  • I hated this kind of thing back in it's day, but fuck me this sounds good compared to all this modern shit.

  • Nickey had flow, and this kind of rap/dance hybrid was pretty original at the time.

Only Rhyme that bites is still better tho.

  • Christ.. I had this on Vinyl!

  • Were is MC Tunes this Day and Age?

  • @JonMcElectro MC Tunes formed another band called The Dust Junkys, I urge you to track down their album on itunes or whatever, its classic.

  • Great track, great show. Everyone had a go at The Word, but it was fresh and cool, like nothing on TV at the time. I once went to see the show in Wembley. Great night, met Terry who was lucid and intelligent... Like they said on the ticket - DO NOT WEAR GREEN!

  • could take or leave the Word then but now looking at programs today it was brilliant. LLCool J and Mc tunes should have done a track now that would be interesting.

  • fuckin nora, this takes me back to club nights galore. This is before martyn pryce left the outfit, and 808 state became more proggy and YMO influenced after that.

  • atari ST-eeeee!

  • Top sample, Top Fuckin Tune.

This tune was made for heavy rotation.

  • whats the sample called,

  • The guitar hook is from Stone Roses 'I Am The Ressurection' As far as the other sounds sampled im not sure.

  • the "aaahhh" vocals in the background are from a Byrds song, cant remember which song though

  • Used to run a r'n'b come jazz night at PJ bells , now matt and phreds on tibb street , pj bells used to be oldham street, heard he'd wrapped a baseball bat round someone's head over money they owed, was well ripped of by 808 state and there record label.

  • My mum told me they followed him to his house so he went inside and got out the baseball bat (aluminium!) and disabled them(!).

  • Came from Moss Side but originally from Bowden. Moved to Moss Side to improve his street cred.

Still a genius though, does anyone know what he's upto these days?

  • bob on, fucking quality - riff nicked from stone roses i am the resurrection 3mins 54 seconds and it well used here mc tunes the man!!!

  • oh yeah!
