It was a win /win/win/win situation for china. They got a hell of a bump from it. They were smart to do it and do it BIG. They got the modernization for the infrastructure in the process. Hell they OWN the US now anyway.. The republicans sold us out lock, stock & barrel.

what ever the Games were in China, we will never see the likes of anything like that scale again. What country will ever spend even half the budget they did. Good luck London. Whatever they end up doing it will look like the poor step sister.

I heard China spent $48 Billion on the Olympics.

London planned to spend $6 Billion and has ballooned to $17 Billion. I think the London Olympics will have more side stories (e.g. where the athletes in Britain grew up, train, etc.) becuase the press will be more free.
