This is true. I live at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas and we had a 3 week Avatamsaka Sutra recitation session. During the first week a very obvious image of a dragon appeared in a cloud. During the third week, a radiant rainbow colored cloud appeared. It only lasted for the 20 minutes that we were taking a break from reciting. When it was time for us to go, it went away. These rainbows come from the gods, dragons, and spirits of the land, who are happy with the positive energy being created.
For anyone who may doubt whether this is real, I've seen MANY pictures of this auspicious event, taken from different people's cameras, cell phones, video cameras etc.
