  • I love your videos!

  • looks like a great adventure! wish I could try one of those ... one day! :)

  • GREAT VIDEO! I LOVE IT!

  • great idea on using kitchen tongs :)

  • @rawutah Did you know that you can also eat the cactus pads? They are called nopales. They taste like a cross between green beans and okra.

  • Excellent find, a field of prickly pears! My lambsquarter finally went to seed, almost 6 months after they started in the spring.

  • I bought some at the grocery store and they do have an interesting taste and semi-sweet - but they have so much seeds! The seeds are incredibly hard to chew and so annoying- not my favourite but still an interesting fruit.

  • @4GreenEarth2 if you have a juicer, thrown the pears in there next time. it creates a TON of purple juice!!! sooo goood!!

  • I wonder if you could grow those at home since they're so seedy?

  • @nerdmom920 I see them in almost every yard...of the homes around here. They're perfect for home growers!! They make great living fences too!!!

  • @rawutah That's what I was thinking. Prickly pear hedgerow. Probably too wet where I'm at, but it's great watching you guys hunt and forage.

  • Nice - they look rather like passion fruit. Just reading a book about some prisoners escaping from Russian Gulag - they crossed the Gobi dessert living on snake meat for about three weeks. Perhaps they should have looked for these. They did find Berberris plants - we have one and it has very nice small red fruit for making into relish.

  • @ivankinsman Hello my friend!! That story sounds like the movie "The Way Back"....I loved the story...so inspiring!! I wonder if the movie was based on the book you're reading? What is the title of this book? I would love to read it!!! Cheers

  • @rawutah Yes, the film was based on this book. It is called The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz (I got it on Amazon). A really amazing story and an incredibly tough group of men who made the journey. People who I have spoken to say the book is much better than the film!

  • Food that fights back! With my poor sense of balance I wouldn't attempt that. :)

  • @Praxxus55712 hahaha...cheers to that bro!! those wild food sort of want to put up a fight!! Guess it shows their vitality!! The force is strong with the wild ones....
