get hit on the eye by a ball and you won't have an eye anymore XD...shit happens at squash...playing it for 4 years now...recently i got a racquet against my teets (bam broken teeth XD, though fixed again) and i volleyed a ball, right at the place my opponent walked to and BANG against his glasses...the sound was as if the sglasses broke, luckily not...but he was dizzy cause of it XD....
i must say it is necessary, but you cannot protect everything and sometimes the glasses are rlly annoying.
Why don't more women gravitate to squash. In my city, which isn't a squash mecca but has decent organization, there are virtually no women players. But the public tennis park where I play, there are lots and lots of women tennis players. Is this something that the US Squash Organization is addressing.
I agree the glasses is making squash look like a close relative to racquetball. Ouch on that one.
Tennis will always be king of the racquet sports. Long live Pistol Pete Sampras!!!!!
wearing eye guards appears to be a good idea - but it must be terribly uncomfortable

@Jimawamba - I played paddleball and once got smacked in the eye with a shot. Luckily there was no damage but it was doggone painful.
Safety first!
