If you're are looking for the college party experience, this is probably not the school for you. A non-mormon myself I actually liked this schools environment for my edu cause I was able to focus & not be distracted with parties & crazy things going on, but was still able to find ppl who did party from time to time. I was able to graduate with 2 degrees + certificate, had I gone to another school I would have not gotten. Today I got friends in other schools but r struggling cause of party scene
@ratzskinakie i know this is really hard to say, but about what % of the population would you estimate is mormon? i would like being in a school that doesn't have a lot of parties and i think usu has a beautiful campus, but i'm not mormon myself, and i just wouldn't want to feel like a minority in an all-white or all-mormon place. i'll be a freshman in 2011 and i really appreciate your help or anything you can say about usu! thx :)
@sisseroono I would guess about 73% (+ or -) of the students are LDS, the town of Logan I have heard from various sources is around 80% LDS. You might feel like a minority here, but it doesn't have to be a negative thing. If anything you'd be contributing to the social diversity.
But it wasn't them who promised academics first, that promise came from the president of the university. I understand who cut the funding and am very much sickened by it, but that does not explain how removing years of experience and accountability places the students interests first. Taking out teachers with PhD's (mostly) and replacing them with students who are more concerned with their own grades than mine is putting my academics first? I think not!
I Love this Video and also I checked out your Channel. Very interesting! If you need any help getting this Video and your Channel exposed to were it is top in all the search I found this site called tubeviews.(net) that has took my breath away. I'm working on my 4th Channel now, this one I just made. My Videos are getting so many hits now. Check it out and keep in touch.
I guess they could have taken lot more vidz in many places while the studs r talkin.. USU is definitely a fun place 2 be.. I am India and it's a gr8 place already ;)
Utah State is high school grade 13-16. The teachers don't care, and the students care more about playing immature highschoolish games than focusing on actual school work. It's so cliquey. And if you aren't Mormon, RUN away. It's all Mormons at USU and they aren't as friendly as you'd think unless you are JUST like them. So read up on your Book of Mormon and honor your priesthood. If I could do it over, I'd go to the U of U instead where they actually care about academics.
This guy knows what he is talking about. I live on campus in richards hall right now, and if you arent mormon, dont go here. seriously. Aggie basketball is good, but everything else sucks. Its like going to school with gay people. They dont understand why you dont like it. And you cant hang out with them cause they are so different.
I like Utah State, one of the only drawbacks that I can think of is the high traffic in Logan. we can send a man to the moon, but can't fiqure out how to cut traffic down in Cache Valley.
is that a Mormon school?

@jayhawk88z no but a lot of people are mormons. i'd guess 65 or more percent

If "Academics come first at Utah State" why are they going to fire over 200 lectures and hire grad students in their place?!

Ask the State Legislators who took away the funding

Plus I've discovered after graduating from USU with a degree in business, it is a very mediocre degree. It will get you nowhere fast.

You wont regret going to USU. I graduated in 2002 and LOVED every second of it. If you don't mind the snow and cold for a few months out of the year.
moxiegirl78 3 years ago
Yeah, great school as long as you don't mind your classmates carrying concealed hand guns.
realnewsguy 3 years ago
Concealed handguns would stop school shootings.
danieljamesalley 3 years ago 5
this may be 6 moths late of a reply but I thought it was University of Utah that allowed concealed handguns, not USU.
