  • How do those bottom-drive motors work? Do those ropes on the main motor drive another secondary pulley at the top? There is no way the ropes could bend around like that to attatch to the elevator and the weight.

  • I like the basement traction unit..

  • About the bell- That's Dover for ya.

  • i love how you can see the parts inside. that is awesome!

  • No buzzes = European Dover Elevator

  • the bell is screwed up when you first started the video itill you called it it ring 1,000,000,000,000 times they need to fix that bell.smooth, quiet, nice, and relable elevator.

  • Strange how that bell won't stop. There was a train station elevator where the bell would just keep ringing till the door closed.

  • dover screwed up the bell wont quit

  • tractoin elevators are the best there fast and reliable smooth and quiet

  • it needs a new controller

  • Apart from the constant bell, the controller's fine.

  • they should make more traction and less hydralic

  • saves power

  • but traction is much faster

  • Yes,It saves power

  • one time some where I forget but it was a schiendler/haughton it started to ring like that and the indecator kept flashing and never opened it did that for a month I think it was a garage in pittsburgh

  • Did you film it?

  • No I didnt film it it was before I had youtube

  • Also, the Austin Medical Plaza's Garage elevator bell on the 4th floor constantly rings, and I'll get a video of it soon.

  • The wind up of the traction machine is pretty cool, but the bell takes the cake for making this sucker unique.

  • The Sky Lobby elevators at the World Trade Center in New York City used to ring non-stop as well, along with the directional light flashing.

  • what kind where they I want to go there but then they were destroyed by planes

  • That's the same snow maker we got here in Jackson it was fun but it melted after the snow storm passed

  • The snow stayed here for a couple of days.

  • The direction bell rang 12 times, since I counted the times it rang.

  • Yeah, the controller is messed-up. It did the same thing o the top floor.

  • I like that bell. Bong...bong...bong...bong...bong...bong etc.

  • Yeah, something is messed up with the controller.

  • did you find out why the bell kept going off non stop?

  • no idea.

  • In addition, the elevator at UT Austin Parking Garage 3 uses this drive method, but unfortunately doesn't allow basement or rooftop access, due to the equipment location.

  • Same thing here.

  • what's the difference between a hydraulic and geared traction elevators

  • Hydraulic elevators are pushed by hydraulic ram - a pole. A traction elevator is hung from the top by steel cables, and is also attached to a counterweight.

  • #49 - Top Favourites (Today) - Travel & Events - Global

  • Interesting to see traction machine working

  • And all of the parking garage elevators at Emory except the schindler ones are like that.

  • that is a very rare Bottom Drive System

  • we dont have these elevator systems there just normal
