It's be funny if it wasn't so true. When Phil Ochs wrote this, you could laugh or cry, but you couldn't ignore the tragedy taking place in Vietnam, and eventually, in America.
Over 58,000 American kids were killed in Vietnam, and probably a million Vietnamese. Had it not been for songs like those written like Ochs, and a protest movement that grew to involve millions, those number could have easily doubled or tripled.
The protesters were the patriots, which was *exactly* the case with Iraq.
