before "retiring"from music abbadon made the cd album (i am) legion a truly awful cd of mainly electro metal!? lets face it he was never a great drummer, but he was a founder member of a great band, a band that founded an entire genre of music & how many bands have done that? the original members of venom fell apart after 1986 album calm before the storm & did not work together again untill the late 90's for the cd "cast in stone"& ive got to say abbadons drumming on that cd was top notch
@liveShit venom split after the release of the 85 album possessed, few years later mantas got abaddon with other ppl, tony dolan, dunno the other guy, reformed as a new venom
great skate music makes me wanna get out my vision psycho stick cronos rules but tony dolan does too I am 27 years old and say this ,some people say anything by kiss but I say anything by venom
Not true! Abbadon started a band called Kaos with a couple of guys called Mark and Jonaz, round about 2003. I have a three track demo they did, from when I had a chance to audition for the band. It was kind of industrial, with lots drum samples, and not very good to be honest.
If difference means improvement, then hail difference! The 3 albums with Dolan are pure gold compared to 'Possessed' and 'Calm Before The Storm' production- and musicwise. Mantas once said that the only 4 albums who actually cut it are 'Welcome To Hell', 'Black Metal', 'Prime Evil' and 'Resurrection'. I totally agree!
Venom without Cronos is like Motorhead without Lemmy, like Van Halen without Eddie, like Rolling Stones witout Mick Jagger. Which means, another completely different band. THis is no Venom. Period.
I think that this Venom line-up is great. I really do. They had a new found fire that was diminishing starting with At War With Satan, Dolan has a great evil voice, Mantas had good riffs, they had another guitarist, they had a new, more serious approach, and Abaddon's drumming was at its peak. Cronos kicks ass and should continue, but I hope this line-up reunites at some point the way Black Sabbath's Dio line-up does sometimes
@GoGadget24 not anymore....even antton got sick of his assclown junkie brother haha....Check Out Prime Evil the new band wi mantas antton and Tony Dolan....
@Clunge1312 They were who I was referring too. The fellow I replied to wanted a reunion of this line-up. Abaddon isn't around, so this Primevil might be the next best thing.
@BlisteredClown Well..Mantas, Dolan and Antton have formed a new band together and have called it Prime Evil.........I heard some tracks and they kick ass.
I prefer the original line-up with Cronos, Mantas, and Abbadon. Tony was also a good bassist and vocalist..but the line-up now is just pure shit, i mean Rage sure hes good but i dislike all the distortion...atleast i think theres too much distortion, Antton is a good drummer, better than Abbadon sure...but it's just not the same.
Call it whatever you want, this buries Venom's complete material from 1996 on. No Cronos, so what? The heart of Venom has always been Mantas for me because, apart from Cronos, he can make memorable music!
CRONOS...MANTAS...ABBADON is the original line up...ANTTON is a better drummer..and no way is demolition man better than cronos on the bass.. or vocals!!!
Venom is nothing without Cronos???yeah he wishes.He's a gay fuck you know,drug addict(aparently),liar(definately)and pussy.....All Hail,hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
yeah fuck all you bastards venom is venom anyways, PRIME EVIL AND RESURRECTION ARE THE BEST ALBUMS, the old and new ones are to be considered a fucking musical joke
I have this show on vhs. I'm looking and looking for Blackened Are the Priests. Not sure if its a Cronos-era song or not but its one of my favorite songs from this show. The intro to Countess Bathory and Buried Alive are awesome.
Cronos was the last of the members of the true Venom line up to join! Mantas and Abbadon were already playing together, Cronos joined on rhythmn guitar and when the bassist/vocalist left, Cronos switched and they became Venom.
Choruses... Man what the fuck are you shitting about. Venom = creepy, dark, gloomy, satanic fucking rocking band not damn choruses with gay vocalist and completely different sound.
Cronos is the best man walking on this earth which cannot be replaced by anyone especially not that bald bay.
Great clip, Tony D is a great guy - he jammed with us (See Red) recently at a Phil Lynott tribute gig. Tony sang Thin Lizzy's "Cold Sweat" with us - check out the video on my youtube page.
this is not black metal dude!!! i know venom fans will be mad but i dont like venom!!! mayhem, dimmu borgir, gorgototh, cradle of filth, thos r the BM bands i like but still i mus recognize ther are the fathers of balck metal! BM owns!!!!!
I have 'Prime Evil' on vinyl picture disc. I haven't spun it in awhile, but shit its a good good metal LP. I don't care if its the 'real venom' or the real whatever the fuck else. Its just good.
all venom kicks ass, not like they are the best, cuz they r not, but they r great for n e one who likes straight out raw metal, and yes original venom is better. but atleastsomeone made a venom album without CRONOS, and kept the ball going.

For my opinion, the true leader of Venom is Cronos, but PRIME EVIL, if it was recorded withouth him, it's a very good hard/metal album!^_^
But for me, the true Venom are from WELCOME TO HELL to POSSESSED.
Another thing, I hate CALM BEFORE THE STORM! XD A very trash long playing!
