'Something they never could have created for themselves'? Spoken like someone who's never gotten MRSA. Or HIV. Or the flu.
Bacteria are ESPECIALLY able to 'create' protections for themselves because there are so many individuals (and thus so many unique mutation opportunities) and they reproduce so quickly compared to us bigger organisms.
If you watch bacteria grow in a high-powered microscope and know how mutation and heredity work, you too will marvel at 'creation.'
@maharito All evolutionists have is hot air on the mostly anonymous Internet. We have the real science backed up by the $10,000 Life Science Prize. You can evolve from a chicken and win the prize or make cowardly remarks on websites until you ultimately die and become a creationists after it's too late. My last remark to you is something that everyone understands: CLUCK, CLUCK, CLUCK.
So a book dated from 2000 years ago suggesting a man lived then died... then came back to life existed?
There is no evidence that suggests he ever existed.
However we have evidence of evolution... on a miniscule scale, bacteria conjugate. Sharing information and becoming resistant to antibiotics by a faulty gene.. or adaptation.. this means eventually most bacteria will become resistant to antibiotics... A small scale example of evolution.
Number 1....The fact you use the word "we" (as if you're a scientist) shows you been heavily evo-indoctrinated.
Number 2.....Historians ALL agree in Historical Jesus (including Atheists and Agnostics). Its "supernatural Jesus" that is debatable. A man named Jesus was in fact crucified by the Romans and that is a FACT.
The part that is "faith" is his divine qualities that some believe in. Wikipedia has a very long article written about historical Jesus. I suggest you get educated
That's why I listen to BIOLOGISTS (unlike Charles Darwin who had no Biology degree) such as Dr. Jonathan Wells, Dr. Rick Oliver, Dr. Ian Macreadie, Dr. Michael Denton, Dr. David Menton, Dr. Ann Gauger, and Dr. Paul Nelson. All of them are BIOLOGISTS.
Even Dr. Francis Crick (who 1st discovered DNA) stated it was far too complex to have arose by chance.
@evoTARDSareINSANE "I understand Biology perfectly (unlike you TROLL)" Why don't you demonstrate this retard? Why don't you supply one of your UNFOUND research papers?
Not only does natural selection fail to account for the mechanisms of survival, it eliminates any possibility that organisms can evolve from one kind to another. This is because any change would have to be complete and functional before it could be selected. In other words, natural selection prohibits gradual changes that eventually become an advantage, because before the organism could evolve to be a functioning unit, it would be selected out as nonviable.
Great video! Natural selection cannot account for such things as biofilm because natural selection only SELECTS mechanisms that provide an advantage for survival. Natural selection does not explain how the mechanisms arrived in the first place.
Funny. 1 celled organisms working together, filling perfectly 'the gap' between 'one celled' & 'multi cellular' life. And it's used as an argument Against evolution, just because we don't know how they do it. Yet. Lets face it guys, if it was up to you, any research would come to a grinding halt and be replaced by a big God sign. Lightning? Rainbows? Heartbeat? Blood Clotting? Sight? MAGIC! Uh, no we capture the reflecting light. Capturing reflecting light? Magic! Ad Infinitum
It doesn't need to be the argument of the video, that is the underlying point. You're still trying to argue with people who are clearly several realms of intelligence above you?
This video explains how these particular single cell organisms operate. Correct?
Now, if you accept that single cell organisms exist, then does common sense not tell you the only way you can have a multicellular lifeforms is from them COMBINING? I.E., clearing the "GAP" through EVOLUTION?
And on the same token, why is there not even a REMOTE description of a CELL in the bible ANYWHERE?
Hopefully those words were sharp enough to cut through the cardboard box you keep around your brain...??

You're ending this because you can't possibly make any less sense unless you start talking in random word salads.
To reiterate, the point the video is trying to make is absolutely irrelevant to what wimscheers originally said, which was what you replied to, and where I jumped in.

I believe we're here to figure out why we're here. Matter wants to ponder its origins. :)
Far more beautiful than "i have to be good otherwise my magic sky daddy will send me to an eternal pit of fire". Don't you agree?
And yes, I can scientifically explain the claims of the video itself:
From cooperlab ( .) wikidot (. ) com / biofilm
"...biofilm synergy was caused by nutrient cross-feeding and the partitioning of biofilm space, such interactions among mutant pairs are mutualistic. The colony morphologies and their associated mutations that evolved in each population demonstrate substantial convergent evolution and suggest that altered metabolism [of ...] underlie biofilm adaptation."
^^ the above is pretty damn chopped down too, what I wanted to paste was 500 characters over the limit on its own. See the URL for full explanation if you really want to get technical about it.
Why is there a need for a description of a cell in the Bible? There isn't a description of toe nails. Do you think that the Bible is a biology textbook?
You said "But they don't seem to care no where in the bible is anything of a cell mentioned." Why should it matter that cells are not mentioned in the Bible? It's an irrelevant thesis, so why bring it up?
It's not irrelevant. God should know the future. God should also know how much evidence a cognent, intelligent and rational being would need since he created them, right? So it only seems logical, if I were god, that I would include something about a cell, or a double helix, or anything that may not make sense then but would blow the minds of every single person on the planet in the future.
Or is that being far too clever for god since god is actually a creation of primitive man? Hmm..
How do you think that God would describe the cell so that someone from the future would understand it and know that it was intended for them, yet not tip his hand to earlier people who he didn't want to know, and thereby force the discovery of the cell?
How would he be forcing it when it would inevitably be discovered on its own? When is too soon, and why?
"god could easily have said something along the lines of "blood is made of pieces you cannot see, pieces who are each alive and hold the essence of life, whos walls are clear .........."
If your implying how could god explain something so complex to primitive people without explaining cells scientifically -- I easily just did.
Do you benefit or learn from our exchanges, serious question?
"When is too soon, and why?" You established the criteria of future-ness when you stated "that may not make sense then but would blow the minds of every single person on the planet in the future."
God did say "For the life of the flesh is in the blood"
Why would God need to explain the complexity of life since the Bible isn't a biology textbook.
Our exchanges provoke thought.
What you appear to be looking for is prophecy. And it's there.
@SounzNice "filling 'the gap' wasn't the argument" No, it's the fallacy. We don't know how 1 celled could ever go multi celled, hence God must have done it. And once we find out, youll just go find another gap in our knowledge and place your proof of God there.
I have watched half a dozen of these videos now and i think they are great, they are like from a whole new slightly surreal world where some bits of science are accepted at face value and in totality and other bits are dismissed out of hand.
I thought this video was going to make the argument that bacteria must have immaterial souls to act this way but it seems the narrator wasn't prepared to take his spurious claims where he really should have.
Yes he does that a lot. He could simplify it a whole bunch but I think he wants to sound overly-technical like he's actually a credible and knowledgeable source.
I've said time and time again that it's amazing that someone could put so much effort into learning science incorrectly. It's about as productive as teaching your kid how to talk backwards.
It's all done a bit like something from the 70's though isn't it. Do you reckon that is a bit of a ploy to make it seem a bit more homely and less threatening?
Yeah, totally. I also noticed how remarkably close they try to vocally mimic respected documentary makers like David Attenborough or Terry Jones. It is my belief they do this in hopes of snagging a non-believer and fool them with a false sense of credibility. Admittedly, maybe it just feels that way to me because I'm an American and he has a British accent too. I am not completely sure :)
"It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers [etc.]" Isaiah 40:22 (NKJ). When Isaiah wrote this verse he used the Hebrew word "khug" to describe the shape of the earth. Although this word is commonly translated into the English word "circle," the literal meaning of this word is "a sphere."3
My ignorance? You're the one who claimed the bible says that we are made of things we cannot see and cannot provide a verse that actually says anything of the sort.
I didn't ask you to read it for me, I asked for the specific verse you were referencing. You're quite the arrogant prick, you know that? Don't you ever jump into an argument claiming the bible says something without being fully prepared to quote the verse you're talking about.
Another brainless christian who can't even validate his own point. Shocker.
If i sem arogant and uncooperative it is that I tire of argueing with people that do not do their own research and want others to show them thing they should find for themselves.
If you would actually read the book you would see it.
Thy eyes saw my substance, yet being imperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them
Then don't open dialog with people and you won't grow tired of debating. Quite the concept, huh?
First, the verse you're quoting in no way shape or form states that "we are created out of things you cannot see".
Second, googling this verse turns up no such match. I'm not sure what version of the bible you're getting it from, but sites like bible (. ) cc have it in 15+ different versions. I'm not implying you're just making it up, but what verse is this supposed to be? Psalm 193:16 ?
So are you claiming that the other 15+ translations available on bible ( .) cc are all mistranslations? None seem match your "translation" even loosely.
They wouldn't. You have to understad the meanings of the idiograms in Hebrew. The translation in the bible is the literial form. The hebrew was a language that has hidden meanings . To understand them you need to learn Hebrew.
'Something they never could have created for themselves'? Spoken like someone who's never gotten MRSA. Or HIV. Or the flu.

In the Hebrue,( do you want me to teach you that too?)
it loosly translates the code you made me from.

Oh just now saw this 2nd comment...
