i would strongly suggest not do do the 'ten books' like in this video unless! you have got your splits good and down on the floor just some advice good video though :)

Hey, A good way to increase your flexibility is to obviously stretch :p don't over stretch, if it hurts, stop. But when your stretching, hold it for like 10-15 seconds. I was never able to so a split until my freshmen year and I'm a sophomore now in high school so just a couple months of Fall and Winter cheerleading helped me get both left and right splits down. Its all within the stretching that will help, goood luck! :)
when you put books under your toes its called super splits.. i am flat in all 3 splits because of those i do them for 10 minutes on both sides at dance and in the middle with mates folded up at dance it helps alot!

I am getting better at splits, but the trouble is, my legs do not straighten in any of them, it's really annoying, have you got any tips for keeping your legs straight?
@missLkitson Itally deped for everyone. Some people are naturally flexible. I started stretching for 20 minutes 5 days a week when I was almost 21 back in April. I;m still working on my splits today...and I warm up and do a cool down afterwards, hold each stretch for 30 seconds stretching every single muscle required for the splits, and then I warm up again and then go into my front splits and hold it for 1 minute. I'm close, but still don't have the last few inches down.

When you're in a lunge you should put your knee to your ankle. When you do the reverse lunge you should put your hand under your knee so you don't hyper-extend it.

Been useing the stretch rack for the middle splits but I think it's actually a torcher device. Lol
