  • That note she hit at the end was the best part

  • I love Kristen's rendition here, but let me tell you young whippersnappers, Stephanie Mills has always been the best!

  • wether she's singing Dorothy, Glinda or Christine Daae (no joke - she played Christine! youtube it!) She's just pure amazing!

  • This was the first episode i watched. I was sitting on my couch with my strawberry milk and it was just a perfect night. I regretted not watching it from the beginning

  • This song brings ME home.. :)

  • God! I love Kristen Chenoweth. .. Her voice goes from her throat to my heart!

  • what episode is this in

  • @SerranoCuzins home

  • WOW! Kristin is the Best! She can sing any song and make it her own. She has a gift of musical expression. She can paint a picture with her singing. Her songs give off energy, and can at the same time leave you breathless. A very beautiful lady with an angelic voice. I wish her stage show would be put on high quality DVD. That DVD would sell like no other. Kristin is in a class all by herself. A SONG has no better friend than Kristin Chenoweth!!

  • the end is just like WOOOAAAHHH!!! <3

  • Correction: I have to sing this for an audition and I have no idea how I'm gonna hit those notes at the end.. Any suggestions? :\

  • I have to sing the for and

  • Even though I became an Orphan at the age of 8, & lived from foster home to foster home till 18. This song has so much meaning. Home is truly were the heart is. When you are around people who truly love you, Its the best feeling in the world. I remember my mom. Those were the best memories. Memories people take for granted way tooo much. Kids these days are way to spoiled. Bitching about not getting a exspensive cell phone or more money for the mall. Its like SHUT UP! at least you have perants!

  • horrible

  • @malt8291 hm.. I think I will believe your negative comment out of 190 positive ones, because of your strong arguments!

  • @malt8291 why?

  • @MimayHere HAHA no. Stephanie Mills sang this originally.

  • It... is... AWESOME!!!! 100% fantabulously-amazing!!!! ;D

  • The 7 people who didn't like this, Don't have a place to call "Home"

  • It sounds so powerful when Kristin sing it

  • Show Choir Camps of America just sang this song :) Van Cleave/Eck group aka Fierce Ferrai's <3 Tiffin, Ohio <3 i love you all

  • Best thing I've ever heard Kristin sing. Best song ever to come out of Glee. And one of my favorite recordings of all time. That's what I have to say.

  • Would be better if she didn't continually "stroke the glottis" and actually sing through, nice voice though.

  • Spine-tinglingly beautiful. This songs just builds and builds, absolutely amazing.

  • So beautiful...

  • @SouthernNYCgal I don't think you followed the conversation very well. That person was referring to the post of another person who said that Ashanti, Diana Ross, Stephanie Mills, and Jazmine Sullivan all sang it better and that this song "belongs to black people." Now, if anything, that might be a little racist.

  • I cant stop listening to this song... this so awesome...

  • kristins voice is sooooo amazing!

  • GOOSEBUMPS

  • i like dis song very much.......

  • :'( this song is so weet

  • i have a question: is it me or do i hear autotune on some parts?

  • @angelvoice235 its you :'O

  • @DanielMurphy94 i just look it up and it says they did. I'm not sure if the source is valid but still. I'm not the only weird one.

  • Chills on the high notes!!!!!!!!!!

  • OH! la voz de jristin chenoweth siempre me pone la piel chinitaaa :$ :D

  • I think I'm going to start watching glee, all for the sake of Kristin and Idina :) any objections or approvals?

  • @Gigglepud They're not main characters just so you know...they were only in a couple of episodes.

  • @alexijojo I figured, but thx 4 telling me anyway ^^ plus their waaaaay too old to be high school kids ;) even tho April Rhodes did go back to school for a few days :P

  • Just gave me chills!!!!!

  • Truly ear candy personified!

  • damn! she killed it. shoved that shit in the ground. and sauntered away.

  • that voice was awesome... specially the last word "HOME"

  • Do I hear Rachel or is that someone else? 1:50?? XD

  • AMAZING ITS SO GOOD LIKE OMG KRISTIN MADE A SMASH HIT ON THIS SONG

  • She sang here in L.A., a few months ago but I missed it!( I did see her in Wicked, and she was wonderful), so that will have to do for now.

  • not to be pushy but ca u get a real glee performace of this sog cuz o 1 else has 1 that has good quality an i was thinkin u can do it

  • i love this song im doing the wiz atm and the girl who plays dorothy sing this really well :')

  • She killed it!! Amazing job!

  • O_O omigoddd she has PIPES!

  • loved this kiristin did a good job

  • Ok, I just listened to the Stephanie Mills version A LOT more soulful! (Tried to add the link but YouTube won't let me).

  • I should have said she sang it in the stage play; Diana Ross sang it in the movie.

  • I thought no one could sing this song like Stephanie Mills did in the movie, The Whiz, .... until I heard Kristen Chinoweth sing it. Awesome!

  • What a pretty song :)

  • I love she has no autotune at all....

  • @BoiWonda02 yep, that cheno note is aaaaaaaaaaaaaall cheno............why cant i be her?!?!?! or at least an offspring of her?!

  • This song is amazing, and Kristin's performance just goes up and up and up! Wow!

  • ThatEmoGirl4 has an attitude problem. I dout she has the vocal range or personality as that of Kristen Chenoweth. Good luck Emogirl you will need it...what planet are you on the comment that "it couldn't be more wrong". Your ignorance is what is more wrong.

  • fantastic!!

  • Okay, I'm not trying to bash on Glee(Even though I don't like it), but I'm singing this song in chorus at my school, and this is just.......It couldn't be more wrong. That's all I'm gonna say. And to the people that are gonna tell me to not watch the video if I don't like it, I only clicked it cause our teacher told us to look for it on youtube. So...yeah. :/

  • Im doing a chilf fill a performance and the director asked that one of sing home from gle, so i lok it up and its a huge song! im gona start working on it! tahnsk for sharing :)

  • super version!

  • I love this song! i am singing this for my musical theatre exam in may! x

  • u know u messed up it said glowing u said growing.!

  • Kristin Chenoweth is a beast.

    Just saying.

  • Absolutely 100% ear candy and is it ever good !!! Kristin is an awsome vocal force and I love hearing her really put the Opera training to full use. WOW...

  • Absolutely 100% ear candy and is it ever good !!! Kristin is an awsome vocal force and I love hearing her really puts the Opera training to full use. WOW...

  • When I hear that song I feel im home

  • @phipho22 well excuse me for having an opinon! i never said it belongs to black people i simply said that it should be sung by them. And you can think that this version is perfect but vocal wise it sucks ass she cant match the soulfulness that it need nor the notes. She is a great singer but not for this song. And in my opinion compared to the songs that i metioned it stands no chance.

  • @MrBoudreaux65 you say an opinion and then say that this version "sucks ass" as a fact, it's pretty simple: if you like the black version then just keep listening that one and don't come back here. I prefer Cheno's version, she can't do any wrong.

  • @phylosaccount Why are you calling Diana's and Stephanie's "the black version"? that's pretty racist. It's a different version...This song transcends race.

  • @SouthernNYCgal what? WHAT? now calling black people black is racist? How do you want me to call them? purple? And anyway you obviously got picky because you can't read, I said "black version" because that's what the douche I was replying to called it, or that it belongs to black people, some crap like that.

  • this version sucks ass. diana ross and stephanie mills rocked the hell out of this song. Kristen you may be good in other songs but this is just a dissappointment. Jazmine sullivan at 9yrs old was even better than this! Ashanti also did a great version. Basically black people own this song and it should just be sung by our grand soulful voices.

  • @MrBoudreaux65 you are an idiot. Music doesn't BELONG to anyone. I'd put this version against any one of the versions you mentioned. If Diana Ross' version was that superior there would have been more than 11 people that went to see that bomb The Wiz. When she made that hideous movie she was well past her prime. Stephanie Mills I am more than willing to concede did an incredible job in the original broadway show. If Jazmine Sullivan was anygood she wouldn't be singing at the NY Sheraton.

  • this is amazing , but mi freind at drama is better , not trying 2 behorrible

  • FLAWLESS!!!!!

  • Wonderful. <3

  • She obviously does the best version of the song.

  • This...track... is... amazing! ♥♥♥

  • My fave song on glee. ever.

  • Oh dear Lord. I'm Dorothy in my school's production of The Wiz. How the hell am I supposed to sound anything like this?!

  • @missroxypoxy oh my.... :)

  • i ♥ the note @ the end..... :)

  • Beautiful song! I'd never heard of it before. Thanks for posting!

  • kristin is amazing, she is one of the most talented singers out there! when i found out she was going to be on glee i was so happy, then Idina was on and it go better! in my opinion their the best people ever! their so talented ! :)

  • Didn't like it at all! Stephanie Mills, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Ashanti; all did better. This was just...no!

  • love this song but i HATE the massive 'homeeeee' on the end, ruins it for me

  • Stephanie by far!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she tore this song UP!

  • This girl is good but can not top Diana Ross :/

  • Her version is the best. I appreciate Stephanie Mills and Diana Ross' versions, but Kristin just... it's magical.

  • Sooo DIVINE !!! Love it!

  • I THINK I JUST CRIED AFTER WATCHING!!!!

  • So, Will used to have a crush on Glinda, but ended up making out with Elphaba? Damn.

  • CHENO NOTE!!!!! :DDDDDD MADE ME VERY HAPPY SHE IS SO AMAZING!!!!

  • Idina Menzel+Kristin Chenowith+Same Episode= Life Completion!

  • @stardusth2o think so to makes me think of wicked.

    the chemistry was spectacular!!

  • I prefer the original version. To hear it, see the Featured video on my page.

  • I use her songs from Glee to help me sleep at night, sometimes this music is the only thing that soothes me. It just takes me to another place.

  • I started watching glee b/c I love chenzel! I hope they have some sort of rivalry in seson 2

  • this song makes me cry every time, lol. Love Kristin Chenoweth! :)

  • I like that this version had the parts to the song that weren't in the actual episode.

  • She may be been an unnessary appearance on the "Home" episode (hey, she was back mostly because of her popularity), BUT IT DOES NOT DETRACT FROM HER PERFORMANCE! She definitely sings this with plenty of souls...

Now if she could just come back for the Wicked movie.

  • i love this song!!!!

  • I so knew the Glinda song was coming in the "Home" episode as soon as I saw her

  • @biblegirl Glinda song? I don't think there was a Wicked song in that episode... lol

  • @suckerforacoustic66 No, "Home" is the Glinda song from "The Wiz" which was an obvious reference to "Wicked"

  • @biblegirl Well, yeah that's what I figured you meant. But I'm pretty sure Dorothy was the one who sang "Home." Which was partially why I was confused as well.

  • @suckerforacoustic66 The reprise is Glinda, at least where I saw it they did that

  • idk why but the beginning always reminds me of christmas

  • @litojonny is it the chimes? I always think the same thing, lol

  • Weren't both Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel in the musical Wicked?

  • @SummerGirlProduction Yes, they were the first Glinda and Elphaba! The very original witches of oz.

  • @SummerGirlProduction Yep they were! Kristin played Glinda, and Idina played Elphaba. :D

  • @SummerGirlProduction They're the original Glinda and Elphaba respectively

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I absolutely love Kristin chenoweth. She is amazing

  • i love kristin! shes so funny and talented

  • great cover of this song!!

  • I love The Wiz!!!!

  • The Wiz is just an amazing movie :P

  • I admire the group but when I heard that they acquired Charice Pempengko, I was disgusted. Maybe I wont listen to the group again!

  • @davecanseco Why?? what's wrong with Charice?

  • @davecanseco- why? charice is one of the most talented kid singers in the world right now. jealous of her i expect

  • wow!

    I haven't words for this!

  • she sounds so amazing in this song...it's just so beautiful what talent god has blessed her with.....I love Kristin Chenoweth singing this......

  • cheno notee! <33

  • Wonderful, emotional episode. Kristen was fabulous and made for incredible TV.

  • God. She is so freaking good it's not even funny.

  • @TBevz Have you heard her F6? Now that's a note! She does it at the end of "Thank Goodness" in Wicked.

  • the last time I heard this song was 25 years ago...I was just about seven or eight and I was at gleek club. I loved this song. the years went by I forgot this song but I still humm one liners but I couldn't finish even a stanza, couldn't remember what song or who sang it even. Then on a radio while driving i heard this tune and i couldn't believe it this was the song. Never watched glee until I found out this song was in it. Brought the child back in me...life indeed.

  • in LOVE

  • I've always loved Kristin Chenoweth. One of the two reasons why I started watching Glee. The other being Idina Menzel. They're two of the best singers in Broadway. =D

  • @inthedark1439 totally agreed :)

  • @cherryblossomlm totally agree with you

  • @inthedark1439 - omg me too!! the first ep i watched of glee was when kristin first guest-starred. :) if it weren't for her, i wouldn't have watched glee until idina guest-starred :P

  • @inthedark1439 someone's a wicked fan, i think... hahaha me too!

  • @jacknewsie1 Yeah. Wicked rocks. \m/

  • @inthedark1439 lea michele from spring awakening was my reason

  • @inthedark1439 I agree!! Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel make the show !! I kindaa wish they could have done something together on the show! maybee even something from wicked ?!

  • @xoxbethbrooksxox FOR GOOD

  • @Dracomalfoychat yeah loools

  • look for the ear;iest stephanie mills version of this.she was 16& was very pure in her sound

  • Thx>.<

  • Who's the original singer?

Wonderful song anyways. And Kristin is awesome!

  • @hiper95 Stephanie Mills

  • @hiper95 Stephanie Mills then Diana Ross in the 1980s film version.

  • You know how usually the first person that sings the song is the best and no matter what you always think the original is better (usually) well Kristin blew this out... I mean I don't understand octaves or w/e but this makes your hair stand so obviously its more than your ears but your soul reacting to her voice...

  • KRISTIN I LOVE U SO MUCH!!

  • Kristin's C6 is amazing! (That is, the C two octaves above middle C.) I know that's what the last note is because I have perfect pitch.

  • @alika207 I'ts such an incredible note, and it sounds great in this song! And I'm so jealous of your perfect pitch :P although you kinda don't need perfect pitch to know it's C6 since Kristin's kinda famous for doing it...

  • @alika207 That is correct - :)
