Saw them debut this album I think in whitter ca in 1982 or 1983. They started to play but blew the fuses at the club so we all had to come back following day in afternoon and see them again. Great show great album great band!
I loved this record when I first heard it. I was mostly listening to Black Flag 'DAMAGED' (SIDE TWO) at the time. My older HC friends turned me on to it, and they listened to NOTHING but RAGING PISSED OFF HC (those who know, KNOW). My younger friends didn't like it (I understood... it was WAY different), but the older ones would INSTANTLY jump ANYONES shit who wanted to slag it. I recall futile attempts to figure out what kind of music might have inspired it. A 60's feel, but I'm still at a loss
I bought this when it came out and sadly enough I couldn't appreciate it at the time because I would only listen to "hardcore". This is great, way ahead of its time.
Well, I'm not old enough so I wasn't around when TSOL was, but there was a time too when I only listened to hardcore, and when i listened to this, i was like WTF?
Some years later and i think it's even better than Dance With Me. Beneath The Shadows is a true piece of art.
this is one of tsol's best albums ever. i remeber this one for the 80's and it still pulls emoitions deep from within me to remember the old school vangards of punk!!!!!!!!!!
this is one of the best albums ever! i wish tsol would not have broken up after this album, i wish they would have stayed a band then put out more material that sounded like this, true talent!!!
it's nice to know who ur friends r... epiphany.

A very cool, original sounding album
from these guys. A bit of horror-punk
mixed with synth-pop, with undeniable
undertones of psychedelia. Ya, put that
in your pipe and toke out :)

@charliegrs Yup. One of the best albums to listen to after a breakup, when wallowing in self-pity is a good thing ...
