  • Needs the intro along with it for maximum awesomeness!!!

  • The Amazing Brando's lyrics comes to mind when I listen to this.

  • @Katingaan

    I JUS POOPED MAH PANTS

  • this is called begining

  • I get chills when I hear this...so good, so many memories. But goddamn this game is hard.

  • When Trevor was praying during the opening, he was probably saying this:

"O My great ancestors, thank you for bestowing me this whip that I shall gladly use to beat the crap out of Dracula and his minions...."

    LET'S ROCK!!!!

  • @SuperSketch008

At the time he wouldn't have been, since they were saying Trevor was the first Belmont to fight Dracula. Hopefully they never retcon anymore - it got confusing real fast.

  • @DJCandyManMike It doesn't matter; the Belmonts were well-known to hunt many vampires. Dracula ain't the only guy out there, you know...

  • @SuperSketch008

Yes, I'm well aware. Walter was Leon's prey, and once his soul got taken by Matthias, Dracula was the result. So he has been their biggest prey, and it's very personal.

  • @DJCandyManMike While on the topic of retcons, I do think that they stop it all for once. But I think it was good idea that they retconned Castlevania Legends, I mean, Alucard being the father of Trevor!? That's...just not right. Not to mention the fact that the Belmont bloodline becoming half-vampire ruins the entire point of the games.

  • @SuperSketch008

I wasn't aware that Legends was retconned. That saddens me a little bit - I liked Sonia.

  • @DJCandyManMike I did too, but it makes sense that they did retcon it. Like I said before, Alucard fathering Trevor ruins the entire concept of the game. Also, Trevor is supposed to be the first Belmont to defeat Dracula. That wouldn't make sense if Sonia already defeated him before.

  • @SuperSketch008

Yes, but even before then, they said Sonia only defeated Dracula, she didn't kill him. That's why his castle didn't crumble completely. You're right, though, that even if Sonia weren't retconned, Trevor was the first to kill Drac. Even Lament of Innocence says that it was hundreds of years after Leon before the first great battle between Matthias and the Belmonts. By the way, I thought the story in LOI was terrific, even if the game itself could have been better.

  • @DJCandyManMike Yeah, but it was kinda dissapointing to have Mathias/Dracula just run off like that. The Final battle wasn't that epic either. Oh well, great game otherwise.

  • @SuperSketch008

I had an idea for a game years ago that I called Castlevania reunion that would have brought all the Belmonts together with all their unique abilities. It took place in the future and the current Belmont, Nicholas, didn't have enough power to fight Dracula when he came back. Nicholas was a brilliant scientist, though, so he made a time machine and brought all his ancestors to help. Drac stole the time machine and wants to use it to bring back a demon more feared than him.

  • @DJCandyManMike Interesting idea...if you ever do make something like this, you have my full support.

  • @SuperSketch008

Thanks! I has this idea back in 1999, and I guess I had it in mind for Dreamcast. But yeah, you have to try to prevent Dracula from powering the time machine back up, and at that time, it would have been unique in the series since the final battle wouldn't have been against Dracula. And I had so many different endings in mind depending on who lived and who died - everyone gets one life each.

  • @DJCandyManMike may i just say (ha, ryme) ...any way , i think that's a great concept for a CV game but wouldnt it be better if when drac stole the time machine and then used it to bring back some of his own previous selves like his second form in CV3, his second form in CV, his second form in CV Dracula X and him in SOTN (maby its his cape i dont know)

please reply telling me what you think and i wont be offended or anything if you dont like it XD

  • @ManiacLegoMan

That's not a bad idea, but I like better the possibility of Dracula not being the final boss this time. At the time I had this idea, Dracula had always been the final boss of every game in the series, and that tradition wasn't broken, to my knowledge, until Lament of Innocence, where Death was the final boss. Plus, according to my story, the power supply of the time machine was depleted right before Dracula stole it, and he doesn't know what powers it.

  • @DJCandyManMike wow if you suddenlystopped because you ran out of usable characters im gonna laugh so hard

  • @travisandhugo

No, it had nothing to do with that. I just never got around to getting the idea off the drawing board.

  • @ManiacLegoMan

Because of that, the Belmonts have time on their side. Putting Dracula's past forms in would be neat, but how would he find time to do it when he's trying to figure the time machine out while the Belmonts are clearing the way to his domain?

  • Damn it man, Konami sure know how to make classic video games.

  • And classic soundtracks! :-) This game had one of THE best soundtracks of all time in my book!

  • its like the people who made castelvania know that the best songs are at the beginning of the game.

  • One of the best castlevania tunes. It's a masterpeice. 5/5

  • Love this song. Castlevania III really great made use of the NES sound chip.

  • Cool!I feel like a hero! :D

  • ahhh, the song of my first castlevania game, really brings back fond memories.

  • Awesome game. I beat it by typing my name in as "Help Me," where you get 10 extra lives.

  • Warakiya is a mistranslation of Wallachia. Wallachia is the area of Transylvania over which Vlad Tsepes ("Dracula") ruled. LOOK IT UP!

  • @LindyLooSochow They prolly meant to misspell it, I mean just look at the credits of the original Castlevania.

  • @TheChrisHomz its just a parody, some fun, a joke

as for the original CV credits, they might be misspelt but my theory is that they couldnt get the real names on copyright grounds or something like that

  • @LindyLooSochow if that ever comes up on final jeaporday I will cut you at least 5% of my winnings.

  • @LindyLooSochow

It's not a mistranslation it's following the rules.

There is no L in japanese language so they use the letters "eru" (E+RU). Their language is made up of two letter sounds and that is how they see things. The only solitary letters they have are the vowels and "n". Everything else is 2 letters. Wa Ra Ki Ya. They are following the rules of their language, which is limiting. This is why they are using english. They're out of words that aren't 12 syllables long.

  • dudududuuududud

    i love it <3

  • wow, the famicom version was released in 1989,

and on NES in 1992... wow, did they have problems with translating it or something?

i dont know, but its still a great game.

  • This must be a screenshot from the European version. It was out in 1990 in North America.

  • Ah Yes, I am quite the big fan. I'm looking forward to it's new releases this fall.

  • That is correct. I see you know your Castlevania =D

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this also called The Beginning?

  • That is correct.
