Making that a joke is very metal. I think both the song and video are artistically very successful, and hilarious!

That's why I look for other hardcore punk and thrash metal bands that are...well...better. Voivod is different from a crap ton of other bands (good thing) and there are other good bands that aren't "Metallica." I'll support your opinion even if yours is totally different because we all have different tastes.

your going to hate me for this but I never considered thrash metal pure "metal" punk has contributed just as much like most thrash bands you can even hear the punk influence like this song. I just call it thrash. Also death metal and black metal now has drifted so far from it's thrash metal roots which wasn't pure metal to begin with and has changed so fuckin much I don't get how death metal and black metal is metal. It's just something that people (usually teens) do to demonstrate their knowledge and somehow convince themselves that by applying these "advanced" labels, they're somehow smarter or more "in the know" than everyone else. If you like a band or song, why not just talk about *what* you like about it, how it inspires you, etc.? Listen to music for yourself, not for social reasons.
