Great job. I haven't used reactor in Max (since the trial expired and I'm getting used to blender), but from this and some other videos I've seen, it's awesome.
Looking through the comments, you say cheers a lot.
Contrary to popular belief, tanks can be kind of fragile, and they are tough to drive... a little bouncy sure... but you can flip a tank right over if you are inexperienced
@Talmore As someone who has driven a tank... I disagree.... The breaks on an A1 Abrahams are designed to stop 369 tons of machinary powered by twin jet engines. They are very powerful and very sensitive. It would be ignorant to flip it, but not difficult.
This is really good, apart from the bouncing part on that brick there... set the bricks much smaller for a more intricate visual effect, i probably dont know as much as you though, im only a first year. Check out my noob animations for a laugh :D... love this though, really good inspiration for me to be honest.
It looks like it doesn't weigh very much... the tank should weigh a lot compared to the treads, so when it rolls over bricks, the suspension compresses rather than having the whole thing just bounce over them.
Extremly nice dude! thats awesome use of reactor:D one thing i have to say thoug is that you should try making the tank heavier. so it doesnt fly so much.^^ Keep up the good work:D
did you animate the tracks too? must have taken like months to calculate!
I have done that before (simulate the tracks movement actually coming from the wheels) but It takes so much time to calculate, I had to try it with bigger tracks so they make only about 25 in total.
wow, that is the most impressive thing i have seen a nonproffesional pull off yet. i love that environment, a little bare but still impressive. what program did you use? and is it hard to put together a game/movie if your just a lone dude with a great idea?
I'm a lone dude with a great idea. This was made in 3 days time. So, guess yourself. And I did not care 'bout the evironment. Maybe someday I'll post a fully detailed animation. Mayby not.
to be honest its looks delicopus real whole movements of tank suspension there is no simulation which make it look more real sad that is only rendered anim
That is if you whant to make a game in the first place.
And for suspension, try to make First and last set of road wheels some 20-30% tougher then the rest of the wheels, i think that the result will be more realistic.
Anyway you did make a great tread animation, it would be great if the game creators would do the same job.
Nice!

Wow. I certainly flipped that one couple of times XD
Thanks for the info.

@NobleValerian as someone who has driven a tank, not so easy to flip. You would have to be a total idiot to flip one.Very bumpy yes, very.

The tank doesn't look very stable. I wouldn't want to ride in this.

i´ll try to make a tank :)

Great! only suggestion is to increase the weight, it bounces too much

yea...idk if the program used has options abould the suspention system...in case the answer is yes:
make it LESS strong (so the wheels get more realistic when passing over small objects...a single wheel dont lift the wheight of the tank...) ( 0:05 )
and more/less damping value so it shake for less time... ( 0:15 )

that's a good use of reactor.

You should definitely put more in the scene. That would make me rate it 5 stars and not 4. Good work though.

Very nice. There is a little to much spring in the tank when it is sitting idle. Other than that looks great!

You could always hook up with a programer...
That is if you whant to make a game in the first place.
