Why these foreign NGOs are not letting India grow? Why they want us to live like tribals forever while themselve enjoying all luxury of life ? Probably afraid of India's growth. Anyway, whatever they do, they can't stop our growth story. Jain Hind.
That is how we were meant to live. At one with nature. That people probably don't get diabetes and heart disease. They have a balance of diet and faith. God bless those people.
A sad story... Seeing children taking small weapons to save their hountry... Their god is the mountain... Sadly, ours has become money... But in europe & USA, now we see that the market tells our governments what to to do. And despite the fact that nobody voted for a bank or the market, we have to pay the price, for them to make profit. How to get rich? Not complecated: Earth has ressources for everybody. They take it & we pay our due to have the right to live. We more poor, they richer..Crual.
Once the nature of the mind is understood, the way is out of the evergrowing cities and back into nature living from the land in small self-sufficient communities independent from the world economy. The companies try to make us believe that food comes from supermarkets but that is a lie. The food comes from the soil. Everything springs from this earth and everything goes right back into it again. The great wheel of life, of living and dying.

Capitalism does not have any respect for humanity in any way or form, the one thing they want is money at any cost as long they are not the ones that actually fight for it.
I must clarify that this is not a british owned company but promoted by an Indian. Also all this documentary is funded by mining giants of western countries who do not want India to come up and compete with them. Moreover this documentary tries to show that these tribes should be conserved like animals and vedanta wants that these few people also lead life equal to all civilized people like us and have evereything for them. Also Vedanta feeds directly millions of people.
@TheBalu29 - wrong on all counts. Vedanta Resources is listed on the London Stock Exchange. No money from any mining company was used to make this documentary. And nothing in this film suggests that tribes should be 'conserved like animals' - rather, that they should be allowed to decide their own future and not have it imposed on them by outsiders like Vedanta. Why do you suggest that the Dongria Kondh are not 'civilized' people?
@survivalintl A company listed on the London stock exchange does not mean that it is a British company. It makes it more likely. But that's not how you determine what country a company is domiciled in. Also, even if a company is domiciled in one particular country, its major share holder/s may be domiciles of any country in the world, and may still yet be of any nationality. Vedanta has a complex ownership structure, but Indian companies and nationals certainly have the majority stake.
@TheBalu29 " that these tribes should be conserved like animals" are u insane.. this documentary is touching and it shows how simple people can be happy with their lives even without your so called civilization.. what do u mean like civilised people like us.. since ur having a car, a house and eating with a sppon and watching youtube videos do you become civilised.. every human in this world is civilised in his or her own way and culture..
@TheBalu29 The CEO is Indian but the company is registered in London, but kindly dont create any conspiracy theories. Britain is not run by the same people who ruled us 70 years ago, kindly get rid the anti colonial mindset, move on its been a long time.
@TheBalu29 oh so respecting the earth, growing your own food having naturally good health because you dont poison yourself with chemicals and processed food and drugs is uncivilized? you must read/write, be materialistic needing far more than your share to be happy, be a slave to a government disconnected from the earth to be considered civilized huh? I thought so... No one needs Vedanta or any other company/gov to feed them THE EARTH ALREADY DOES THAT NATURALLY...
@TheBalu29 No one is against development. But with development comes responsibility. What vedanta has done to the poor villagers? Cant it do something for them? Dumb fucks like you think people will get job after such factories. But what about the real tribals who suffer and get nothing in return.???
Those people could very well be Dravidians that lived along the INDUS in ancient times, during the time when the NIMROD(CUSHITE) who built the cities (UR,SEBA,south YEMEN where the Abyssinian empire spread the south of yemen touching tip of Africa and heading toward Egypt. you can still see the Djouboti in east africa where the same attire as the ancient Egyptians in the walls of Egypt.

Those Reddy mining Brothers in our state(Karnataka) have already destroyed so many life by destroying so many Forests and mountains ......... Its SO SICK.... OUR state government of Karnataka is completely under those REDDY mining BROTHER control....Survival International pls do something...........PLS PLS
@TheYellowpower : Did you know that the narrator is English? And the link above states that "The Norwegian and British governments, the Church of England, organizations such as Survival, and even insurance giant Aviva have all criticized the company and its ethics. " That doesn't sound like an evil empire returning to India.
Regardless, I'm really happy to see that the tribe won, Let's all hope it lasts.
... the human mind is the motor that drives them to do all the things they do. if we dont understand exactly how the motor works we cannot find the problem or fix it.
i need camera people and editors to help me do a documentary explaining how and why Tribal people had/have a Superior way of living. but explain it with referencing to how the mind works as an exact understanding. i have been working on this for oevr 15 years. its ready.
And the battle has been won. The government has denied permission. Congratulations to the Dongria Kondh. I think this is better. Else it would have been the Maoists who would have taken it up. That would be very bloody.
Good news: Vendanta has just been denied permission by the government of India to carry on its mining activities because it violated forest and tribal rights. The government is also looking at options to prosecute Vedanta for its violations. Thanks a lot to "Survival International" for bringing this issue out of the forests.
A very touching film about these people, I wish for a peaceful solution, give the people their land and at the same time the land will be preserved too. These tribal people live in harmony with the land, it is good for us all too.
What people should do is to protect these tribe people. They know how to live with nature. They have rich cultures and wisdom. People who live in developed countries can learn a lot of things from them. Don't let the industries enter their beautiful place.
@trentinoten - You probably thought Dances with Wolves was a documentary. Did you know that the 'great horse culture of the Sioux' didn't exist? Horses were introduced by Europeans, and stolen by the Indians. Justice and hope mean nothing without wisdom, and you are extraordinarily naive.
@jbrisby : If you can't support a noble cause, atleast don't discourage others. For your information not all people in the world have selfish and narrow minded attitude like you and the Govt. of India has banned Vedanta mining activity after popular public support. You continue living in your own selfish world while the world moves on.....good luck!
@jbrisby - what a thoroughly unpleasant world you live in! One that denies the possibility of justice and hope. By your logic, might is right. The ability to impose will by force would justify absolutely anything. We've been there, done that, and one would hope we'd have learnt.
I'm not sympathetic. There's a lot more people in the world who need aluminum than who need this sacred mountain. And the sacred mountain was probably made up by Westerners to shape public opinion anyway. Real life isn't like Avatar. These aren't noble savages, they're scavengers and drunks scratching a living on the fringes of civilization. They might as well be fighting the tide. Things change; you either adapt to new realities, or you get swept away.
@jbrisby hahaha, Yeah, people like you probably. It's their right to decide whether to sale this aluminum or not. Not a foreign company which probably don't care, to respect their lives as they want to live it, just the profit they can lose if they don't take it. Everybody has the right to decide the life they want to live. The noble savage it's a very ignorant concept europeans use to have in the colonization. And only ignorants use it nowadays...
@jbrisby - these indegenous people survived living from the land the same as ANY (including the ancestors of you and I) early culture around the globe. Every old culture has a story of colonialism and the taking of their resources. These culture are so old, in fact, that they survived living this way of life for thousands of years. True, they arent noble savages, they are us at an earlier age in history. Their story is no less important than our own.
Vendata must find a new place. Must not be here .....a lot of bad effects to the mountain, air pollution, water pollution, Tree Cutting. they ruin this forest.
@Aeore506 exactly, it's hard to spot a native indian in america these days, i've been to the us like 5 times and cant remember ever seeing one, but mexicans are native to america, just look on a map and see how mexico covers california all the way to texas, thats where most of those cowboy and indian movies were based..... next time i visit i'm going to go to a native reserve
@Socarbon Completely invited my friend! People of the world use to forget that America is the whole continent, from Alaska to Argentina, and that all natives throughout this land belong to the same people. Unfortunately our continent has been taken and we the natives have been put away, and now we are strangers in our own land. Sad history...
@Aeore506 and they have the nerve to make the natives pay rent, thats like me breaking into your home ... kicking you out of your room...making you live in the restroom and then demanding rent lol, it's crazy ...
@Socarbon - they still exist. The Native First Nations survived the only way they could with colonialism and mass extermination at their throats-they assimilated into the dominant culture. No, they usually dont wear their old indegenous clothing, however, many are coming back to the old ways and mixing the new into that. If you ever get to Washington DC visit the Smithsonian Native American Museum-an eye opener! Many native peoples helped set this museum up.
@binashraf Unfortunately, "Might makes right." is a lot truer than we would like it to be in this world at times. As an American, I can say that it's a mentality that runs through the citizenship here as well as our political/justice system. Whether that "might" be money, tools of war, or mass opinion; if one side has more of it, they win no contest.
I knew the Avatars were REAL...I think the Avatars were a black tribe (I know Im very imaginative) but this movie just meant a lot to me and I could really relate to it on a personal level.
@M0N3t7 The Na'vi in Avatar weren't based on black people, they were based on Native American or South American tribal people. Some of them, Neytiri's father Eytucan for example, even have Native American features.
@PKBitchGirl The Na'vi I beleave are intended to be a symbolic example for all indigious peoples and even non indigious in some cases because the Na'vi cant be labeled black, white, american, chinese, etc we can only see them as living beings and see the effect of our interaction with them like lookling at ourselfes in a mirror
@PKBitchGirl Actually, their language and costume is based on Polynesian people. Watch the documentary if you don't believe it. As for the spiritual beliefs, those were the creation of the white man. Science gives us our modern ideas of the unity of nature and the flow of energy; we impose these ideas on primitive cultures to make them seem wiser and nobler than they actually were. Those who actually study such cultures that still exist do not come away impressed.
@jbrisby Actually, a lot of people who study indigenous cultures are surprised and very impressed that these people survive in ways that we in modern society do not.
All racial groups have had polytheism. Religion and spirituality is not an invention of the white man alone.
@meep86 You assume all possible spirituality was invented... You assume By the way, not ALL racial group have had polytheism. You forget monotheism. It's funny how "white men" today have cast off all possible scenarios of spirituality as "myth." That's a crude assumption. No amount of scientific thought can justify crude assumption. Also, if there is no "God," I'd say you are far better believing that delusion than facing the harshest reality possible--that we'll die and never exist again.
@SuperGamer87 Of course it was invented. Someone had to come up with an explanation for things.
Oh and I already know of that possibility. The idea that we'll die and our energy (bodies because inside we're all just sacks of meat. Literally.) goes back into the earth and that's it. Oh wait, that's right...that idea is supposed to scare me of course?
Don't think so. Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs and views.
@AALIYAHSAPHIRA Survival isn't the base of life. Survival is only a scenario in life. Life is more than surviving. Also, not all "surviving" truly counts as survival. A man suddenly losing his high-paying job is just not the same as a tribe facing a winter low of food because the grocery stores needed meat for the man who lost his job, who'll probably get governmental aid. In fact, our sad "oversurviving" is the very reason why we have such a tribal survival programs. We live in excess.
2.The goal of human life is to realize human nature is devine
How did this company come up with this name and dare to take humans and try to get them out for money these people live here it is there home and that is the truth this company must find another place
@sonofthedestroyer god,,,please, learn more, everything is the holy triangle RELIGIONS,POLITICS,MILITARS.Do not answer me,go sto site in youtube about the coneccion of this three and the control of the world and their abuse over the history.atheist pages in youtube also.
They could perhaps like, stop doing the silly things like worshipping anything. After that they'd already be able to outsmart most of America, so things should go smooth from there.
Another instance of Europeans stealing the land of indigenous people for their own personal gain. No different than they did to the american indians. No different than what they have done to the black community. Whenever they want something no one else matters.
I have walked across these hillsides since i first was my mother's daughter, and you can't just take this land away without me fighting. this land's been walked by many people, some died young, some still living, and you can't just take these hills away without me fighting
in the US they have ruined the state of west virginia, this is in human, Indian ta king bribes and politicos are raping the planet. along with multinationals.
This is really a wakeup for the people for protecting our Nature from Distroying Forests and People believes, I support it from the core of the heart and want to protomote this to my friends also.........
My message to the tribals is IAM WITH YOU MY PEOPLE.
After people watch Avatar and realize how mad the selfish humans make you ,you should think of the pain that native americans when through because unlike the movie ...Native Americans are real people and they were forced off there land and killed if they didn't do as they were told! Avatar is a good story...and the first thing I thought of was my ancestors and the pain they went through and the thinks my people go through because selfish people that.
More than a year later, hope the lovely tribe have been left in peace, fearfully but ever hopefull will have to google, with them in spirit. When is profit over people and planet going to stop, its disgusting. One love.
Drive out Vedanta, the bandit company that destroy the ecology and the people who lives there, while it's CEO makes to Forbes list. Just stealing Indian resources and killing the people
@ThatOneSkinnyGuy um.,.... they MADE them. like the native americans and other tribes from all over the world they grow fibers weave and cut and sew their own cloths. they make everything they use
i truly beleive that there is a balance that should be left alone , i dont know where these people came from that decided for them selves that they could take what ever and were ever from were ever they pleased , the people of the land understand that mountain and have a connection to that land , i pray for them and stand with them in there consciousness
I feel for them, but I fear for them. Violence in India is rather common compared to the states. It's a massive gun carrying corporation vs a small ax wielding tribe. My historical reference, Aztecs vs Cortez. I think you know how that ended.
This is what I call social darwinism, survival of the fittest. kill and destroy the weak to get bigger. If this native pick up arms to defend themselves, automatically they will become known as terrorist.
Tribals are anyways blocking all the progress. Lets just dump them on Andaman and let them have their way with each other. Narmada dam: hell yes. Evict everyone who opposes it.
@wreckedpc .... I pity your thinking.. You want to grow bigger.. So just dump these tribes.. isn't it?? You must have been one of them and then I would have liked to hear the same from you.. Pathetic....
hey you could only mention Andaman as the destination for tribals..Motherland is birthright...most probably your upbringin been done in rented house...or some built house over purchased land in a city...if you were ever belonged to your own land..think of a few seconds about sharing your house with other ..forget being evicted...and yes...have you ever been to anywhere near Narmada..fella u r livin drinking Bottled and Tap water...have the conscience to see the flip side...
All my positive energies go out to these beautiful and strong humans, I will spread the word to as many others as I can. Thank you for bringing this injustice to light, may it be resolved swiftly and peacefully for these native people.
This is just too much. I pray for the Dongria Kondh and Mother Earth. Thank you for bringing this story to light. If possible please provide a follow-up to this video. Thank you. <3 AC

@TheYellowpower : Did you know that the narrator is English? And the link above states that "The Norwegian and British governments, the Church of England, organizations such as Survival, and even insurance giant Aviva have all criticized the company and its ethics. " That doesn't sound like an evil empire returning to India.
Regardless, I'm really happy to see that the tribe won, Let's all hope it lasts.

i need camera people and editors to help me do a documentary explaining how and why Tribal people had/have a Superior way of living. but explain it with referencing to how the mind works as an exact understanding. i have been working on this for oevr 15 years. its ready.

Good news: Vendanta has just been denied permission by the government of India to carry on its mining activities because it violated forest and tribal rights. The government is also looking at options to prosecute Vedanta for its violations. Thanks a lot to "Survival International" for bringing this issue out of the forests.

Justice and hope mean nothing without wisdom, and you are extraordinarily naive.
jbrisby 1 year ago
@jbrisby : If you can't support a noble cause, atleast don't discourage others. For your information not all people in the world have selfish and narrow minded attitude like you and the Govt. of India has banned Vedanta mining activity after popular public support. You continue living in your own selfish world while the world moves on.....good luck!
cschandragiri 1 year ago
@jbrisby - what a thoroughly unpleasant world you live in! One that denies the possibility of justice and hope. By your logic, might is right. The ability to impose will by force would justify absolutely anything. We've been there, done that, and one would hope we'd have learnt.
trentinoten 1 year ago
I'm not sympathetic. There's a lot more people in the world who need aluminum than who need this sacred mountain. And the sacred mountain was probably made up by Westerners to shape public opinion anyway. Real life isn't like Avatar. These aren't noble savages, they're scavengers and drunks scratching a living on the fringes of civilization. They might as well be fighting the tide. Things change; you either adapt to new realities, or you get swept away.
jbrisby 1 year ago
@jbrisby hahaha, Yeah, people like you probably. It's their right to decide whether to sale this aluminum or not. Not a foreign company which probably don't care, to respect their lives as they want to live it, just the profit they can lose if they don't take it. Everybody has the right to decide the life they want to live. The noble savage it's a very ignorant concept europeans use to have in the colonization. And only ignorants use it nowadays...
Aeore506 1 year ago
@jbrisby - these indegenous people survived living from the land the same as ANY (including the ancestors of you and I) early culture around the globe. Every old culture has a story of colonialism and the taking of their resources. These culture are so old, in fact, that they survived living this way of life for thousands of years. True, they arent noble savages, they are us at an earlier age in history. Their story is no less important than our own.

Aeore506 1 year ago
@Aeore506 exactly, it's hard to spot a native indian in america these days, i've been to the us like 5 times and cant remember ever seeing one, but mexicans are native to america, just look on a map and see how mexico covers california all the way to texas, thats where most of those cowboy and indian movies were based..... next time i visit i'm going to go to a native reserve
Socarbon 1 year ago
@Socarbon Completely invited my friend! People of the world use to forget that America is the whole continent, from Alaska to Argentina, and that all natives throughout this land belong to the same people. Unfortunately our continent has been taken and we the natives have been put away, and now we are strangers in our own land. Sad history...
Aeore506 1 year ago

PKBitchGirl 1 year ago
@PKBitchGirl not in the film they werent most were blatantly negroid overlaid with cat like features.
kumarsa108 1 year ago
@PKBitchGirl The Na'vi I beleave are intended to be a symbolic example for all indigious peoples and even non indigious in some cases because the Na'vi cant be labeled black, white, american, chinese, etc we can only see them as living beings and see the effect of our interaction with them like lookling at ourselfes in a mirror
123allrock 1 year ago
@PKBitchGirl Actually, their language and costume is based on Polynesian people. Watch the documentary if you don't believe it. As for the spiritual beliefs, those were the creation of the white man. Science gives us our modern ideas of the unity of nature and the flow of energy; we impose these ideas on primitive cultures to make them seem wiser and nobler than they actually were. Those who actually study such cultures that still exist do not come away impressed.
jbrisby 1 year ago
@jbrisby Actually, a lot of people who study indigenous cultures are surprised and very impressed that these people survive in ways that we in modern society do not.
All racial groups have had polytheism. Religion and spirituality is not an invention of the white man alone.
meep86 1 year ago
@meep86 You assume all possible spirituality was invented... You assume By the way, not ALL racial group have had polytheism. You forget monotheism. It's funny how "white men" today have cast off all possible scenarios of spirituality as "myth." That's a crude assumption. No amount of scientific thought can justify crude assumption. Also, if there is no "God," I'd say you are far better believing that delusion than facing the harshest reality possible--that we'll die and never exist again.
SuperGamer87 1 year ago
@SuperGamer87 Of course it was invented. Someone had to come up with an explanation for things.
Oh and I already know of that possibility. The idea that we'll die and our energy (bodies because inside we're all just sacks of meat. Literally.) goes back into the earth and that's it. Oh wait, that's right...that idea is supposed to scare me of course?
Don't think so. Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs and views.

SuperGamer87 1 year ago
@AALIYAHSAPHIRA Survival isn't the base of life. Survival is only a scenario in life. Life is more than surviving. Also, not all "surviving" truly counts as survival. A man suddenly losing his high-paying job is just not the same as a tribe facing a winter low of food because the grocery stores needed meat for the man who lost his job, who'll probably get governmental aid. In fact, our sad "oversurviving" is the very reason why we have such a tribal survival programs. We live in excess.
