@linkinpark0526 it sets it up for succeeding novels, Pettigrew escapes and helps bring voldemort back to his body. If harry had let Lupin and Sirius kill Pettigrew the remaining novels would not have happened.

This is hands down my favourite Harry Potter film. I'm always surprised to hear that it's the lowest grossing Hp film, however it's the 30th highest. So many people like this, yet it isn't as successful as the rest. I love this film so much, not just as a Harry Potter film, but as a film in general <3

@auag19 Yeah I was a student back when I was reading the books too. I was 10 actually, for the first 4. I had to annoy my parents to no end to get them to me, but half of the times I borrowed them from other people who had them. And yes ink and paper are always better. @auag19 The plan was to make Sirius the protector(because Sirius and James were like brothers), but at the last minute, Sirius suggested that instead Peter should be the guardian, because noone would suspect him since he was always the less talanted and popular of the four. Peter betrayed them and everyone thought Sirius had betrayed them. They had a fight,Peter feigned his own death,turned into a rat and ended up with the Weasleys and Sirius went to Azkaban for the murders. Read the books!!!
@omkar415star First you have to think of how going back in time for the 3rd novel works: all the "changes" Harry and Hermione do, have already been done. We never see Buckbeak die, Harry sees himself cast the PAtronus, somebody warns them that Fudge is coming(in the film) etc. So nothing really changes, the things they did when going back in time have already happened. And since his parents are dead there's not changing that(I hope I make sense)
@omkar415star And in any way, timeturners are limited and controlled by the Ministry, so he doesnt just have one all the time. And all the timeturners are destroyed in the 5th book if I remember correctly.

I was watching the film the other day and at the start of the film, i only just noticed but Harry keeps on using magic and saying 'Lumos' to see his homework. I couldn't believe J. K. Some of the happeist memories of my childhood consisted of reading a Harry Potter book. It's a lifestyle folks.

I started to cry while I was watching this, don't think I'm over emotional but suddenly I remembered the times how I was in love with the series, and how much I grew up, I mean my world changed as all of yours did and not in a good way (I mean Twilight of course) :(

So let me get this straight. The reason why Harry;s parents are dead is because of the rat? (I don't remember his name) Because from what I understood, the prisoner and the werewolf are good people. So what;s the deal with the rat? Is it partly his fault?

@auag19 the rat is an Animagus called Peter Petigrew. Peter, Harry's dad James, the "prisoner" Sirius, and the warewolf Remus were best friends at Hogwarts.They called themselves the Marauders and made the Marauder's map, which allows you to see everyone inside the castle. When Harry's parents went into hiding coz Voldemort was after them, they did a very powerful protective charm, which had a living guardian.Meaning that only their protector knew where they were and could reveal it. @BadBloodwillout ow waw, what a plot. I just started looking at all the movies in order. That's why I didn't quite understand. I just saw Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince." Made me a bit confused because I forgot who James was. He treated Snape pretty bad when they were in High School. And trust me I would read the books if I could but they are quite difficult to find here on the Island I live in. But hopefully, I'll read the series before I die.

@BadBloodwillout Well I will, but if you lived here you would feel the same way. All the bookstores are extremely expensive. I'm still a student, so I can't give myself many luxuries, because I don't work. The library has been closed for a year now.... :( And I hate reading it electronically. I don't know, I'm weird like that. I like reading a book in paper, preferably with a hard cover. But anw, nice chatting with you. Toodles!

@auag19 Yeah I was a student back when I was reading the books too. I was 10 actually, for the first 4. I had to annoy my parents to no end to get them to me, but half of the times I borrowed them from other people who had them. And yes ink and paper are always better. There has to be someone you know who has the HP books. I hope at least. Sucks your local library's closed though. Anyways, hope you get the chance to read them :) bb

@auag19 The plan was to make Sirius the protector(because Sirius and James were like brothers), but at the last minute, Sirius suggested that instead Peter should be the guardian, because noone would suspect him since he was always the less talanted and popular of the four. Peter betrayed them and everyone thought Sirius had betrayed them. They had a fight,Peter feigned his own death,turned into a rat and ended up with the Weasleys and Sirius went to Azkaban for the murders. Read the books!!!

@omkar415star First you have to think of how going back in time for the 3rd novel works: all the "changes" Harry and Hermione do, have already been done. We never see Buckbeak die, Harry sees himself cast the PAtronus, somebody warns them that Fudge is coming(in the film) etc. So nothing really changes, the things they did when going back in time have already happened. And since his parents are dead there's not changing that(I hope I make sense)

@omkar415star And in any way, timeturners are limited and controlled by the Ministry, so he doesnt just have one all the time. And all the timeturners are destroyed in the 5th book if I remember correctly.

@omkar415star You haven't read the books? *gasp* SPOILER yes the resurection stone turns up, Harry's parents come back for a while.But only to support him in what he needs to do. They are not really back,nothing can bring back the dead.And the whole point of the book is that immortality is not something to be seeked, that the true master of death is the person who is not afraid of death but greets it as an old friend,so even if he could bring back the dead he wouldnt.The dead are happy.

I was watching the film the other day and at the start of the film, i only just noticed but Harry keeps on using magic and saying 'Lumos' to see his homework. I couldn't believe J. K. Rowling or one the directors didn't notice it being as the beginning of the 5th book is based around him not being allowed to perform magic outside of school. ~Still love the film though!

I started reading the Harry Potter books when I was in the 5th grade. I was 10 years old. I am now 22 years old and will be graduating college next year. 12 years ago I began to believe in magic. Some of the happeist memories of my childhood consisted of reading a Harry Potter book. It's a lifestyle folks.
