6:33 is Dwight Stones WR @ Franklin Field, PA. during on August 4, 1976, just a month after his Bronze at Montreal. World Record: High Jump - 2.32m = 7' 7.25"
Yes, it was understated at best. He had just perfomed poorly at the Montreal games (finishing third w/ a 2.23) after being the odds on favorite to win the Gold Medal as he was the reigning WR holder at the time with a 2.31 (7'7") jump and was ranked #1 in the world in '73 '74, 75 and 76. After setting the new record in PA, it was as if he was almost disgusted, saying "WHY did it HAVE to rain in Montreal?
I am very glad to find your new phantastic straddle video.
Very rare material from Henry Lauterbach on 8:47 - he was a very good long jumper too. His personal best in high vs. long jump was 2,31 m and 8,35 m. I can´t remember that any other athlet was able to do that.
I had such a crush on her! I still remember like a yesterday when she jumped 2.00. I remember so many details from that night... It was a magic moment for me. I hope she also can enjoy it every day. Thank you Rosie!
grandiose video ! thanks to bilhj2 !!
I saw the 2,28 m of the cosmic in original !!! never will forget it.

Thanks for posting. Obviously, not all straddlers (Meyfarth and Stones and Balas didn't straddle), but some truly beautiful straddle jumps in there!

Awesome, thanks heaps for that. Wasn't sure if it was a WR because his immediate reaction after the clearance seems a bit understated!

Did I see a young Ralf Bielschmidt (forgive the spelling) in there near the end?

@dctbass:
Near the end on 8:50 you see Henry Lauterbach.
Footage from Rolf Beilschmidt is very rare.
Unfortunately I havent found any vids from Beilschmidt until now on youtube.
