Great Post.....reminds me of my teens going to a youth center and dancing to this song which expressed the way I felt about the girl I was dancing with... and the next day whistle the tune.....try doing that with today's music.....
Hello Gene & Darlene hope You are both doing Great. Sure would Love to here You sing one more time. It's been since the Days when I worked at Henry's not it is Henry's/ Gilley's. He has made the back like Gilley's and the front is Henry's {friend from Mandie's and Henry's. Linda
Grooved and danced to this one at one of my first dances in jr. hi. GREAT melody! Thanks much Groovetown for posting it!
The "oldies" sound with its familiar chord progression was pretty prominent in the late 50s and 60s and its the hallmark of "Sometimes" excellently sung by Gene Thomas. Seems like its getting a comeback, e.g., listen to the up and coming rock band, Kings of Leon, and their original hit tune, "Mary". Good stuff doesn't just fade away, it continues to inspire, imho :)
Great dance song. Brings back wonderful memories. Nothing like it today.

I always did like this record. It was a moderate here in OKC back in 1961. In fact, I got out my copy a few night s ago and played it. Good Post!
