I have this same model cymbal that I bought 11 years ago (wow, has it been that long?) and it has a lot more overtones than this one.

but that's Zildjian.

My guess is that they record these with just one or two nice overhead mics. It also seems like they're in an awesome sounding room, so that can contribute to why these demos sound great.

drums prolly use the MAY miking system inside them plus an overhead mic for the cymbals, iunno just my guess
