Hey Betty, I have a problem where the egg refuses to fuse with the bread. If I try to flip it the egg would just fall out of the hole. Am I doing something wrong?
@nickyb2u was great made with french toast i made 3 french toast circles and 2 french toast nests & one toast nest. my french toast version were great with pancake syrup! the original was great with raspberry jam along the nest! (now i just don't want to count the calories for the 4 eggs and 3 peaces of toast i just ate along with the milk, syrup and jam i had with it & almost forgot the butter)
I make my egg in the nests, like this. First cut out the bread, Add butter to pan and butter to the bread. Then put the bread in. Then put the bread in. cook for about 2 mins til gold. and then flip it, til its gold. and then take it out. and add the toast. for about 1 minute. haha
lol betty... you broke the egg when you flipped the bread + egg over. what would've been better to do would be to cover the bread + egg with a glass top thus heating the top and the bottom at the same time ;P
You rip a pretty big hole into the bread, I usually make a hole just big enough for the yolk, or the size of a circle made between our thumb and index finger. We call it an "egg in a house"
@bettyskitchen i got the recipe from eHow but I have to say i've seen some of your videos and I REALLY enjoyed making them for breakfast. You can make mini-toast out of the leftovers too it's REALLY fun!
It's the first day of 2010, as usual I woke up early and my girlfriend is passed out in bed. And I'm trying to get her a nice breakfast but have no idea what to make which is different and special... thank you so much for what you do!
My diet is composed mainly of fruits, vegetables, nuts, & tuna. I'm sure each of those has added color or use of insecticides or mercury. I mainly cook foods that I think people will enjoy, with some attention to choosing lower fat/sugar products. Nothing is perfect. I don't refuse to use bacon, because of nitrates, etc. I think most viewers would better off in the long run by shaving off calories than reading every research article about Splenda! I do my best, and it works for me. Thanks-Betty
luv your vids! you are very fit you said u work out and eat small portions, givin that are all those chemicaly infused subsitutes u use to cook with any better in the long run?i mean you work so hard to cook and stay in shape wouldnt real products be just as good? keep the recipies comin, good channel.
My response is the above comment. Yes, I will agree that it would be nice if all food products were healthy. But, even when you put something on the barbecue grill, you are introducing carcinogens. You just do the best you can in an imperfect world.
Thanks! I do work at it a bit! I watch what I eat--nothing is off-limits, but I eat small portions. I also work out 4 times a week, and (very important), I have an extremely positive attitude! Thanks for your kind compliment!
I didn't do a great job making it--it was too early in the morning for me! But, I hope you got the instructions and that yours turns out well! Thanks for viewing and commenting!
My grandpa and me used to cook this together, although we'd use two slices of bread and place them on top of each other (we just cut out a square with a knife in the centre, but your method looks much prettier!). Our other variation was to fry it in dripping... a little less healthy than your recipe.
Thanks for posting this video it bring back happy childhood memories!
Thanks for your sweet comment! I thought this would bring back memories for some people. It's the kind of thing you get away from (for many years), and almost forget! Thanks for viewing and commenting!
Wow, thanks Betty! I always forget about this great way to fix eggs in toast! I think I might have to stop by the store this morning to get some bread & strawberries.
I found out about your channel a while back, I really have no idea how, but I'm so glad I did and I watch every one of your new videos - still catching up on the old!
You are so beautiful. Every boys dream prof. Such a feminine and traditional lady with brains! Glad you were not corrupted by feminism. Awesome cooking recipes. I will try them.
Wow this is totally new to me! I'm not usually a huge egg fan but I do have them once in a while and this recipe would make them less boring =) Thanks for the great idea! =)
Thank you! I got the bread a little overdone--I think I was just slow in waking up! But, you can do it and not make my mistakes! It is a real treat for kids! Thanks for your sweet comment!
