She left the group because of aspirations to become a solo artist and sing the type of music that she wanted to. She never liked the music they sang, she was more into a rock style of music..plus she clashed with Teri for lead vocals..
Respond to this video...In addition she came back because her solo career went nowhere..It's the same shyt all the time with vocalist in a group..One thinks they can sing better than the other and feels like they should take lead on this song or that song..Both she and Teri are strong vocalist, but Teri is a much better singer..And finally in answer to your response in the future keep your mouth shut because u never know who is online typing...

Samw292002 are u crazy..DAWN, DWAN, DAWN is the reason they broke up........And she looks like a fish..She is actually the least attractive one in the group..Open your eyes and do your homework. They were the top selling group at their time and the only female group that was platinum...She let her ego get the best of her. I agree with you about her ego, but what happen was that b4 the EV3 album came out she had sign a solo deal with someone else, and the head of there record company wanted the girls to sign a 2 year contract, and the other girls did, but when Dawn found about the 2 year contract it was in a meeting so she felt that she was being ganged up on

Samw292002 are u crazy..DAWN, DWAN, DAWN is the reason they broke up........And she looks like a fish..She is actually the least attractive one in the group..Open your eyes and do your homework. They were the top selling group at their time and the only female group that was platinum...She let her ego get the best of her. And Karma came back and bit that A#$#..Cause she was not successful as a solo artist...

I agree with you about her ego, but what happen was that b4 the EV3 album came out she had sign a solo deal with someone else, and the head of there record company wanted the girls to sign a 2 year contract, and the other girls did, but when Dawn found about the 2 year contract it was in a meeting so she felt that she was being ganged up on

Ok.? Thanks for all that information, but i dont really care. I grew up listening to Dawn in Lucy Pearl and I liked her solo album. I know the facts and they dont change the fact that Im a fan of hers. I love every member of en vogue, but dawn just happens to be my favorite. And as far as her looks...everyone has a different perception of beauty. DAWN! DAWN! DAWN!

they're still hot mama's too. Being a rock man myself i enjoyed these ladies because not only were they great soulful singers but like micheal jackson they had the versatility to have a presence in the rock world with songs like this one and free your mind in particular!
