  • 1:18 how old is this? The jacket is completly hanging out, this should not be.

  • 2:12 = best

  • cool vid, but i turned the musik off

  • My Uchi mata got better just watching this, the power....touch the screen...

  • que chevre este video esta es mi tecnica y al ver los videos aprendo mas , ?=)

  • Gosh .... Inoue must be using cheat codes to make it look that nice.

  • Uchi mata is the best technique in Judo :)

  • 0:00 - 0:20 badly addictive!

  • Very cool! CHECK OUT MY UCHI MATA VIDEO! It's from the US Open!

Great job on the video RyujiDanma89!!

  • @Chiragana Very nice throw dude! Best I've seen in a LONG while!!

  • mis uchi matas deberian estar ahí

  • Uchimata, also known as "Kintama tsubushi" in Japanese.

It can be translated in English as "Ball smasher"

Women's version can't be called the same from obvious reason. ^_^

  • the 3rd one i harai goshi not uchi mata but very beatiful ;D

  • wtf is up with this song on a Judo video. no taste whats so over!

  • This technique epitomizes Judo

  • Gill's best highlight is getting ipponed by Inoue

  • There can be only one, LOL

  • I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 1:14 more of a kubi nage/koshi guruma instead of an uchi mata?

  • @noose357 I think you are right.

  • @noose357 It really is an uchi mata, the guy prefers having the arm around the head and if you look carefully, you can see his leg is swooping him

  • @TheKoenzo Actually looking at it now, I'm pretty certain it's not an uchi mata, just because if you pause it late at 1:14, white gi is already high in the air getting thrown, and blue gi's foot is still on the ground and doesn't lift up until white gi's momentum carries blue gi over as well. If it were an Uchi, blue gi's foot and leg would've been (or should've been) parallel to the ground in contact with white gi's inner thigh.

  • @noose357 shupt up.. that was nice and worth it

  • 3:04 the best

  • 0:39 big guys can!! :D

  • might be a silly question but i only just started judo (got my orange belt yesterday) im 15, 1.85 tall and weigh 120 kg but everytime i try a uchi mata i always hit the balls is it just a matter of practise or is there a way to avoid that

  • Ippon!

  • gay

  • Awesome awesome...........I love JUDO

  • what is the name of her in blue in 3.11-3.17.

  • what is the name of her in blue in 3.11-3.17

  • חג שמח לכם

  • this song makes this video 2x as badass

  • Most judo matches end with an uchi mata

  • omg Inoue is the best!

  • superb uchimatas.....

  • I don't get the point of throwing someone and them landing on your side, back or mount. Its fucking stupid. And to add to it, they just banned single and double leg take downs.

  • @Lejendary2 As I understand it, the IJF was worried about Judo just being freestyle wrestling (already and Olympic sport) with a uniform. Although I agree about the standards for Ippon, they definitely need to be tightened up.

  • @callum828 agreed, they just need to make rules that give incentive to improving the fighting skill as well as technique, not just technique

  • @Lejendary2 Like BJJ rewarding dominant positions like the mount even if they don't lead to a submission.

  • @callum828 You'll be glad if you can mount an attacker and wait till helps arrives...

  • @bla7091 I was implying that you punch them in the face a lot after the mount actually.

  • @callum828 One of the beautiful things of judo is that you can train and compete at full power with very little risk of getting injured. Few other martial arts can claim the same thing, that's why judo is still popular. Of course there's plenty of choice (jiu-jitsu, mma, kickboxing, muay thai etc) if you want to get familiar with kicking and punching too. Judo is a great substitute to any of those sports though because it covers areas that those sports lack

  • @bla7091 Judo has strikes, see Kodokan Goshin Jutsu.

  • @BloodofPatriots The fact you have to mention it says enough, the average judoka doesn't encounter it until they reach more advanced levels

It's not an important part of judo, hence we're not good at it either

  • @bla7091 It's not an important part of sport judo, but in traditional kodokan judo you can't make it past shodan without mastering the strike katas (atemiwaza). This judoka happens to be very good at strikes, thank you very much, but it's something I've worked at just as hard as I did newaza or nagewaza.

  • @BloodofPatriots Just compare your first judo lessons to what your first muay thai training would've been like, easy to see the difference. Surely there are katas involving strikes, but uke does them and we bring them down with a throw. We're not developing boxing reflexes there since we know where the strike is gonna land

  • @bla7091 Oh, of course judo strikes were never intended as ippon (knockout) punches or kicks. Kano developed them to stun or distract an opponent to gain the clinch, unbalance and then execute the throw and/or transition to newaza. The point is that in open randori against other styles, including muay thai, my opponents have been surprised when this judoka throws a left palm strike to their chins before sliding in for right-side kataguruma.

  • @callum828 I understand, but the throw is useless if you end of being ground and pounded. While in BJJ you reward position because you can attack from there even if you can't pull the submission.

  • @Lejendary2

Assuming the person thrown can carry on, ground fighting isn't unique to BJJ.

In fact, judo has an advantage over BJJ in that it teaches transitioning from standing to ground work.

  • @p3rs0nan0ngrata actually, looking at it logically the one thing you don't want to do vs a bjj guy is take him down.

  • @Lejendary2 That depends. A properly executed judo throw like Uchimata onto a hard surface, such as a sidewalk or street, would cause enough blunt trauma that a BJJ wouldn't be conscious or in any condition to fight once he was slammed head or shoulder first into the ground.

  • @BloodofPatriots a) bjj base is much lower than judoka b) pull guard! :D

  • fucking worst music to choose to put to this clip. thought my ears were bleeding at one point.

  • 3:02 blew my mind away!

  • The last one was really cool

    talk about great timing

  • 2:15 - this is JUDO! ;)

  • um golpe muito bom!!!!

e ainda com uma musica dessas no fundo o video ficou melhor!!!

  • had to mute this as i didn't want to hear that gay queen music

  • @prickett233 I much prefer you mute yourself while I keep listening to Queen. Thanks for reading!

  • @prickett233 hes not gay, did u like it apart from that Mr Queen

  • @gorrilazdamon

yes he was gay, where do you think he got AIDS from.... it was gay butt secks of course!

  • uchimata in japanese means "inside the pussy".

    uchi = inside

mata or omata = polite form of pussy

  • @prickett233 lol

  • 0:25 that dude flew

  • Good Uchi Mata !!

  • uchimata is such a great and effective technic, ine of my favs

  • 1:14...woah ima use that one

  • this is my favorite throw i also like the sacrifice throws my sensai gets scared when i use them cause he flys right over

  • 3:09!

  • @speedguitar88 and them?

  • this move is the coolest so far that I have seen in judo

  • @speedguitar88 And the security landed behind you, putting you in a rear naked choke.

  • @Jahofnietdan lol u only c that in judo competition because the thrower cares less about how they land more about how the other guy is thrown

if they always landed on the guy he/ she would hurt em

  • @Jahofnietdan but it is misleading that this technique has no control

  • @speedguitar88 nice :D wait, were you trying to break into somewhere :O

  • To be rather honest, the Uchi Mata is a good technique but there are so many openings and can leave you off balance. You see the majority of these were done pretty much improperly. Give me the Ude Gatame or the shoulder throw anyday.

  • @DrAchO2 Well, these uchi matas seemed to work just fine, considering the people performing them are judokas on an international level. I'd say that's endorsement enough that they're doing what works for them. One of the cardinal rules in grappling, or martial arts in general, is doing what works best for you. =D

  • Haahahhaa on a security guard haha did it work?

  • kosei inoue is the best of all time

  • I found this one very hard to learn, but if you once handle it, its great to use in fights. I love it, my absolute favourite technique.

  • Great art, and great music!

  • Kosei Inoue The greatest

  • An Uchimata looks fun to take until u get some 200lbs guy landing on your gut. Also does anyone else want to watch the Highlander tv series now?

  • @biohazard724 what's so bad in that , I'm 215 lbs an made a uchimata to a 270 lbs that landed on my gut/head , didn't felt anything that could hurt me

  • @kflahdjhskljahfaksfg well u got a little bit of cushioning, im a boney 115 lbs anyone heavier would crush me when they landed.

  • @biohazard724 Judo's the best , so keep on practiceing it :D Don't worry about breaking something in you ! I had my hand broken at the russian G.P. some time ago but still comed up with the silver medal !

  • @kflahdjhskljahfaksfg Congrats. Im just starting out really. Im hard headed so i usually hurt myself trying stuff thats more advanced then where I am. Like breaking a toe trying a Tomoe. lol.

  • @biohazard724 maybe one day we will meet :P but I'm aiming for MMA now :D so .. started mma with unifight comed 2nd in the world in Cehia

  • @ 1:17 lol he had the fist pump timed w/ the music

  • @naitoshi86

    cita 'mmuerte

  • It's Queen. Your opinion is wrong.

  • that japanese chick is great! what's her name?

  • very nice counterattack at 2:13 - 2:18

  • @xxSZARLxx

one of my favourite throws ever! she must have really strong legs :)

  • @xxSZARLxx

    Yeah it was !

  • @DandDskeeto Get your hip in deep and swing the leg up and to the right aiming for the inner thigh. This way you will miss the balls. Strong knees are required so do 250 squats per day in sets of 50 with 150 with the heel on the ground. Pull him up and into you flank and do not bend your back. Do this throw right and left side.

  • @JoachimderZweite Thanks I should do that anyway, but my serious competition days ended nearly 20 years ago and after spine surgeries . I am just now able to do any kind of defensive training ( but most of the throwsstill work ) Since March 08 I can just barely walk with a cane, but I am learning good tactics with my cane.

You can take the boy out of ,but the dojo but you can't take the dojo out of the boy.

  • @xxSZARLxx 3.04 is better

  • @xxSZARLxx again at 3:04

  • no 0:24 eh o koga ??

    its 0:24 is the koga??

  • koga era japones, el kimono pone china

  • Masahiro Takamatsu wow! best uchi mata i have ever seen ....

  • Such a great technique. I wish I was better at it =p don't use my arms enough. Well...I keep practising.

  • I had a look at an instruction which is definitely worth checking out:

One-step entry uchi mata by Kosei Inoue

  • the most beautiful judo technique :)

  • lol @ obese japanese guy using uchimata.

  • uchimata rules :)

  • A Japanese guy ?

    He is Muneta,I guess.

  • who is the big guy in the 4th match

  • anyone know what that first match was?

  • Nicholas Gill (canada) vs Kosei Inoue (japan)

I was lucky enough to train with Kosei the other week. He was teaching us his uchi mata and it was absolutely awesome.

  • Wow...where did you train with Inoue? Im a big fan of him.

  • @turismogamer me too!

  • Kosei inoue olympics 2004 I think :)

  • Beautiful throw

  • look for yoshida at the 92 olympics I think uchimata is his favorite move and applied it several times including an ippon to win gold in the final

  • hm i feel that uchi mata is dangerous to use, if you fail you're going to give your opponent your back. i'm not a judoka, but a bjjer so my opinion here isn't worth much. anyone has anything to say on this?

  • you never give them your back, if you watch closely they're being pulled to their side as soon as they step to throw and are in control of their upper body the entire time

  • If you make uchi mata good your opponent will try to escape or fall anyway but not on a ippon, but you should know what are you doing while attacking on uchi mata. Look at Kosei Inoue. You will understand the technique, cant wait for his video on November. Inoue ftw!!

  • Anyway, First uchi mata is the greatest ;P

  • Anything half-assed is dangerous to apply.

Judo is about balance, and to attack you have to break your balance and as such, you put yourself at risk, that's why you have to break the opponent balance before attacking.

If you fail at Uchimata because the opponent defended well and not because you didnt break your opponent balance, then you will fall into a neutral position at most.

  • well that is the case with all throws but if you are quick it works very well, I'm a JJJ practioner so I know what you mean, but as I said if your quick all throws work well

  • yes u cud give ur back. a counter to uchimata would having their back, squatting and tossing from there. uchimatas dont work if you dont get 'body contact or a good pull', sorry thats the best way say it. the mechanics of the throw is less of a back-giveaway as compared to the more famous seionagi. not defending the throw enough can be costly. this works also in the clinch if the opponent has double underhooks on u and their balance is pushing u backwards, it's a smooth ride from there.

  • Not really, if you fail go straight for the other leg for an ankle sweep. Usually if they both don't work they're trying to back off to stop you from attacking the other leg so you can straighten out to your position again. IMO I ain't no expert.

  • That's why it's very important to constantly practice it so you can master it, and before you even now it, you can throw everyone with it. It's the most difficult Judo throw. An olympic Judoka from Puerto Rico, Abderraman Brenes, suggests that we first practice Tsurikomi Goshi as a foundation to later train Uchi Mata or any other similar throw.

  • my japanese sensei says the same thing

  • very good video with a very good music!

Kose Inoue is the best of uchi mata.

  • i dont understand this??

  • Uchi-Mata is my movef. Koshi or ashi no problem, like them both. But for me, ashi uchi mata is more effective. I win most of my fights with it.

  • My Favourite move,,,,,Uchi-Mata

  • Same, it's like a finnishing move in a fighting game.

  • 2:56 was a nice one

  • OMG ARE U STUPID look the whole video in the end there is songs name

  • What song is it?????

  • I think it's "princess of the universe" from the album "a kind of magic"

  • bel video! great video!

  • 0:15 is the best uchimata performs in the olympic final..GENTLE WAY

  • I liked the one at 0:25 personally, the throw was flawless

  • yeah that was almost perfect

  • Da lhe Brasil !!!!!! 1:24

  • Honorato comanda! heehehe

  • Doesn't work well for short guys.

  • it works, lifting the inner leg. but there are better techniques for short ones.

  • UCHI MATA kick ass throw

  • watch?v=viIj_tNh4lI

  • :50 wasnt that more of a haraigoshi than an uchimata?

  • no? his throwing leg was being his opponents legs.

  • oh oh nevermind i though it was a haraigoshi but it does almost look like i don't please just actually watch then tell me i mean really they use the same pivot and same sweep but not the same leg lol

  • Well, that was one of the most clear examples of an uchimata you picked out :D

Haraigoshi and Uchimata look very similar when executed fast, but in this case it was a clear uchimata

  • wow! 0:25

    great uchimata

by the way if you look closley at 1:29 you can see the guy in the blue gi's arm break

Nice vid didn't like the music to much though

  • it's yoshida who breaks his arm":(

  • who is the guy at 0:25

  • the 2nd one was pretty lame...but 3rd one was awesome

  • omf! miss this fighting now...

  • 0:35 - fat and furious

  • OMFG SLUGDROPSONHEADS THATS A CLEAN UCHIMATA (a)

  • Great techniques! I love Uchi mata!

  • the best sport ever

  • 3:04 this is the best!

  • yeah 3:04 owns

  • Koga

  • who is the guy at 0:28?

  • crazy good video but i dont think its an uchimata at 0:26 cuz he sweeps both feet a little it changes the technique name...

  • nasty arm break at 1:30

  • Yup i caught that too

  • At 1.30

    Man, THAT GOTTA HURT!

    Oss!

  • man uchi mata is one of my fav throws.

  • n ig jf oms its white vs blue judogi no other colors alllowed you can wear any color you like in training as long as yur sensei doesn't object

  • 1:13 simplemente perfecto, increible

  • the on at 0:25 isn't so bad either :p

  • can u only wear blue and white gi in judo

  • In big tornaments you can only have white an blue Judoga

  • what about in just training can u have diferent colors/also my last question do people have to wear white and blue or can both wear same color sry to ask so many questions

  • if their wear same colour you will probably have to wear another obi over yours only to differentiate.

  • Uchimata is one of the best techniques there are, and also one of my favourites... the music is just perfect!!!

    Hajime

  • exelente video de judo lo mejor de todas las artes marciales
