It's all momentum. You stop the back wheels from spinning and it stops the momentum from going back and the momentum shifts to the front. Same concept as doing a wheelie. And if you're going to nose dive, you get on the gas

actually its the transfer of energy when your braking/accelerating in air. The energy from the spinning tires gets transferred to the bike as you hit the brakes.
