I could be wrong about this, but what makes me suspicious is that Joey Kocur looked to his right most of the time in the interview....and that makes me wonder if he was looking at cue-cards.
Kocur is the greatest k.o puncher ever. richter didn't land a shot ti'll joe went down from missing a punch and punched joe in the back of the head over and over. Kocur was in his rookie season. Watch the fight. Kocur lost some but won many.
@bigguedo I saw it the same way you did. The way it happened. I love how the assholes continue to say how Richter pummeled Kocur. When he missed with a punch and went down.
Did you ever see Kocur fight a lefty....Check out what Richter did to him, absolutely abused him. Kocur was tough, but lost his fair share, especially when he played in NY at the end of his career.
Do you ever noticed that Kocur was just a rookie when he fights Dave Richter. He was just a 18 years old guy. He was not on his prime. Anyway, everybody loses...even the best.
Neil Smith said that Kocur wouldn't hurt a fly off the ice. Not so sure about that; I remember in the 80s there were two different occaisions, once in Detroit and one in Boston, where it was reported that he had slapped around women. I think the one in Boston was a cocktail waitress he tried to pick up one night after a game. I guess she wouldn't give up the goods to Joey.
Pound for pound Kocur had the hardest right hand in the game, not even close. I loved that when Joey's hand was broken one season he fought exclusively lefty & still kicked ass!

Is there a version of this with the NFL, NBA and MLB content? I think it'd be interesting to see it.
