  • are you people not reading his above comments? if you did maybe you would stop going on about chips effecting the parrotts health...such a gorgeous parrott bdw

  • Zout is slecht voor alle VOGELS (DENK MAAR AAN WINTERVOER moet ook ZONDER ZOUT

  • just F.Y.I, salt actually will shut down a birds internal organs even very small amounts over time. Just thought you should know.

  • @puuiki This is actually not true, in fact birds need some amount of salt in their diets to be healthy. While tropical birds such as my little Bhanu obviously lack the capacity to deal with salt as well as something like a seagull would, a small amount is still important to his health.

As in all things, moderation is key. There are foods, such as rhubarb, caffeine, alcohol, etc. which are a direct threat to a parrot's health in any amount. Salt is not one of them.

  • @thegnome54 I stand corrected. thanks for the rhurbarb info, I have a sunconure and did not know that.

  • parroct cant eat chips you mast stop give her chips

  • erm... is it good to eat salty potato chips ? :)

    he is awesome tho ;)

  • Thank you for this video, it made my day.

  • is feeding him pringle good for his/her health??

  • Your bird is a girl. Boys of her kind have big black mustaches. I had two until recently.

  • @Brizumker He grew up to be as mustached as any bird could hope. They aren't sexually dimorphic until about 2 I believe.

  • @thegnome54 Really? That's very interesting. Is there any way to tell their age?

  • Its amazing how many loudmouths are out there telling you what and how to feed your bird. One, by the way that looks pristine to me. These folks must sit at their computer monitoring the entire net looking for some happy little bird....I;d tellem to just fuck off

  • so.. how did u tame ure parrot ?

  • does anyone know why these birds put their heads up against something while bowing and then lift them up? is it a mating thing?

  • And he doesn't even have his ring yet!!! Just a baby!!!!

  • wow, 3:09 thats very intelligent from him!

  • a little piece of unsalted pringles chip is fine...birds are scavangers in the wild and will eat almost anything...the trick is using these cjhips (as shown here) as a treat, not part of an ongoing diet...treats for my African Grey: unsalted sourdough pretzel, a pringles chip, and her favfdoite, the crust (my favroite part) of a hot pizza.

  • I don't care what other people are saying about what your doing, your bird is awesome!

  • very intelligent :)

  • This Guy Does Not Care About His Birds Health !!! Letting A Parrot Eat Any Kind Of Chips Is Bad For There Health To Many Seasoning On Any Kind Of Chips !

  • @shyboyp I commend you for your pinkie's strength of character, but your concern is unwarranted. We only let him hold the chips for a few moments before taking them away. Tiny bits of chips are fine as long as he doesn't get them too often.

  • @shyboyp

The challenge is probably good for him though.

  • @shyboyp My Parrot eats Chips,Pizza,Rice and drinks Coke sometimes So what? shes fit as ever.

  • Brilliantly done video. Thanks for sharing!

  • he is greedy

  • LOL!!! My quaker parrot goes in potato chip bags like that too XD!! (no, they don't have salt on them)

  • This should be a Pringles commercial.

  • That's one smart bird!

  • wowowoowowowwo i cant explain how much i love this bird

  • nice bird you i think you should get a male whith a diffrent colour

  • get a male

  • hahahha I watched this a few years back and remembered him and still love it!

  • Very cute! But don't give him Pringles....

  • nice

my paroot make same actions like urs but it cant talk and bit me

  • Awww yay he got the pringle!! Too cute.

  • aw, i have an indian ringneck too. mines a 15 year old female, and she does some crazy things like that too. they love their food!

  • A good substitute for potatoe chips is to get tortillas and bake them until they loose all their moisture. Then they have the exact same crunch and taste as tortilla chips without the salt. Many corn tortillas are pure corn with no salt added. Plus they are cheap - about $1.30 for 20.

  • what a clever lil bird...ironically its illegal in india to keep them as pets..its for the best i guess.

  • how much are they

  • Lovely innocent bird

  • LOL my parakeet can almost do that all but he cant get awy with it

  • you have a fantastic bird

  • My green cheek conure does the same thing your IRN does for food. We call him Fat Boy & he says it too: "Look at the Fat Boy, Look at the baby Ernie Fat Boy". His name's Ernie.

  • This is one of the cutest videos I've seen! I absolutely LOVE Ringneck's personalities, but I'm really worried about what you're feeding him

Chips are a big no no, potato isn't really great for them in the first place, and even though it's cooked, which makes it okish, it's so high in fat!

Try nuts, like almonds peanuts and walnuts, much better nutritionally, but still usually favourites, cause they still contain some fat, so not an always food either. oops im lecturing, GREAT VID!

  • haha! He likes his chow almost as much as I do. But I can't fit into a Pringle's can.

I like the way Bhanu's eyes flash after grasping the chip. The look of triumph!

You gave me some ideas to challenge my Pineapple GCC, Jasper.

  • WOW thats crazy my IRN would never do that but he does like to walk around the house, he walks all the way down the stairs just to look in the mirror = lol

  • Nice on the Pringles can. My eclectus is a pig as well.

  • This is lovely bird. An Idol for my new not so well behaved albino Indian ringneck :)

  • cute!

  • You do feed him bird food on a regular basis, right?

You have a very smart indian ringneck parakeet and you should be very proud!

  • so sweet and inteligence parrot... I LOVE THEM!

  • your name translates to f**ing a dog that's not very sweet!

  • Come on, I am not pervert!!!

  • i hate it when people get their birds wings clipped, sure sometimes it seems like its necessary but i still dont like it

well done, i didnt clip mines, he loves flying

  • but they grow back like fingernails after 3 months is not painful it is unethical i do agree but its just a short period of time to make it easier with finger training

  • Are these birds good as pets?

I can get two for 100.00.

Let me know a little about them?

I know the two i can get are sweet and not cage aggressive.

    Thanks

  • hahahah

i love your bird! it is so cute!

i have the same type of bird but its a female and it doesnt have the ring around the neck. but your bird is really really smart.does he know how to talk?

not mine but if you want to check my bird out just type in kiwi wants to be petted by larry hillyard

  • Ahah.

    That's funny and cute.

Made my day since my birds are all gone.

  • Wow, smart bird hehe

  • wow thegnome54 your reply was so awesome thankyou

tankyou for taking the time to reply i know my questions were naive but i been checking all over to find a website that would give me thee answers but couldnt find one

im a massive animal fan..just wish i knew more about them . anyway your reply totaly took over my cerebral cortex and made me think alot

peace dude and keep up ur awesome work

  • is it true all animals see in black and white? or is that a made up facts about animals? just wonderd?

and what is an animals level of intelligence ? i know it must vary from animal to animal but people think animals dont have emotions or the ability to think yet i seen my dogs and birds having bad dreams

  • No, that's untrue. Many animals can actually see types of light that humans can't. Pit vipers, for example, are named after the heat-sensing pits on their heads which allow them to see infrared light. Hummingbirds, parrots and other birds are capable of seeing ultraviolet lights.

The question of intelligence isn't as clear-cut. As cliche as it sounds, there really are 'many different types of intelligence'. Assuming you mean critical-thinking type skills, it's still very hard [continued]

  • to judge this in most animals since their reasoning is so different and their methods of expression are hard to map to ours. The type of intelligence humans treasure might not always be evolutionarily favorable when you take into account how much energy and body mass a big brain takes.

And emotions? We don't even know what consciousness is or how to 'detect' it in other animals. I would argue you need to be conscious in order to have emotions, but even that is up for debate. Who knows?

  • @thegnome54

    well said.

  • @thegnome54 hi..i luv ur bird..i hv the same but it has the ring on his neck..i really want to bond with it but i wont let me stroke it or hold it...plz help..wat shall i do...

  • @hassanakhtarofficial - Start by just hanging out with it and talking and letting it get used to you being around. Then start eating infront of him (this gets their attention), start offering him food from your fingers. If he ever looks scared, back off, if he looks interested in what you are doing, act more interested. Don't approach him with open hands, to birds hands look like the claws of predators grabbing at them. Most of all, be patient, it takes alot of time, but it's worth it.

  • @verticalsmurf thnk you soo much!ill do just dat...how long u think???

  • @hassanakhtarofficial - Many months of patience. Earning your birds trust takes a long time and alot of work, but it is worth it. It would be quicker if you could find a tame bird that will happily play with you in front of your bird. If a bird sees another bird trusting a person they are usually quicker to trust that person as well. The most important thing is to not show your hands to your bird unless it is in a fist or flat. A hand with spread fingers look like claws to smaller birds.

  • @verticalsmurf ill post vids of me and my parrot, ill ad u as a frend...is that ok?

  • @hassanakhtarofficial - It's also important to be calm around your bird. I don't know how they know, but birds know what we are feeling and they will react to how their owners are feeling. If you are anxious your bird probably will be too. If you are calm then your bird may (not always) be calm.

Another thing you can do is, if your bird has a favourite food, keep it as a treat. Whenever the bird behaves well, give it a treat. Positive reinforcement.

  • @verticalsmurf aww..thnx soo much,uv been a great help!wat im doing now is talking to it everyday and singing to it and hanging out wiv it...he makes this noise everytime i come to him...its sooo cute...it shows hes happy...if i keep doing this, will he finally trust me?

  • I am pretty sure it's a female. Males have the ring around their neck.

  • Nope, young male. They're not (externally) sexually dimorphic until adulthood.

  • That's one damn smart bird.

  • i don't think does chips are good for him...

  • Don't worry, they're potato chips.

  • did you name him bhanu for any particular reason or do you just like the name?

  • Just liked the name. I believe it means "sun" in some obscure indian dialect.

  • i have a question... people say u should use an air purifier for birds... if so what one would be good with out paying like 800 or more??? Can u use just an air purifier from Lowes or Sears etc or does it have to be special??

  • I've never heard of an air purifier being used for birds. I would probably recommend just not using one, unless you smoke or cook with nonstick pans a lot...

  • ohh ok how would u know if a pan is non stick?

  • You just want to avoid cooking with Teflon coated pans, because particulates can burn off of them and birds have extremely sensitive respiratory systems.

  • how do u know if theyre teflon coated???

I have these red ones called " Tools of the trade. COOK RIGHT " is this teflon coated because we dont have the box for it anymore

  • i searched the name on google and these sliver ones came out and said it had teflon.... but then i added red because mine are red but nothing ( even in pictures ) came out... im confused

  • Frome the macy's site, about the "Tools of the Trade Cookright 10-Piece Silicone Set":

"A quality cookware set for the health-minded individual. The interior is coated with DuPont(tm) Teflon® Classic, a two-layer advanced nonstick coating that provides easy cleanup and long-lasting durability."

It's black, though. Not sure if it's yours. Check the rest of the site.

  • Thanks so much... I dont see anything else but just to stay on the safe side im gonna get new ones...

Thanks for answering all my questions.. ur awesome! :]

  • No problem, good luck with your bird! Feel free to message me with any other questions you have.

  • Very cute. The IRN's really are smarter than people know, especially other bird owners. I have 2, pleace come check Louie's videos out!

  • how do u keep his feathers so smooth??

  • IRNs have naturally smooth feathers. His diet also provides him with all of the good stuff he needs, so he's extra radiant.

  • thank you parrot guy! :)

why dont you post another video of him ;)

  • That´s a seven inch bird.

  • fucking awsome fucking awsome

  • wow .. n!ce bird

  • un screwing the pen cap awesome, p.s, makes a great tool, jk but stil..

  • i have the same problem with my 2 ringnecks they eat every single thing that happens in their way lol even meat and spaghetti... no fancyblood1 i bought my last one for 75 Euros from a breeder friend of mine they'r quite cheap but can be adorable pets.

  • get a grip the birds in the end die. they eat chips or not it still happens i say feed away

  • Psh. You can feed your bird pretty much anything that doesn't have alcohol, caffine, avocodos, or chocolate. Just feed it to him in small moderations. Don't feed it to him as much.

  • actully u shudnt feed it to him at all

  • it's true, IRNs can have anything except avocado, cheese, ice cream, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol/drugs. other dairy is fine like milk but preferably skim.. i believe it's the saturated fats in foods that are bad for them, there digestive system cannot break down sat fats, this is why they also cannot have avocado... my girl eats heaps of foods with her favourite being weetbix, honey and milk in the morning!!

  • No dairy either.

  • Great enrichment you are giving your parrot, i bet it likes working for its food. =]

  • open the window xD:D

  • This is an adorable and well made video..I loved it ....HOWEVER..I have to agree with the previous poster, Please, Please stop feeding your little beauty these poisons. A bird's delicate system ca not handle salts, sugars and fats (especially not hydrogenated fats) and you are slowly killing him. Non salted crackers or nuts would be a much better choice, dark green leafty veggies even better. And BTW, it's not so great for you either...but then, that's another story :-)

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa nice :D

  • I ALSO BEG YOU TO PLEASE STOP FEEDING YOUR BIRD SALTED CHIPS. THEY ARE EXTREMELY TOXIC TO BIRDS. Your sweet bird will begin to have serious health problems if you keep it up. You can replace the chips with another food that he loves as much, that is not toxic. I'm sure you love him, so I hope you are paying attention. And those of you who are viewing, and have a parrot, please take heed too.

  • agreed,

  • hi can i ask you this we have a irp but she seems to scream alot if this makes sence we also have a amazon which are very vocall why do you think my lucy does this thanx sarah

  • are indian ringnecks quite expensive? because i want one and i cant afford a African grey .

    plz some tell me

  • that pringles trick wass siiiikkk

  • lol my Indian Ring Neck does the same thing, whenever he spots food he will just fly on to my shoulder expecting food.

  • where can you buy a indian ring neck and how much are they plz tell me.

  • 0:48 hes looking outside and saying.. i wanan be out there

  • CAN SOMEBODEY HELP ME. i'm doing so hard my best but my ringneck don't whant to be taim sometimes i can rub her head but she will bite me anyway.

And otherwise only i can come to her. i just whant her out of her cage whit me in my seat.

can sombodey help me PLEAS!! i love her so much but my hand is bitten like hell.

  • PLZ stop feeding your ringneck chips. He is absolutely adorable and I can see you love him very much. But the high sodium in chips is just deadly for birds. You are shortenning his lifespan specifically letting him eat like that. Seeds, nutts, fruits, veggies, a VERY LITTLE bit of cheese occasionnaly, protein (tuna or meat) are all okay but oh got plz stop giving him that much sodium!

  • My IRN is the same way... I can't eat ANYTHING around her without being barraged.

  • This video is really cute. You have an adorable bird!

  • Very lovely.....cute....these birds are naughty too nd they likes to play like kids..too.

  • AWESOME bird!!! 5/5!

  • Awsome

  • Lmao look at the eyes at 2:55

  • It looks like a female

  • Your bird is adorable! :-)

A word of caution though, in case you didn't know, chips are extremely dangerous snacks for a bird, because of the salt. I can see that you love your bird very much, (as I do my own), and would like him to be a part of your family for as long as possible.

  • wow, smart bird!!! :D

  • this is so cute that it brings teares to my eyes

  • aww. He kind of a pig...

  • beautifuly done!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is verry cute i wish my indian ringneck would do that cobber just sits on its porch

all day playing with toys and eating seeds!

  • you know i have meet your bird

  • i know sis

  • i have also meet your bird because im your older sister

  • cool...i just signed up and posted my indian ringneck. he seems to love chips and juice. LOL nice clip...

  • lol, nice

  • lol how cute clever ringneck parrot luv it :D

  • Mine Indian Ringneck Parrot's name is Tuti and he is afraid of absolutely EVERYONEXD...including me and everyone else. He was 4 years old when we bought him and he's been with us since I was 8 and now I'm 16 and he's still acting like this. Can you imagine? For 8 years! It's so difficulty, he lets no one touch him, he just flees for his life.. ._. it's scary.

  • Wow, bravoooo! :)

  • howd u train ur parrot to go on ur hand mine is terrified of me!!!

  • It all depends on how they are raised, hand feed birds will be much tamer, but if they weren't hand tamed they could be scared and much harder to tame

  • Loved it. We had a ringneck that looked exactly like bhanu, he would sit on hubbys lap and carry on long intelligible conversations. Alas, he had beak and feather disease, bad breeder, and he left way too soon.

    I just love your birdie!

  • Cute birde ..*^_^*..

  • LOL "crazy little fatty" ...cute bird :D

  • ...He didn't get lots of that stuff anyway - once a week we'd do our homework at the table downstairs and the Pietje would help. He chewed my math homework, punched holes in my english essays and got nacho cheese bird feet prints on my papers. I do miss him! Now, I have two happy healty birds - a ringneck and a meyers. They eat their veggies, banana, apple, pieces of whatever we're having and their own pellet and seed mix. They're 15 and 13. They're the joys of our lives!

  • my cockatiel used to go in the bag for a chip - he'd get a new one everytime I got a new one even though he didn't need it. He also drank my soda... (I know now he shouldnt have had any of that stuff)...and screemed until I would let him have a bite of whatever else I was eating.

  • is your cockatiel ok cuz there are things that shouldn't be given to a parrot like soda, chocolate, avacado, too much human food. im just concerned is it ok.

  • He lived 20 happy (maybe not so healthy) years with us. He had his full adult feathers and some nasty biting habits when we got him. My guess is he was already a year or two old then. We got him when I was 11. I read the book that came with him and knew he couldn't have chocolate or sit in a draft, however, I did not know chips and soda were bad for him. anyway, when I was old enough to drive, I researched more about cockatiels and stopped giving him chips and soda... TBC

  • love the bird, who did the music sounds like jeff lynne

  • Wow, I have fallen in love with this cute fella! Will do anything for chips :P

  • I think the name of this Video should be...

"What and Indian Ringneck Parakeet Will Do For a Chip"

    =)

  • is that a female or is it a young male?

  • I think its a young male.

  • yeah , my parrot eats more when hes full.

  • Yes too many chippies is no good.. you can also wash the chippie under water before they nibble it.. (which is how my youngest prefers his food.. soggy!) and mine only get less than a fingernail portion on occasion!

  • Adorable! IRNs never cease to amaze me!

Yes I cannot even rustle a chippie packet in this house, chippies = velcro bird! My eldest has a trick, he sits on my hand and waits for me to open the packet, sometimes even opening it himself if hes waiting too long, then with a flash, he dives into the packet, grabs the biggest chippie and flys away before I can even stop him. Kinda reminds me of seagulls.

  • that's cute!!! I love the string thing. I bet your parrot doesn't get bored which is great! :)

  • Great video! My IRN, Oliver, is a big eater too. In fact, I can't eat dinner if he's out of his cage -- he steals it from me. I have a couple of clips of him on my channel, but they are nowhere near this cute! Bhanu is an exceptional bird. :)

  • is it safe to let ring necks eat pringles

and how many is a saafe amount

  • It's not a good idea. I don't let him eat more than what's left in his beak when I pull away the chip, and I pull it away as soon as he gets it. Salty foods are bad for birds in excess.

  • I would go for the original Pringles, too, and not the flavored variety. Those seasoned powders that they use can't be good for anything.

  • I have a 12 year old IRN (yellow, male) and a brand new almost 1 year old IRN (unknown, blue). Both are mean as heck. but there are the times they are so darn cute. I wouldn't trade my bloodied fingers and bite marks for the world..

  • Smart bird lol =D

  • my parrot is like that lol

  • I think my Linnie Molly is in love with your IRN... she likes Ringo's song too and sings along...

  • awesome song choice! i named my ring neck Ringo, after the Beatle! :-)

  • awesome song choice! i named my ring neck Ringo, after the Beatle! :-)

  • Isn't this a female with the lack of ring around it's neck? Just wondering :)

  • I think he's a male, but we won't know for sure for another few months. They aren't sexually dimorphic until adulthood.

  • Didn't you see him doing the male dance?

  • nope its not male...its a she...the males have a red, light yellow touch and a black ring around their necks.

  • Ditto about the salty snacks! My Ringneck was sitting on my dad's shoulder while I was giving him his dinner.I went back out to the kitchen and Dad said"Look at this little S.O.B.!!" Greedy had walked down Dad's arm,and dragged an entire pork chop off the plate and was trying to fly away with it! Dad was laughing and so was I. They are wonderful birds.

  • verry cute! but plz dont feed him so much salty chips! its not good for his liver :( kuz my grandmas parrot was fed pancakes chips crackers......and ya but now she has a verry serious condition of liver dessise called fatty liver. kuz of salty stuff and ya. so plz go easy on the chips!! ;) thx

  • hilarious! and very cute.

  • Well, they range from $20 - $150 in AUS I got my blue 1 fro about $60, and atwo green 1's for about $20 each and a yellow 1 for about $40 and a white one for about $110 but, you just have to love them they have so much character

  • thanks i live in spain anyway

  • omg its like monkey!=Di loved it<3<3

  • I love it. He is like a Hero!

  • Maybe he should have healthier, bird friendly snacks?

  • We're pretty careful - I only let him chew on the pringles for a few moments for the camera. They have much too much salt and other 'bad' stuff on them for him to actually eat a full chip. Usually he eats the stuff we eat at dinner - fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as some meat every now and then. They're rugged little birds, health-wise. Thanks for your concern, though.

  • sweet bird, my Plumhead can unscrew pen cap too :)

  • how much mone
