I would also believe it were space junk IF not for the fact that most of the objects were traveling in strange directions. Space junk does not usually leave the Earth's atmosphere and then "fly away". In fact, I didn't see any of the objects fly TOWARDS the atmosphere. Why do you think that is?

Where is your common sense? My God. The space junk IS orbiting the planet just like the Shuttle. However, they are in DIFFERENT orbits. The relative velocity and apparent visual direction between the Shuttle and the space junk can be ANYTHING due to the different orbits.

Claiming the object is not orbiting the planet is utter nonsense. You don't seem to realise that the earth is not visible when a camera is looking along the shuttle velocity vector, and the reason it is here is because the camera is looking down. This means that objects even in a circular orbit will appear to move upwards in the camera's FOV. Furthermore, you cannot possibly claim escape from orbit in the few seconds shown. You sir, seem unable to think in 3 dimensions.
