@SpasticDove Pasos are different than other gaited horses. They are not taught the gait, it comes natural to them which is why it is smoother than a "Taught" Gait.
I just can't see the sync between horse and rider here. The rider is just concerned with winning - the horse is worried about if hes going to get out of this thing alive or not!!! Sure he trusts the rider - he trusts that if he does one poor move and is bad - he'll get knifed in the mouth,
Where do you come up with your little scenerios, hickchick? Your posts on gaited horse videos are all the same! How can you possibly say things like this without knowing the people or the horses? Perhaps you should go to the library and read up.
If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you see that makes the rider and horse seem out of sync? they seem great to me, the horse is moving forward nicely and its ears are up.

I'm really not a fan of gaited horses, but even so I can tell the horse seems happy and willing.
It's just a personal preferance. I don't think he will get Knifed in the mouth

Non-gaited horses are good. Gaited horses are better. Pasos are the best. Knifed in the mouth? What is that?

Ask hickchick9
And I think it depends on the individual horse and rider. To each his own.
