  • freedom of speech is good and all but not when it it tramples over simple every day and even boreing things like common sence n decency . But what do I know at least as you say fuckit all freedom of speech rules!!!

  • If only people were to otherwise

  • I wish I could speak my mind after seeing this but my mind would more likely get me in trouble at this point in time.

  • fiutfdsfklnkbghhh

  • Im surprised Youtube hasn't banned or blocked this video, as they have blocked all the videos of murders and killings by the BAHRAINIAN Govt. Against unnarmed , innocent people of their country.

  • A marketing plan is a plan for marketing. Herp derp

  • Your a brave hero RIP

  • Humans- worse species ever

  • @tylertyler82 we are also the only specie capable of becoming the best. sadly it's easier said than done.

  • @TheGruiz1925 I agree with you! Such a disappointment that humanity can produce Mr. Rogers and at the same time Charles Manson. We've got a long way to go...

  • @tylertyler82 We have a massively long way to go.. I'd love to see the day when there isn't such a thing as a mentally and emotionally corrupt family. This will never happen though because pretty much every family is, and this produces horrific ignorance. The real problems are ignored by people thinking they aren't the problem and it is something or someone else and everything gets fucked up and the cycle repeats. I blame conservatives. Just kidding.. but not really

  • @buttshex If life is a free flowing river, then Republicans are a dam, trying to stop the normal flow of life through their hateful policies and endless wars. But eventually, the dam will break and the river will flow.

  • A remarkable, hard working, dedicated journalist, to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude.

  • R.I.P Tim

    I loved all his work.

  • I absolutley loved Restrepo and the book for it, WAR.

    R.I.P.

  • @bmils0328 Great documentary and book. Rest in peace, indeed. At least we still have Junger.

  • @JustGameKid He was on assignment in Libya and was struck by an RPG by Pro-Gadaffi forces. He and 2/3 others were killed.

  • We turn a blind eye to events like these if they do not effect us directly. It is sad . There should be a international criminal tribunal to address and process criminal acts against humanity no matter were they happen. The media is so controlled by ratings instead of showing the truth of what is really going on in this world. If we are serious about making the world a more peaceful place- we must ALL know the truth, not what the networks think we want want to see and hear

  • @heartholder143 that`s right..for the first time I see some one from west speaks from his mined not his moth

    Keep it up dear

  • I saw his documentary Restrepo. Absolutely amazing.

  • Poop tase good

  • He looks like sandman in spiderman 3

  • Chanchwt

  • RIP Tim I watched your movie Restrepo its the best War movie ever made;

  • @123nypd That was a great comedy.

  • @whoiswhobutwho ? wtf its a documentary person! dont laugh at dead peoples work. On May 11 2011 on judgment day Im gonna have a little talk wth you in heaven.

  • wow, that was incredibly insightful, thank you for showing us the hard truths that exist in this unequal world.

  • rr

  • Good on ya YouTube. Excellent spotlight today.

Tim was a fearless pioneer of investigative journalism, and every American should see his final work, Restrepo. The world needs more Tim Hetheringtons.

  • As far as I'm concerned, these types of conflicts will keep occurring all over the world and they will not seize because no one really gives a shit. People are more concerned about The Jersey Shore and the next over exaggerated stunt some fake-ass celebrity pulls.

  • Try to keep this in mind next time you hear someone gripe about "the media" and how journalists are all a bunch of liars anyway.

  • @RuckingFretard why? is your mom too busy to give you a show?

  • @RuckingFretard No, and also could you please use some capitalization and punctuation? For example, a better way to state your request would be, "Does anyone have any girl and dog porn? I'm horny." Thank you.

  • @whoiswhobutwho

    -sigh-

  • @hotsugargirl God didn't create humans though.

  • @Spanky989 Agreed!... it's so easy to point fingers and PBS's obvious bias is what worsens everything. People like him make me sick.. he's a phony.

  • R.I.P. TIM

  • thumbs up if you want a direkt link to your favorite list back on the youtube homepage!!!

  • @Diamantfilms OMG, yes! Why did they have to change that... It's really annoying now!

  • @JustGameKid Thank You for saying that!! PBS is no different, in fact he is worse.. just another creepy liberal "acting" and "appearing" to care. With all liberals it's the appearance.. just as long it was done with "good Intentions" regardless of what fallout comes from it.

  • @x1k2ka ya.. but he didn't start out saying that.... he instantly purposely pointed fingers... and he was totally wrong.. so let's see if he will man up and admit he made a crass generalization.

  • RIP

And this is world is so f*cked up =(

  • RIP, Tim. The world, unfortunately, is not ready for good change.

  • On April 20, 2011, the world lost a brilliant journalist, cinematographer, and documentarian, among other things. Restrepo was the most incredible picture of US troops in Afghanistan I have ever seen, it changed everything I thought about the war. Tim Hetherington, your genius will truly be missed.

  • Tim was tragically killed on 20th April 2011 while covering the conflict in Libya. A terrible loss.

To leave condolences for Tim, please visit timhetherington . org

  • do not dislike this video.. LIKE so others will see.

  • Atrocities? Maybe that's why it's called WAR, you think? Clean your own back yard before you start spreading shame on those who probably couldn't point out Liberia on a map. We aren't to blame for what foreigners do to each other while we're at work providing for our families.

  • @20alphabet Kudos

  • RIP handsome

  • Love just reading posts, hell an hour on youtube converts to 1yr of school, look at all these facts scattered about. Brainyacts...

  • Where's James Bond when you need him?

  • He sure was a great reporter.. Taken way too soon.. I'm sure he is looking down from heaven and hoping the world changes for the better..We all need to WAKE UP!!

  • holy shit guy at 0:37 is epic.

  • who is this cracker

  • Tim is one of the few journalists that were as tough as the soldiers and fighters they were following. he could have died at any moment during the filming of Restrepo. he could have died during his time living with the rebel group in Liberia. but unfortunately he died in Misrata, Libya during the protests. most "journalists" today are not as brave and flee the country if they ever find themselves in the way of turmoil. they never get the full story yet talk about it like they've seen it all

  • When i was 16 i could of been married to a wonderful Italian in 2 weeks time but i was scared cuz of the wedding night cuz i was a virgin but then i got pregnant a month later by a diff man and he left for uni so i slept with his sister and just pretend she was him. now i'm preg with Lil Wayne's baby oh and my dad who is from florida is so mad!! xx

  • I feel like a dick for not knowing what the fuck Liberia is.

  • The majority of Americans are truly self centered ass holes who thinks that American idol or some other bullshit that is shown on television is way more important than getting educated about issues around the globe that in fact affect us in major ways. Just because it doesn't happen here in this country doesn't mean that it doesn't affect us. Get informed about shit that really matters folks. Peace

  • Who can you just dislike this videos?

  • hello people how are you?

  • but is it all Europe fault no, because Africa used to be a very strong continent filled with a melting pot of cultures they had kings, queens, libraries, govt, ect. Because the African people fell for it.... You know? They allowed for foreign men to tell them how to live, what to do, and what weapons they can use. The fell for the pushed hatred agianst people who once used to be very similiar and live together...So they still do need help but they also need to help themselves.

  • @tofugodess12 Yeah, its all Europe's fault. Guess what idiot, slave trade existed in Africa from THE DAWN OF TIME. There were a lot of tribes, a lot of fighting and wars between a lot of chieftains. At some point, the Zulu became the most powerful tribe and killed and raped their way to power... and all other tribes were doomed to be slaves. Actually, the people who sold slaves actually bought them from the tribal leaders. Didn't catch them themselves. A strong continent? Bullshit.

  • @Migueria did you even read my comment clearly i said it wasnt purely europes fault. && yes Africa was a strong nation. & yes africa did enslave their own people and rape them and murder them. But what nation hasnt. No one said that europe came over to a foriegn land & took slaves. my comment mentioned nothing of slaves or slavery for that matter. Clearly I know about kings enlslaving neigboring tribes & selling them to the europeans for easy access to new weaponry and technology.

  • Ok so here is what Europe did to Africa. The created countries that were formally together, they brought in modern technology that created some greedy people who were willing to sell humans for these goods, they colonized them but then revoked their colonization with no laws or people set in place so this created an unstructured & corrupt govt., the spread new diseases to the African people, and they created conflicts by trying to created a social&power hierarchy through physical characteristics

  • Still the most critical question: Who does supply and Where does all this ammunition that kill so many lives... come from. Who allows them the licence to manufacture and are THEY NOT THE REAL WAR CRIMINALS?

  • Moolies

  • Check out my channel for best uncensored mms scandal

  • Fame < Infamy

  • Youtube is getting boring.

  • RIP.

  • Tim's stories and sensitive photos telling of injustices in Libya shine a spotlight on an area of the world few really know about. RIP Tim... He is a true hero.

  • It's tragic to watch someone with such a wonderfully rationale and insightful view on the world and it's terrible evils and to know he was eventually a victim of them himself. RIP

  • An inspiration.....Tim's accomplished so much....it's quite tragic that he died the way he did....may his soul rest in peace.

  • R.I.P. Tim. You were great. <3

  • How did he pass away?

  • @Brian567899 He was killed on the front lines in Libya last month.

  • Amazing L96A1 montage in my favorites

  • It says in his own words but I use these same words when I talk so he is using words that everyone else is using.

  • @eddo1983 That's... probably one of the dumbest things I've read today. The day is still young, tho. Bring it on, internet!

  • @Bunji2k6 its just a joke...you know what i mean? "In your own words" is just and expression or saying but does anyone really think about it. Do you have your own words?

  • @eddo1983 Yea, I know that it's an expression. There's nothing there to "think" about. Do I have my own words? I've not fallen into the habit of making up words myself, no. I usually get my words from dictionaries, so their meanings are general knowledge. You come off as sounding like a pseudo-philosopher.

  • my word, what an incredible loss! RIP, Tim. it wasn't in vain....

  • Bullshit...just one less Western propaganda tool on this earth

  • Wow, very telling pictures. Good information. Way more meaningful stuff than what is often posted on youtube. A brave and caring person indeed.

  • Restrepo was an amazing experience. I don't know how the man was able to find such beauty in darkness.

  • I don't understand why people would dislike this my goodness... Haters these days.

  • Back2l1fe29

  • I'm sorry; what a loss - may he rest in peace and be remembered for these powerful, moving stories of life far removed from ours. He's made a great contribution to the world.

  • R.I.P. Tim Hetherington.

  • really sucks that he's dead, would of loved to have seen more work from him

  • Notice that a video this important only gets 20K hits after years..yet videos of Linsday Lohan getting arrested gets millions in a few days...

This is the perfect example of what's wrong with Western culture..maybe humanity in general.

  • @PBScenarioScene Because if people want news they go to CNN dipshit, when people want entertainment, we come to youtube, shut the fuck up.

By the way, Restrepo is my favorite movie of all time.

  • @Phsycoticdude I'd like to point out you're a blatant idiot, so maybe you should kindly shut the fuck up and then realize that society is also fucked up because we (society) obviously value mindless entertainment lacking any intelligence whatsoever, more than issues such as this. Also, Youtube is not strictly for entertainment you moron. Do you even know what website helped spread the awareness of the Middle East protests? I'll give you one hint: you're on it right now.

  • @Phsycoticdude Kudo's brother!

  • @PBScenarioScene I couldn't agree more!!!! My friends and I actually have an expression that conveys this sentiment. When we see someone who is concerned with Hollywood and celebreality and all that crap we say they're "worried about Lindsay Lohan's new dress." Maybe we should say they're "worried about Lindsay Lohan's new arrest." Anyway, I truly think this obsession/distraction that western society has with celebrity and material possessions will be the downfall of our society as we know it.

  • @rygy82 This is what I don't get...you people sit there and say us "western" cultures is so obessed with Hollywood when every other fuckin country with media is exactly the fuckin same. Go to the U.K. who has the media coverage like us and you will find out that the people there do the same thing. You can't just say its us cause thats not true what so ever. Go around the world and you will find the SAME exact thing but like I said as long as the country has media coverage.

  • @DBOWNIZZ I think you misunderstood my meaning of WESTERN. Usually when people talk about the West in the global sense, Europe is included in that, hence Middle East or Far East. Trust me I know it's the same in the UK, I've seen British television.

  • @PBScenarioScene i agree

  • @PBScenarioScene 200 years ago, the Brits and the French owned most of Africa. There was no internal war, no tribal factions, no genocide... they gave these people a written language, modern medicine, schools and cities... and then these very people called the brits and the french and the dutch oppressors and racists and murderers, once they knew the words. Now that these authorities are out of Africa, it has resorted back to what it was before, a savage jungle of violence. No more intervention.

  • @Migueria u my friend are fucking crazy. We called (past tense intended) the brits oppressors because they mistreated us, caused internal wars (the policy of divide and rule), created two sets of people (the brits and the 'worthless'), and genocide occured alot. You need to brush up your histroy. India had education, modern medicene, a written language, lots of cities even before the brits. I'm not saying the colonization by the brits was completely useless but it had A LOT of disadvantages.

  • @IndiaJacob Really? Well lets just see. did you have railroads by any chance? How about industry? What about those fine 18th century indian universities like Oxford and Cambridge... oh wait, those were in England. So in all honesty, 18th century India (morgol empire) was pretty much like 12th century Europe in terms of economy and society. Being part of a super-power had its advantages. The native indians who helped form india were taught in England. as well as other benefits.

  • @Migueria We did have industry. That's the brits even colonosed our country. The oldest university in the world is from India- Nalanda University. I dont think UK had railroads when they colonized India either cuz it was invented in the 19th century. And i think u mean Mughal not Morgol. Lastly, i will agree with you as far as UK being more economically stable but every civilization has its highs and lows. We were at our high when the west went thought the dark ages.

  • @IndiaJacob Craftsmen and workshops do not equal industry. The oldest university is not the best university. I said that the finest universities of that time, and our time, are found in Europe (and the US now). Yeah, railroads were invented in the 19th century. And had India not been an European colony, it would not have had them. Like other asian countries. The difference is that nobody helped us get past our low. And even at our low, we were never outmatched or conquered by anyone.

  • @Migueria No one tried to conquer u because unlike the brits we wern't hungry for power. We will nvr know if railroads wud hav been der if we we'rnt a colony or otherwise. But dat doesn't remove d fact dat Indians were not allowed to use them. Sure Cambridge is better than Nalanda but the point is we had a system of education long before you did. India was a place where hindus and muslims lived together in harmony untill the brits came along. As i recall, the church wasn't really as accepting.

  • @Migueria Also the university you go to certainly is not the oldest or the best, if you are the result of it

  • @IndiaJacob never said it was the best. But it is up there among the top of its kind. However, your ad hominem is taken into consideration. I find your stupidity and ignorance quite insulting. muslims and hindus lived in harmony before the british took over india? who told you that lie? What do the british have to do with muslims or hindus? the british are a nationality, not a religion. Idiot. The Christian religion was spread all over the world, in Japan and China too. Not just in the colonies.

  • @Migueria (PART 1) first of all i never said you said it was the best. That was my ssumption. Second The British came to India and followed the Policy of Divide and Rule. They sided with the Muslims in the beginning instigating them against the Hindus due to rising Hindu nationalism which was because of people like Rani Lakshmi Bai. I never said British was a nationality i said the British came to India and corrupted our entire knowledge of Equality.

  • @Migueria (PART 2) This is not about Christianity but about the magnitude of suppression that church carried out in those days. Christianity is a great religion but there is a reason why the Reformation began and that was due to the overwhelming authority that the Church held in those days. Things are completely different now but the fact that you think you're a superior race is bigotry in its very definition and this is the reason we have hate in this world.

  • @IndiaJacob In reference to the embarrassing exposé done between you and the other individual, this paragraph has more value than anything previously stated. Well put and I'd choose to ignore the self-proclaimed,"free thinker" as described in his channel, for he states beforehand that his only interests are of "european" concern. Arrogant of him to say the least!

  • @williegotpwned I know some of my previous comments were very non-debaty, if that's even a word. I got pissed and when you're pissed you say stupid things. If this were a real debate i would not have said ALOT of things like the reference to his personal life. Thanks for the support anyway. :) But since this is not a real debate...fuck Migueria and his stupid brain. Freedom of speech RULZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!

  • @IndiaJacob Where did I ever mention that Europeans are a superior race? I have never witnesses signs of superiority between 2 individuals of any color... how can there be superiority in regard to races. Thats just the media talking through you to shut me down. When losing an debate, yell: NAZI RACIST; and you get instant win. Also, hate does not stem from Europe.. it has always existed. It is human to hate a lot of things. I can name a few massacres done by muslim fanatics in asia.

  • @Migueria Let me add further this example. If I would be a man with many problems. like health problems, or I freedom problems... or smth. And somebody would come along and solve those problems for me (indeed, some other, smaller ones would remain), then I would be thankful and supportive of that man forever. Now I cannot expect somebody to solve all my problems... or solve problems created in the process. But I would be an asshole to blame him for the continual existence of all my other problms

  • @Migueria I'm waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to bored today to debate so you win, i lose. Everyone's happy. But i suggest you should hate Rebecca Black's 'Friday' if anything. Peace out. Word. \m/

  • @Migueria *this was not a debate. Replace that word with argument. Shasizzle.

  • @PBScenarioScene And now, thanks to mass immigration in Europe, it is facing: mass murder, rape and theft. An increase in drunk and violent behavior, drug usage and school failure and dropout. A downfall of the health system and an over-usage of the welfare system. And the only reason why these things are not told is because out of fear of being called: racists or nazis. In Sweden, over 1.5mil crimes are committed anually, 99% of which are from immigrants. No more intervention from Europe!!

  • @Migueria First of all, a lot of the countries in Europe have strict immigration laws like Germany and Russia, hence there population is decreasing(which also means natality is small).Second 99%??? Wanna hear another statistic: 99% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Also the only reason these things are not told is because ur d oly one who has these opinions.

  • @IndiaJacob This figure is not some crappy opinion poll. It is the sumation of all the crimes cases that have been done from 2009-2010. Over 1.5mil crimes in Sweden, almost all done by immigrants or people of immigrant background. Do you know why? Because the swedish people know that hurting one another only results in hurting themselves at a larger level. Rob a man of his car and a means of getting one... then when the need to use a car rises, he may just take one from another. And so on...

  • @Migueria Well in that case the Swedish people should teach the immigrants what they've learnt in their years of democratic freedom to the people who were raised and brought up in places where luxuries such as food and water and a bed were not readily available. I don't care much about this though cuz its not my country so i dnt give a damn. But as far as ur odr comments r concerned India is definitely involved.

  • @PBScenarioScene and to top it all... Europeans mistake was to go to africa and colonize (modernize) it. Big fucking mistake. Before, they were killing one another with clubs and spears. Now, despite being given the tools and opened the door to civilization, they are killing one another with AK47's and rocker launchers. This is our mistake. We should have never colonized Africa or the ME. let them solve their own problems since they are very pleased with blaming us for all their problems.

  • @Migueria Afghanistan, before the soviet invasion, was probably one of the most accepting countries. You had women celebrites, politicians and everything. People were happy and contempt. Only after the invasion, did extremism come into place. This is the result of the cold war, which obviosly had nothing to do with the non-aligned nations. However, extremism is not the fault of the West, its the fault of the extremist groups that seized the chance to gain power.

  • @PBScenarioScene Well said, /hat

  • @PBScenarioScene Very true and it is very sad that your statement is in fact true. That lets you know how ignorant and dumb down people really are here in the US.

  • @jrda128 fuck you.. creep... USA steps up to the plate more than any other country on this planet....I'm so smart I can see what a liar you are. As if YouTube is only viewed in the USA.... what lies what bullshit. Your clear BIAS only makes you look like the Liberal Creep you are.

  • @PBScenarioScene youtube = escapism. people come here to get away from real life. not to get more depressed.

  • @PBScenarioScene it's not just western culture as much as it's internet culture...& the pointless value that we put on the number of views or hits a video get...Just cuz Lohan gets mills & this video gets thousands doesnt mean people don't care that just mean people who now the name Lohan watched the vid & the people who do live on line might have logged on to see lohan cuz they know the name....What I'm sayin is many factors go into it & it not just one thing

  • @PBScenarioScene what a creep you are.....you act as if only Western cultures can view this... so much for your myopic view....seems your so-called human rights followers ARE NOT viewing this....normally I wouldn't comment, but when I see lies like this I have to tell you off creep. Truth is whenever tragedy happens in any country, the first country they call on for help is the USA... even countries who do no like the USA call on us first.

  • @PBScenarioScene why does this commentary only have 72 likes?? it should have a 1000 more

  • @PBScenarioScene How is something wrong with Western Culture? We cool lol. He's reporting on shit outside of the west.

In the past, people bitched about us trying to be the world police now you guys want us to be and even then you bitch. We're trying to mind our business if you let us.

  • @PBScenarioScene I think it's humanity in general. Absolutely pathetic clowns from the Jersey Shore get more press than what this man tried to document.

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616

    Yeah it's sad.

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 Welcome to america.

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 That's only a commentary on the united states, I suppose the west in general too but most of humanity is pretty well removed from Jersey Shore.

  • ha, i clicked on this because i thought it looked like jim from the office

  • @ginty019 Ok... u just proved PBScenarioScene right.

  • @IndiaJacob okay well you're welcome, i guess? but i wasn't commenting about the video i was just commenting because it was funny to me at the time, alright? relax :)

  • @ginty019 Finally i meet someone on youtube who has both a brain and loves hollywood. Do you know how hard it is to find someone who has both qualities!!!! :)

  • @IndiaJacob on youtube? yes haha and also I don't see anything wrong in wanting to support a fine program like the office

  • such an amazing man.

  • im pretty sure he didnt use his own words, i believe he used the words everyone else uses lol. but as george carlin would have said. ur fuckin dead get over it :P

  • Wait what about Fank West. He covered wars ya know

  • @Greg1293 You want a comprehensive list of videos for all the hundreds of killed journalists, or just your faves, or what? Stay classy.

  • R.I.P.

  • restrepo was fuckin epic..thanks man

  • war is ugly.

im sad of your death. but am also proud to call you a hero. Thank you tim for all youve done.

    may you rest in peace

  • Tim Hetherington is an inspiration, a real hero. i was so sad when I first heard he died, and still am. He was a great man who died before his time. R.I.P. Tim.

  • PEACE

  • lets see...another reporter brutally killed and dismembered at the hands of a group of sand niggers?...what else is new?..i dont know who this tim guy is..but why would anyone ith an IQ greater than 2 would want to go to a 3rd world country to report on a civil war that is being led by thugs and hoolagans? why? why not just stay safe at home in AMERICA? fuck those dirty, little, pepper smelling, muslims. the middle east will NEVER be free..the only way to end the cancer is to nuke the savages!!

  • @HAARPproductions

The biggest problems with Africa stem from the same exact nationalist, xenophobic ignorance spewin out your mouth. And you thought they were different from you...how cute...

Oh btw, Liberia is literally on the opposite side of Africa that's nearest the middle east. I know you still have no clue what the fuck i'm talking about, so I'll dumb it down: Your comment is hilariously sad, its like saying you want to nuke Mexico because of violence in Maine... yeah, stupid right?

  • @HAARPproductions you sir are an ass

  • Is Liberia in debt to the World Bank?

  • He died doing his passion...

    R.I.P. Tim

  • /watch?v=0IyhnhDdC-k&feature=related

I still feel sorry for this man. he did nothing wrong

  • Wonder how many more thousands of years it will take for these monkeys to be civilized.

  • @PREM00SE umm... what??!?!

  • May God Bless your soul! R.I.P.

  • What did you expect a nigger infested Country?

to be fair were not all like this not good to generalize us all
