If I ever lost my hand and forearm, I'd get this because there are 2 things I look for in a bionic arm, Articulation and finger speed and this has both.
it makes me happy to see things like this.. a man who has no arms and has never been able to use anything like an arm for 26 years finally gets his dream of doing simple tasks such as picking up a banana. you can tell hes happy
war sucks, and yes: it's a military research, but thanks to military research someday we will be able to build perfect biomechanical limbs. Military research has always boosted science and technology advances, everything has more than one side.
Of course, the ideal scenario would be that governments invested that amount of attention and money for the sake of science itself, and not war only.
Indeed. But If they used all the money now being used on weapons and ammunition, and spent it on similar research then I'm sure we would allready have that biomechanical arm ;)
This is amazing. Insanely amazing.

they should work on the complete arm with biomechanical shoulder, so the guy could have both arms :)

how about not sending soldiers to war?
ciucinciu 3 years ago 24
I agree but war is not the only way to lose a limb.
yoyocat 3 years ago 5
Well they can't really send anyone else in battle, but I know what you mean, but some people lose limbs through other things, such as work accidents.

well it has 18 degrees of freedom compared to a normal human arm that has 22.I'd say thats pretty damn close. Geez give credit where credit is due!
lissa6pack 3 years ago

It still doesn't have the control you get with a human arm, but the state of the art is improving.
