Well, put peaty on this bike then something really naff like the Orange 222 that he used to ride, and I doubt you would notice a difference in his times. It all marketing spin to sell the bikes. Honestly what has changed in downhilling in the last 10 years? Pretty much all the stuff on these modern bikes has been seen before.
@chuckmanbob Name all the major improvements that make people go faster that were not there ten years ago then. Pretyt much all the tech was available back then apart from some of the shock technology.
Anyone would think they were designing a top F1 car or fighter plane ...its a BIKE!, how many times can you redesign a frame and change the shock position/frame on what is essentially something very simple.
@teamdoa Theres countless ways to set up a bike. With a F1 car or a fighter plane, they have to be designed a particular way to cope with the extreme forces in play. In terms of a bike, it's a matter of balancing how fast gravity can pull you down a mountain with different stroke lengths, angles, bottom out features, downstroke, rebound, etc. This is not yer dad's bike! They might as well be F1 racers or fighter planes...
