Those 6920's make a noise like nowt else...they are awesome. I have driven a 6920s and it is the best tractor i have driven...they have some right pulling power. Im surprised it was struggling in that mud. Nob driving it probs didn't have 4x4 even turned on!
Actually in tractor terms you would call it FWA, front wheel assist, seeing as the front wheels are smaller and only help the larger rears. AWD, or all wheel drive is describing a vehicle which always has 4 powered wheels, and can't go into 2 wheel drive, astro van, subaru cars etc. 4 wheel drive is a vehicle where all 4 tires must essentially be the same size as not to screw up the drive train and can be switched in and out of 2 and 4 wheel.
actually you may run different tire sizes on any 4wheel drive vehicle as long as they match up (cover the same amount of ground in the same amount of time) you may accomplish this by changing thegearratios in the front differential or therear differenti al so as you see the tires do not have to be the same size
It depends, I have seen 6x6 trucks with good tires drive in worse conditions. It seems like the mud here is only on the surface so the truck whould not sink down. But yeah, a tryck with only 2 or 4 wheel drive would probebly get stucked.
diff blows up if ur wheels are bigger than what there programed to

Thx for the info! I think over here in Germany we call it AWD (Allradantrieb) always, as long as all wheels can be driven...

crizp123 3 years ago
you don't used independant brakes on a 4x4 tractor when the front wheels are engaged good way to break something

dump truck would have got stuck...
Trey3212 3 years ago
Are you saying that a articulated dump truck with 6x6 would get stuck where a tractor with 4x4 and a trailer does'nt?
Softest02 3 years ago
yup
renscas9394 3 years ago
Nah..But a plain Jane dumptruck like you see on the road every day would...I have seen them get stuck in way less muck than that..
