and its never barked? some dogs dont bark very much, some bark all the time. you can train them to go in either direction but some are naturally more vocal than others. i have never heard of a breed or any kind of dog that cannot bark. and they usually start making noise fairly young, like in their first few weeks....if you want it to bark more encourage it when it does bark, excite it to make it bark then reward it with treats or something

True. Some dogs are more vocal than others. My dog is one that naturally doesn't bark that often.

The Basenji is a dog breed that does not bark, though it does make a howl or yodeling sound. It's very cool if you have not heard before.
