You'd think the association between ignorance and bad manners wouldn't need further proof... Its a team win. Full stop. End of story. The only places where one and only one person gets the job done are Hollywood movies, political speeches and the inner narratives of psychotics, but I'm repeating myself. The captain is *responsible", but as he was first to say, the happy ending depended on everyone, including the pax and people in boats. Failure is never just one thing, nor is success.
ahhhh, the 23 year-old know-it-all canadian... This is why I have +2 and you have -3 as of right now. You don't know what you are talking about, but get on the bus son!! It is time to go to school!
The first officer was flying the plane when they hit the birds. Do you realize how fast birds come at you in these planes? You have almost 0 time to react, plus the birds scatter when you approach them, making it even harder to avoid.... more coming...
Second, once they lost both engines, they lost both generators, which means they have a ram-air turbine (basically a fan) that pops out to give them EMERGENCY power only, WHICH MEANS they CAPTAIN is the one with control of the plane and the ONLY one with flight instruments IN FRONT of him.
So SOP is HE flies the plane while the FO tries to restart the engines & run checklists.
So to say he "didn't do anything" and that he is a "douchebag" clearly shows YOU KNOW NOTHING OF WHAT YOU SAY!

It's always like that. Quarterbacks, lead singers and so on. Everyone focuses on the leader. The rest of the team gets ignored!!!
