Not all fans let the show 'govern' what they listen to-- that would imply that we only listen to whatever plays on the shows we like. The show simply exposes people to the artists. What's the difference between hearing it on a show and hearing it on the radio?

I can understand frustration in people seeming to just 'jump on the bandwagon,' but in the end, fan elitism over music doesn't help the artists themselves. If Chuck can get a few more people to buy Matt Costa's albums, then great.

Well, I definitely wouldn't have come across him without watching Chuck, but I'm really glad that I did. Already got an album, and the other songs are also amazing. I do agree that it'd be better if people expressed appreciation of the music for more than the fact that it was featured on Chuck.
