these guys live

    Can't wait for another album...

  • Such an original band :)

And an awesome song too. The lyrics of their songs are incredible.

  • his electric guitar is the exact same style as the bass i have. i thought it was a bass at first lol.

  • beautiful

  • wow do i love this band..

    ps

anyone else notice the first guy that yells out "YEAH!!!" after the 2nd song (Bear)??... that guy is awesome.

  • @daveku1 the "YEAH" guy reminds me of that terrible pun meme though : P

  • they are fantastic live. AMAZING!!

  • It's only bands like THE ANTLERS and EARTH CULTURE that really know how to kick ass!!!!!

  • This album is just too good....I read the lyrics even without the music and get shivers...its so good. I must see these guys live!

  • I wish there was a more recent quality live video of them like this. I've heard theyve gotten even better within since this tour.

  • @cubbies4e yeah saw them in dublin on monday and they were outstanding, twice as good as this performance. incredible band.

  • 20 minutes is far too short for this band

  • Isn't bear and Epilogue very alike?

  • @YeahChonas Don't think of those two as songs, think of them as separate segments of "Hospice" which in itself is a long epic split into many parts.

  • totally amazing! I recommend to listen to it when you in train watching to the window on night

  • i saw these guys with ra ra riot in brooklyn. one of the greatest concerts id ever experienced!

  • i'm about to go see these guys tonight.

  • This is the most deeply moving album I've heard in a long time. Brilliantly constructed, too.

  • You hit the nail on the head there noodleman!

  • Hospice is one of the most beautiful and haunting albums I've heard all year

  • The more I listen to these guys the more I fall in love with their sound. Their music is so rewarding to listen to.

  • beauty

  • I feel very fortunate to have finally "discovered" these guys!

Proof that something so magical can be born of less-than-stellar circumstances. I hope Peter & the gang get all the kudos they deserve.

  • WOW!

  • I like this so much more live.

  • I see that they got Charlie Runkle on drums. that's pretty sweet.

  • haha lol dude nice observation. great band!

  • best show ever

  • Good stuff...These guys play their hearts out live...seen them in person.

    -J

  • love these guys! so good

  • hello adam sandler.

  • 12:15

    Yeah!

  • This album is incredible. A real gem by todays standards. If you haven't checked it out do yourself a favor and get on it.

  • @e23slack Agreed, agreed, agreed! Hospice is so amazing.

  • Though yes I agree with the former, this album being pure fucking beauty from start to end.

I would disagree with your "low standards" comment, I would say today's music is jaw dropping both with the quality and the quantity. Though, I'm nowhere near the age to make such a comment, the best it's ever been.

  • Did I say low standards?

  • I felt you implied it. Sorry if I misunderstood =)

  • I may have. Sometimes I run off at the mouth. I don't want to become two squabbling music fans. I have a feeling we're on the same side. Cheers and keep listening to challenging music.E23

  • why the hell would you sign your post, it's pretty clear who is posting

  • Why do you care? With all of the f*cked up crap going on in the world you target this? Some people. Take care and choose your battles a little more wisely.E23SLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why would you sighn a letter if your adress is on it or why would you sign a contract when your name is on it?

    stop asking stupid questions

  • ignoring for a moment that the body of youtube comments is closer to scribblings on a bathroom wall than epistolary correspondence, people typically sign letters to show that they have had personal involvement in the matter. It is abundantly clear no one is impersonating you on youtube.

  • THE MICROKORG!!!

    That's a powerful little synth.

  • microKORG FTW.

  • it actually was taken down because it got too many thumbs down. but i wouldn't be surprised if npr took it down, cause all you post is douchey bullshit like "eat sum shits npr"

don't get me wrong, i love ska, but songs about 9th grade memories have zero comparison in substance to albums like hospice that portray an elaborate story of a doctor who falls in love with a cancer patient and slowly watches her die.

  • @MattSturg no, it's about an incredibly abusive relationship and how it mirrors the relationship between a doctor and hospice patient. just clarifying.

  • @ScubaS7eve ive never heard it put that way, but i dont get how that can be true. i mean, not to overanalyze it or make a big fuss about it all, but what gave you the idea it was about an abusive relationship?

  • @nos41rac "Hospice tells the story of an emotionally abusive relationship, explained through the analogy of a hospice worker and terminally-ill patient. Frontman Peter Silberman has been reticent to divulge explicit details regarding the meaning of the record, and the extent to which it is autobiographical."

    I nabbed that from wikipedia.

  • @ScubaS7eve hmm. well i guess that puts it in a new light, thanks. i still liked it more when it wasn't an analogy, but now I get to listen to it with 2 perspectives. Should be fun, thanks.

  • @nos41rac i think it's more universal that way, it's more real.

  • They're coming to LA in October.

    :D

  • What do you think people born 10 years before you were saying about the music in the 90's?

  • lots of different things i'm sure. what's your point?

  • have you listened to the song thirteen? and like shiva really stood out to me. i think you should give those songs a chance

  • Lyrics are so epic

  • yay i think i get to see them live

  • fucking awesome.

  • The choir's gonna sing, and this thing is gonna kill you...

  • Album of the year!

  • fuckin'band. \m/

  • what a band - can't believe there's only three of em, I'd listened to a lot and presumed there must be at least five to make such an epic sound!

  • Shit, it IS the best album of 2009.

  • Hospice is one of the best albums of 2009.

  • aw this is awesome. makes up for the fact that i probably won't get to see them live. thanks.

  • Very emotional. Go Antlers.

Where the hell do they come from?

  • i think their from brooklyn

  • yeah, they are

  • Thanks for uploading!
