How do those bottom-drive motors work? Do those ropes on the main motor drive another secondary pulley at the top? There is no way the ropes could bend around like that to attatch to the elevator and the weight.
the bell is screwed up when you first started the video itill you called it it ring 1,000,000,000,000 times they need to fix that bell.smooth, quiet, nice, and relable elevator.
one time some where I forget but it was a schiendler/haughton it started to ring like that and the indecator kept flashing and never opened it did that for a month I think it was a garage in pittsburgh
In addition, the elevator at UT Austin Parking Garage 3 uses this drive method, but unfortunately doesn't allow basement or rooftop access, due to the equipment location.
Hydraulic elevators are pushed by hydraulic ram - a pole. A traction elevator is hung from the top by steel cables, and is also attached to a counterweight.

Strange how that bell won't stop. There was a train station elevator where the bell would just keep ringing till the door closed.

The wind up of the traction machine is pretty cool, but the bell takes the cake for making this sucker unique.

The Sky Lobby elevators at the World Trade Center in New York City used to ring non-stop as well, along with the directional light flashing.
