perfect song, perfect pics.. well done!!!!!!!!!! I really like this. I still beleive that they would have all ended up being friends again. There was too much love for them not too. Maturity would have kicked in and old hurts healed. I guess we will never know for sure. They made my world so much better just by being in it and sharing themselves with us. My bright light in my life. Yes I am a baby boomer. Loved them all.

The footage @1:00 is evidence that they were close... Paul was close to fainting, he had a nasty gastric flu which was fast becoming an intestinal infection, and the only one noticing he wasn't his usual self was John. You can see the concern in his eyes. I really do believe that even tho they became estranged, they really loved each other, they were brothers... they had grown up together. I haven't spoken to my sister in 4 years... and if she needed a kidney, I'd be the first to offer mine.

I'm sure they were just fine before John's death. John had actually pondered a collaboration, but had his own thing to do at the time and sadly murdered before they could. They went out for dinner together. They did not hang out everyday of course, but they still admired eachothers talent and cared for eachother.

John did an interview around 1968 saying that although they might spend time apart (the four Beatles), they would always get back together in some fashion.

I wish he would have had more opportunities to write with Paul in the 70s.

All you need to know is that John and Paul met each other at the right time, both their mums had died, they had the same ambition, people grow apart, but they had the same musical goals, expressed in the most bizarre and different ways and Paul didn't get shot. Fin.

Its the old story of two people growing apart. John was loving America and wanted to spend much of his time with Yoko. Paul was more of an England guy and he was living with his family. They feuded a little bit in the early 70s but i think the seriousness of that was blown out of proportion. They were always friends and stayed in touched up until John died. They were best friends, fierce rivals and two geniuses who loved eachother

Gosh. WTH happened between these two in order to hate eachother so much? I personally believe that John was agonizingly, painfully dying, alot of things ran through his head, and I bet that Paul was one of those main things he thought about. He may have thought how he should've kept closer ties with him and he misses him. It's one of those cases where you don't know what you have until it's gone. :'(

when john died he was just getting back in the mix. he had time to reflect...paul had time to chill a bit and his solo career was fully tilt, they acknowledged each others brilliance. as people get older and wiser and reflect on their youth they can put things in perspective. i definitely could envision some gigs or some sort of fun...maybe not as loose as on top of apple records but fun and great nonetheless.

This is a thoughtful and interesting video, thanks for pulling it together. I do think it's interesting that John and Paul were able to make great music together right up to the very end. Witness "Ballad and John and Yoko" in spring '69 which is just the 2 of them in the studio cutting the record in one day, and, obviously, "Abbey Road" - "Come Together" for instance is perfect synergy, John's basic lyrics but Paul adding the swampy bass riff that puts the record on a new level.
