For all of you who think they're guilty, you need to do a little more research. Tom Cummins DID confess. He also filed a police brutality lawsuit & won $150,000. Antonio was taken into custody & questioned without a guardian as a minor - AGAINST THE LAW. Marlon & Reggie were severely beaten & their "confessions" were coerced. There was ZERO DNA evidence to support that the girls were raped. In fact, one of the bodies was never recovered. Do your homework before you open your mouths.

@ananomolly - I did my homework...again, Cummins' "confession" was nothing more than him saying something to the effect of "You want me to say I did it? Fine, put down w/e you want", and it was neither written nor videotaped...in fact, when the arresting detectives sheepishly informed the DA of this oversight, he disgustedly told them they had no case and to let Cummins go. Also, why did Richardson threaten a witness during the trial, not to mention how Gray's GF tesified that he was abusive?

Thomas Cummins never confessed to the crime. Police did suspect him, as he did fail a polygraph test, but he never confessed. In addition Marlin himself went through was in an audio and video tape of himself reenacting what happened. Sure, I may not believe in Capital punishment, but the evidence is overwhelming in this case.

The people who have been released from death row are people who were convicted before the technology we have now became available, and through extensive DNA testing they were proved innocent. Now that we have this testing, if the evidence is there, it is there. This man helped rape and murder two innocent girls. I don't care if he is black or not, murder is murder. Being black doesn't mean you can get away with murder.

I have also followed this case for years, and i think that it shouldn't matter if you are black or white, murder is murder. Just because he is black doesn't mean he is innocent. And if there was any doubt within the jury that he was innocent, then he would not have received the death penalty.

@sarahnicolep10 You got to be joking. The United States' track record for not only imprisoning innocent people but also for executing innocent people goes up every year. Jury's convict defendants in black on white crime, especially if rape is involved, way more than in white on black crime, whether the evidence proves it beyond reasonable doubt or not. I have been following this case for years and I never felt them to be guilty only because. Tom cummings confessed to the crime and admitted police brutality. Then he changed his story. That's the thing why did reggies confesion land him on death row but Tom cummings original confesion landed him at home. I'm white and I can clearly see the race card was pulled in this case. My heart goes out to both familys.

one of the defendants wrote a long letter apolguising for what they did (not expecting any help with his parole )

Except that if you look into the history of Missouri and the history of the prosecuting attorney who worked the case you would have to admit that there reason to believe that justice was not had in this particular instance, and in many instances. The death penalty is a cover-up, the state uses it to say "See, we are doing something about crime", when in fact the death penalty does not deter crime nor does it create peace or solace for any person or persons involved. The fact-of-the-matter is that this man was originally charged with rape. He was neither tried nor convicted of rape, but the rape is what connected him the murder. He was brought in under the pretense of questioning and he and his parents were told he needed no lawyer and would be home in a matter of hours.

After he was beaten he was charged with rape.

He was then taken to trail for rape and murder, and the rape charges were dropped. Why? Because there is no evidence. Why is there no evidence? B/c it didn't happen

No one has to prove he was beaten. At their arraignments Marlin Gray and Reggie Clemons were both ordered to be taken to the hopsital immediately following because they had obviously been beaten and needed medical attention.

And you will not be front row for anything, first of all because he was just given a stay and pretty soon the case is going to get the attention people have been trying to get it for the past 18 years and the truth will be known.

Even now, they can't seem to tell the truth. The girls were raped and killed. Their lives do not mean any less because they were white. Kudos for forming such coherent and sober comments whilst responding to a visibly moronic youtuber. I don't know much about the case as I'm from Canada, but having watched a representative for the NAACP on Maher this evening I felt inclined to visit their website, and from there found this case. I'll be sure to check out the blog and look further into this before I form an opinion, although I have to say the facts thus far are troubling at best. Anyways, thanks for the info.
