How to Setup a File Sharing connection between two Macs

ok so hypothetically,

in order to sign into my computer i type in

blah blah (as my user name)

and

password (for my computer password)

is this the same one i type in for fileshare???

cause its not working. at all

and now every time i open system pref. it doesn't respond after three seconds
