this is awesome, though the audio sin't the best. get better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111 and rule the world11111111
Wow, I've used Super8 and stop-motion separately and they're bloody difficult enough on their own! AND SYNC! I can't imagine how much planning this must have taken, my mind boggles actually.
@hongdekong The best thing with Super8 "film" cameras was they had a "single frame" button. So, instead of continuous footage, you could shoot one frame. Lee sets up the claymation (eg. man, woman facing each other)... then takes a single frame. He then moves arm slightly, tilts heads slightly, (& what-ever else), then he takes another frame.... He had to consider ~24 frames per second x 3 minutes (std Super8 film length), & work out what he could do in the time. Brilliant! No editing! Legend!
So if I'm understanding this correctly, this is the original cut of your 'A ZOMBIE CLAYMATION'? Also, that the sound was recorded separately and blind based on the approximate time that had passed along the animation? Goodness, Mr. Hardcastle, you continue to amaze me. I have to imagine you storyboarded like mad on this in order to preserve my own sanity.
@Shiggedy yeah this is it, shot on camera & untouched. If you made a mistake, you couldn't re-shoot anything. You'll notice the sound slowly drifting out of sync towards the end. Shaun of the Dead dir. Edgar Wright made a Straight8, search for "Forced Hilarity straight8"
@xocydneyox imagine you had a video camera with a 3 minute tape to record on. And, you had to make a film with it but all you were allowed to do was press "record" / "stop record" until you'd recorded over the whole tape.
THEN, imagine... you weren't allowed to see the results of what you recorded until it was shown in a cinema with an audience.
UUUUUUUUUUUUUH THIIISSS IS THE MOST BAD ASS FUCKIN SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEEEEN *punches leehardcastle in the face and yanks off his wanker* thanks alot man ^^
Minor pet peeve.. Towards the end when covered in blood their mouths weren't moving I know why, probably due to the liquid and such, but still fairly noticeable for me.
@Dududff The first time I saw my film was with an audience on a cinema screen, it's a miracle I achieved ANY sync sound. Lip syncing wasn't really a priority in the circumstances that I was forced to make the film under, check the link in the description to learn more.
hey dude! you should really make a claymation about the small little faggot who cries in the webcam (Btw, that kid lied when he told everyone that he was bullied)
Do you do these alone? Cuz they look seriously awesome and well-made (and frikking hilarious at certain points - "What were you planning.... to do with that?"). xD
Brilliant!

@leehardcastle Amazing work!!!!... but i just can't figure when and how you recorded the audio for the movie.. i'm very curious..
skumbino 1 month ago
@skumbino I recorded the audio first, then edited to an animatic for timing. Once complete, I animated the Super8 footage to the audio file.
