Weezer became incredibly lame in their past few albums. Made me pretty much toss them out of my 'liked bands' list. Their christmas covers are definitely one of the better things they produced. Kudos to Weezer.

it's getting the same crap Make Believe got, and I put Make Believe above Green and Maladroit. I mean come on. Perfect Situation...awesome! Hold Me is just epic sounding. Haunt You Every Day....fantastic. The only things I liked off of Green are Don't Let Go and Hash Pipe.

Yeah, it definitely is! It really sucks that a lot of people put down Weezer's newer stuff. I love all of their albums and I don't think the new albums are less in quality by any means, I think they're just a different musical direction, but at the core, it's still Weezer.

Some fans seem to just refuse to be satisfied until Weezer goes back to the Blue Album sound. Which is pointless...Rivers is not going to be writing the same style songs and same type of lyrics he wrote 15 years ago. It'd be ridiculous to expect that of him, you know? Oh well, I'm glad to find other fans that appreciate the new albums as well! :o)

Thanks, you too! And yes, I'm sure that's exactly what everyone will be saying. And then they'll be disappointed. Rivers is 38 now, he's grown as a person and as a musician, so his songwriting style is different now, and as you said, has evolved. People just don't get it.

By the way, have you seen Rivers' new stereogum videos? Someone posted them on youtube...they're amazing!

wow! yes! that's some amazing stuff. i will say, I'm glad he shaved the goofy mustache. he just needs to put the black glasses back on and bring out the blonde stratocaster with the huge Elmo sticker on it. haha i think when I buy my next Strat I'm gonna plaster it with stickers. it'll look tacky and the guitar tech at Guitar Center will probably give me weird looks when he sees it but it'll be cool as hell.

I know, I'm completely obsessed, it sounds so good! Everyone is so happy Rivers shaved the stache, it's funny. The mustache amused me, and it's sentiment was sweet, so it grew on me and I actually didn't mind it. I will say that I do prefer him without it though, I kind of forgot how young he looks! lol He looks amazing in those videos, but I also miss the glasses. Definitely go with the stickers on the guitar, even if the Guitar Center guy gives you a weird look, it's totally cool and badass.
