It's weird how most of the men I have ever thought were gay just by looking at them and hearing them talk were actually gay, yet some women who I thought were lesbian were really just masculine and not gay at all. It's really hard to spot a lesbian compared to a gay man. I have been working with a lesbian and would of never guessed if it were not for the gay pride tattoo on her arm.

I'm glad that research is being done on this but I must say that I have a number of gay friends who don't seem stereotypically gay. My best friend is the prime example of that. He's got a very deep voice, he's athletic, and loves hiking and all those other things. I have a lesbian friend who is probably the biggest girly girl that I know. Because this is field that takes an actual inate SKILL. Some people are born with it some arent..(See next).
as i was saying, some have it..Some dont. The BEST Psychologists..are BORN, not TAUGHT. And with that said, ALOT of psychologists that exist, arent the ones that are born. Your professional advice is for me is to ignore all the scientific evidence about homosexuality, and search for the few discredited physiologists who believe homosexuality is learned and turn myself over to reparative therapy, which has been proven a failure, not just for me personally, but for anyone who tries.
I was raised in a small conservative town in North Florida. Nothing in my past would have encouraged me to be gay. The opposite was true. I heard nothing but how horrid gay people are. When I told my mother of my feelings, I spent 7 years in therapy trying to change me.

..but young CHILDREN on the other hand, there whole MIND is literally like Play-Doe (lol you know, the soft stuff kids play with that you can "Easily shape and mold"). EVERYTHING about a childs psychology..can literally be shaped or molded. These are called the Developemental Years / ages...and these are THEE most crucial time periods of a child life.

They wouldn't rant, have poor grammar and put half their words in capitals. Nor would they refer to themselves as "very gifted and skilled" - they would just state their professional qualifications. Really good comment and I absolutely agree. It is irritating to me the dependence on the bible. Religious people lack their own word which I find very hard to respect. I had boy toys and destroyed girl ones. I owned dinky cars and played with legos, making cars and robots. I feel masculine, I look and act masculine. I like men however, masculine men. I'm glad that research is being done on this but I must say that I have a number of gay friends who don't seem stereotypically gay. My best friend is the prime example of that. He's got a very deep voice, he's athletic, and loves hiking and all those other things. I have a lesbian friend who is probably the biggest girly girl that I know. So even though the results of this isolated experiment support stereotypes, my personal experience has broken stereotypes.

There has been nothing but complete failure in all of these attempts.
The APA has concluded reparative therapy does a great deal of harm, and never produces any positive results.

Gay folk are just like everyone else. We want to live, work, play, and Love, just as anyone else.
We have jobs, pay taxes, raise children, and make mistakes just as everyone else.

@SurreallTV A professional psychologist would simply give me a reference to an independent, peer-reviewer research paper published in a professional academic journal. They wouldn't rant, have poor grammar and put half their words in capitals. Nor would they refer to themselves as "very gifted and skilled" - they would just state their professional qualifications. You need to read up a bit more on the profession if you want to pass yourself off as something you're not.

I doubt you are a professional in the mental health field.
You say homosexuals reject all facts and science on the subject. Almost all scientific conclusions support what we say. There are few in the mental health field who believe homosexuality is a learned behavior.
There has not been one peer reviewed study in the last 30 years stating what you claim.
You said you can prove right now gay is not genetic or natural, well prove it.

Really good comment and I absolutely agree. It is irritating to me the dependence on the bible. Religious people lack their own word which I find very hard to respect. In fact, using definitions to object smth is really limited, stating that smth is bad because it is not according to a rule is really lame and yet a lot of people depend on this sadly. It's like they are afraid of freedom. There is a great book by E.Fromm "Fear of Freedom", recommend to read.

what ive always wondered is how people develope same sex atractions. i myself am bi but only in my later teenage years, when i was 17, did i just start having homosexual attractions and took till i was 18 to be romantically attached to men just like i am with women. that to me always confused me as to how it just started happening and i basicly been accepting but always wondering how.

i fail to see how being more feminine has any indication as to whether a person is homosexual or not. i wear make up, spend hours on getting ready each time i go out (straighteining hair etc)(like a steoreotypical female) but i'm not homosexual. as a younger kid i wasn't like either of these boys. (i say younger because i am in fact still a kid, i guess). so what would that make me? a-sexual? bi-sexual? well i am bi, but not 50:50. either was, i fail to see the relation between barbies and

Well if you think that...I was "socialized" to be straight by two heterosexual parents who taught Sunday school, taught me how to cook and clean, and dressed me in cute little dresses with patent leather shoes, and bought me dolls. FYI...I'm gay, and female. Furthermore, I knew when I was 9 that I was different, and by 12 I knew absolutely that I was a lesbian. From my first crush on...I always liked women, even though I was never encouraged in that direction. "U R what U R"

haha i grew my hair out long when i was little, i loved neopets, i was on the girls side in wars, im totally fine and grew up ok. he will likely be fine

@shadowvamp13 He will be "fine" whether he ends up being gay OR straight. But you're right in the fact that liking pink, basically, is not what makes someone gay or straight. Just because the kid doesn't happen to be fond of GI Joes has nothing to do with anything in the long run.
