thanks for the tutorial but my dad used to copy dvds and he used a program (unavailable now) and it copyed from a dvd in 1 drive to a dvd in another drive... xilisoft and imtoo have done programes like that but they dont work and are pretty confusing but thanks again

At 3:45 when you're talking about loading the .iso with DVD Decrypter, you forgot to mention that Mode > ISO > Write has to be checkmarked, or the program won't display the same thing you show in the video (won't be able to select the source). I know that you mention it later, but it'd be better to have said it sooner. (I had to go searching around DVD Decrypter to find out how your screen looked differently than mine as I was doing this while watching, paused often..)

@Eatyerfries Generally, no. If you do this to make backups of your own purchased movies, there's nothing anyone can do to you. If you're mass producing videos and giving them out to all your friends and such, you could get into trouble if anyone actually turned you in (and then, only if anyone actually cared to follow up and investigate you for the "piracy".)

id like to possibly clear the air a little about this subject. what this girl is showing you is in no way illegal at all, it is only considered piracy when you copy then sell it illegally. as stated by law you are allowed to make your own personal backup of all of your movies. and the original disc will be fine aswell, all its doing is reading the disc at a faster rate than ud normally watch it and remembering everything exactly as it happens in the movie...

awesome vid, google search dvd shrink, downloaded it made all my ISOs real quick, then google searched for dvd decryptor and it burned all my ISO file to blank DVDRs and is working perfectly! Thanks for the informative and very straight forward how-to. Keep in mind people, old laaptops may struggle with this due to lack of RAM or HD space, a single .ISO file is right around 4GB. I bought THREE DVD+R DoubleLayer 8x Speed 8.5GB dvds and NONE of them will allow me to copy to them.... every programme i use doesnt reconise them at all and this same programme also doesnt reconise it (respond to it) I am kinda pissed cuz these disc's were not cheap at all!!!!!! plzzzzzzzzzz gelp me, by giving me a programme that will help me with this problem, or not I'll have to carry it back, and i dont wanna have to carry it back to the store...

@naniiloom its on the pack of dvds usually, and if you dont have the original pack it should be written on the dvd itself. if you cant find it, 4x works. thats what i leave mine at no matter what type of dvd i use.

@Damon2743 if you have a dual layer disk (which are a lot more expensive) then you can just use dvd decryper. otherwise you have to use both of them.

@STREETDEVILz666 no. the other dude didnt know what he was talking about. its not pirated technically. pirating is only when you copy it for profit. if you do exactly the same thing you did as if it was an original dvd it would copy, the only difference is dvd shrink would not need to shrink the file from 9gb to 4.5gb. or you could just use dvd decrypter and forget about dvdshrink all together. I've done it many times before to make copies for friends.

yea, when you open dvd shrink instead of clicking open disk click on open files, and find the file the movie is on. and then everything after that should be the same as in the video.

it might be your computer, my uncles computer always does that. otherwise you have a dvd-r when you need a dvd+r.

if not, then i have no idea. if you followed everything right, then it should have worked.
