  • 13 people are Canon fans!

  • watch my video of portraits from khmer shot on canon 7d and 50 d and nikon d300 s

    lightroom , and canon 17- 40 , 50mm 1.4, 100 macro , 70 - 300 canon ..

  • GET:.THE:.NINTENDO',3DS``FREE:_

  • What lenses did u use for filming

  • @Leongrimaldi

Mainly the 600mm/4.0G VR, but also the 400mm/2.8G VR.

  • beautiful soundtrack!

  • It is a superb camera. I just wonder what the D4 will be like!!! Not that i will rush out to get one. The D3s has EVERYTHING i need:O)

  • Hey, I liked your video, I also subscribed to your channel for more. If you get the chance check mine out and subscribe too. Thanks!

  • Jest dobre ,ale za nudne jak dla Mnie osobiście !Pozdrawiam

  • Simply beautiful. As soon as I graduate from college, I'm getting this.

  • i love this video !

  • Is there any place where you can pay for a nikon camera monthly?

  • Fantastic work,like!

  • Bears are filmed in Finland but the rest of the video in Norway, I am right?

  • @monopodi78

You are right. I corrected the video description, which is not as detailed as the one of the HD version though (link at the beginning of the video). The sea bird scenes were photographed at Lafoten, I think. All muskoxen outside of North America were reintroduced, as you might know. The population at Dovrefjell originated from East-Greenland and was imported in 1932. They often face the problem of summers being "too warm" and are closely monitored -- even flown out if necessary.

  • @NikonD6

I forgot to say that great footage and impressive quality from the camera. I wish I had the money for it...

  • @monopodi78 Love it! Wow Finland and Norway are amazingly beautiful. I think I've always imagined those nations as being this way. My motivation for searching are my love of Nikkon and love of Amethystium (Norwegian ambience band).

  • this is amazing!

  • 2 weeks into 4 minutes

  • superb

  • Liquid Turbo is right. It's the photographer who takes the photograph, videographer who shoots the video. Not the camera.

    You get that first!

Then you can make good movies!

(I am for Nikon, but you can make this with 5DMII with no problem)

    See LaForet!!

  • 10 bucks for the one that tells me the name of this song.

  • 3:33 omg

  • I still cant believe this!!!!

  • Pure beauty!

  • @Mat7Sohai I think is Weather Storm and After the Storm by Craig Armstrong. I love my D3s

  • Awesome video. Reminds me of Planet Earth!!!

  • Wow! Sooo amazing! I could just watch it over and over :)

  • Well done! Do you carry gun or peper spray with you on those location? It seem like danger can be there in any second.

  • This should be at Nikon's website. Wow. Incredibly well done!

  • this is really absolutely awesome fantastic inspiring video!!!!!!!!!good good good job!you are excellent&superb!

  • tell me its the actual footage of the nikon d3s =[]= i'll get it today

  • @tanakung

It is the actual footage. Of course, the scenes were cut, but that's pretty much the only editing done. Note that several scenes were shot using the high ISOs - the one with the bears at ISO 12800 for example.

  • Incredible! Fantastic!

  • I believe Vincent is one the best wildlife photographers of all times. Unsurpassable! His Kamchatka brown bear photography is not only amazing, but beautiful.

  • Wow....superb especially 3:23. I want a telephoto lens.

  • It's the mostly the photographer that is able to make such a stunning vid, not the D3s.

  • Great video ... Well done

  • Great stuffff

  • WOW

  • 1:41 chowing on remains of former assistant that took out Canon Shureshot for a quick snap.

  • @RustyRazor2010

Suresot. No, Smearshot. Ah, Sureshot. There!

  • Impossible with Canons

  • @NLS87 Not true at all.

  • Amazing. Absolutely Amazing, Vincent.

  • Vincent Munier, it is timeless poetry that you create. I count your photography among my most precious treasures.

  • Amazing work...

  • amazing!

  • we live in a beautiful world with lots of beautiful creatures. this video is so inspiring.

  • 10,000 dollar lense!!

  • Looks like Norway?... great video...

  • Looks more like Norway if you ask me. We have both musk ox and puffins. A fantastic camera!

  • @16NIBOR - Guess you haven't watched the video to the end and/or read anything on the net about this assignment...

    @pedalman - I'll assume you haven' t tested the D3s ?

Personally I respect Nikon for not buying into this whole "spec. war" and instead

taking a step back and develop products that people would use.

  • @NoUniqueAccount ......Ok yes , good point made.

  • are you sure this is finland? because here in sweden we don't have bisons or cute little birds :P

  • Lovely video , I was thinking about a D3s (I have a D3) but I decided not to spend £4000 + on a camera that didnt have FULL HD video ......seems silly that the much cheaper Canon D5 Mk11 has full HD but I have bought into the Nikon camp now so Im waiting until they come up with a D4 ???? . The D3s with 25mps and full HD would be very temping... hope nikon do that and call it the D4.

  • Is it better to buy a D3s in your local camera shop? Or cheaper to buy online? Im in Canada and in need of a D3s and now that the Canadian $ is higher then American, I would like to know what's my best bet! Thanks

  • i love the video!

    I love the d3s

    I LOVE NIKON

  • This Good !!!! Hilmar

  • the blacks are so rich and the contrast is MIND BLOWING. this camera is a beast!

  • Tout simplement sublime ! son et images en totale harmonie... Beauté et poésie... Bravo Vincent !

  • very nice, look professional except for the skewing effects from the rolling shutter during fast movements like the pan at 2:12

  • simply wonderful! congrats!

what resolution did u use to render it ? and what kind of file extension ( avi. mov. etc...did u use for utube upload ?? ) thanks!

  • enjoyed every frame ... awesome.

  • When you take a still from the video what size jpeg image is it ??

  • 1280 x 720 I imagine.

  • Stunning Assignment... Really Amazing Work..

After see it... Decide to get a Nikon D3s.

    Thanks for your Sharing...

  • Simply amazing.. what did you use to capture the audio?

  • This is incredible! I mean, it's something that just makes you go "Woooow!". Great stuff!

  • Fantastic work!!!! Video and stills all obviously top drawer... just waiting on my new D3S body.. so viewing as much as I can to tide me over :)

Wishing you well and continued success in your pro career!

    Frederick Dunn

  • I hate my 5DMk2 when see this movie :(

  • Maybe u can't use it ?

  • the D3s is doing the same thing as the 5Dmk2 whats teh difference in taking video?

  • @germandude1982 uh.... for people that want to shoot video. stupid question.

  • yeah? 5d mk2 shoots video and the D3s does...why would he hate his 5d2? video is the same on both

  • @germandude1982 maybe because he can't do it very well. I don't know. He's not my problem. He is his own. :)

  • @germandude1982

Video is Far from the same on these two cameras. One is Motion jpeg and the other is encoded H264. if you investigate these two methods of image presentation and capture you will see just a tiny (joke) diference in the content of each file and frame and discover why one stands up just a tiny bit better than the other., Sadly. Everything looks wonderful compressed for Youtube!!

  • @kevinsastro You should hate yourself because it's certainly not a camera problem.

  • @kevinsastro

why? it's an incredible camera too. And with the right lenses I'm sure you could shoot something close to this too?

  • @kevinsastro good joke

  • @ijastv maybe you just can't use it properly...

  • @kevinsastro

why the canon is good too, in 1080 HD this is only 720HD but moire lowlight quality

  • @kevinsastro

lol why do u hate ur 5D mark2? u can shoot the exact same thing as this person did. just gotta know how to make interesting edits.

the 5D is amazing. so many producers use it to film stuff. like the season finale of house was entirely filmed using the 5D. iv watched alot of canon and nikon HD movie mode videos. and im more impressed with canons. but for pictures both are par but if one went a head it would be Nikon. so keep ur 5D :)

  • @capdasejb You couldn't shoot the same thing with the cannon , this movie was shot with ridiculously high ISO witch is the selling point of this camera.

  • @Shaitan00

aha ill agree with the high iso's Nikons preform amazing at high ISO's becuase they keep their Megapixles down on their sensor.

but im talking Video here. high ISO or not Canons Video is supreme. any film producer / camera shop associate will tell you that. but nikon has the edge for photos

  • UnBelievable... Absolutely incredible.... you are Talented, and Lucky, The D3S is Absolutely beautifull. What lense ws that shot on??

  • AF-S 600mm VR

  • @NikonD6 Soooo, my 200-400 + a teleconverter sure will not be good enough : /

Damn, I want Nikon to ship more copies of the aspherical 2x III.

  • Stupid review go brush you're stinking yellow teeth

  • does anyone know what kind of bird is that in the video (3:00) ?

I find it very beautiful with it's sad-looking eyes, orange beak and yellow spot and would like to seek for some pictures of it..

  • Those are Puffins. There is a nice article on that species at Wikipedia.

  • Did someone know the name of the song please?

  • I'm so excited! Tomorrow or the day after I will pick up my D3s, plus the 24-70 f/2.8 and the 200-400 f/4!

  • lucky!!!!

  • Update!!!

  • S P E T T A C O L A R E!!!!!!!!!!thanks

  • Thank you for this video, i almost got the canon 5D ......im a Nikonian

  • holy crap its so clear when the bars running away you can see the little specks of water. thins is my dream camera or nikon d90

  • @runescaper0ck5 D90 video is nothing like this. It's nice but not nearly as stunning as what the D3S can do.

  • yeah i know the way i said it made it sound like the d90 was equal sorry. and i agree with you 100%. this is my other youtube account for my photography stuff.

  • How the fuck are you going to compare a D90 to this monster?

  • To buy it it is necessary to work 5 years !(((

  • Wow.. that look like a Hi-End Cinema Camera Shot!

  • An absolutely stunning video. The D3s looks a fantastic piece of kit, but this guy would have probably got good results with a box brownie! Vincent you've got a great eye for the subject.

  • Awesome. Merci Vincent pour cette fabouleuse vidéo!

    What lenses did you use?

  • Most parts of the video were shot with a 600mm VR.

  • Wonderful work, truly stunning.

I think this is the best example of what the D3s can do that I've seen to date. Thank you for posting.

  • @zipadeedoodle i agree. th best yet of what it can do.

  • very nice... question: does the d3s have rolling shutter issues? it seems the video didn't answer that question. by the way, LOVE THE PUFFINS!

  • The CMOS sensor still causes rolling shutter, but the effect has been reduced compared to previous Nikon digital SLRs.

There is a rolling shutter test over at flickr:

    /photos/curtner/4120806949/

  • @daxdigital Check 2:12. Panning after the bear. Lots of rolling shutter.

  • so wonderful...compliments!

  • so nice

  • dammmmmmmmmmmnnnnn! this is forcing me to reconsider d700 vs d3!!!

  • I'd go d3s if I was u.

  • I don't think I've EVER seen seagulls look so good before. (Living by the ocean paints a pretty bad picture of them)

  • very good quality! love nikon!

  • this is...wow. amazing.

  • I Still like the Canon..i think im inlove with the T1i

  • WOW people....

It's like nobody has been following Nikon... The reason that Nikon still has the best low light camera in the world is because they choose not to go the "insane-megapixel-overkill" route and instead made the pixels bigger with a 12mp sensor. For crying out loud this camera is 12mp and that is what it is. If you want an insanely high resolution Nikon buy the D3X.

  • Incredible work. Vincent is a marvel. I am so inspired by him!

  • its amazing how real this looks..they must of did the whole thing CGI..

  • Master Vincent as usual

  • nahh I think 12 mp is more than enough. The more mp is you need, the larger CF card you need and the more space you need on your hard drive. Unless you absolutly need to make super large prints than I think you need more mp but for photojournalists 12mp is more than enough.

  • It could have been the best if only they put a little MP juice in there it's fullframe I think it can handle a little mp.

  • Magnifique !

  • Superbe comme d'hab Vincent!

    Merci

  • потрясающе!

  • Wow, incredible footage.

    Do want.

  • Very nice.

  • Comment removed

  • nice shootin :P

  • I love it

  • what is the name of the bird that is black and white with an oragne beek?

    on 2:58 of the video

  • Those are Puffins. Just wiki for it.

  • what lense did you use?

  • Most of the Muskoxen, bear and bird shots were done with a 600mm VR lens.

  • whoa, that must of cost so much

  • Trust me, when you are on a Nikon assignment you don't have to worry too much about your gear.

How else do you think Vincent got a per-production D3s?
