Hey Faith, Ramble away... I do the same thing LOL. I wanted to find out (if you don't mind) how you got your funding for surgery. That is my problem as well. My insurance does have coverage but seriously it's almost NOTHING! So if you don't mind dropping me a line either here or if you would rather email me just let me know. Keep posting :) Muhahaha... I'm that evil rofl...

Attending the meetings you referenced may help provide the motivation you will need to learn proper exercise and portion control following your surgery. If you are forthcoming with the group and tell them about your surgery, you will not be eligible for the cash prize, but they will offer more than just money; they will offer support. As you likely know, surgery is not an easy way out - there are risks and challenges ahead. It is not weak to ask for help. I wish you the very best of luck!

Thank you for the well wishes :) Yes, I thought just as you do that I would like to have the support and encouragement along my way... I did send a nice note to the group leader explaining my situation and requesting to still be a part of the group for personal growth purposes... I have yet to receive a response from her. I will keep everyone updated if that changes.
