  • This video is so incredible beautiful. So much pain and emotion in you're voice. Make me cry every time i sliten to it.

  • favorited :)

  • Wow, that was a powerful message! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thumbs up for the song and video. Well done. I cried man. Peace to our veterans and their families.

  • Do you still feel that "this reign of fear soon will end" is true? Obama is trying to end the war but has that effort given you any hope that the war will end?

  • @Posionlily96 Bush actually agreed to a timetable of withdrawal (the Status of Forces agreement) before he left office, and Obama (to date) has kept with it. But Obama definitely ended the "reign of fear", meaning using the politics of fear as a tactic to scare people into submission. And Obama kept his promise about refocusing his efforts on Bin Laden, thankfully. Obama has been far too moderate for my tastes, but he's been way better than Bush was or McCain would have been. My $.02.

  • Sweet Jesus, I am a fully grown man and can't remember the last time I have cried. I just did. Such an amazing and powerful song. I cannot begin to comprehend what is happening over there and for what? So many people dying, so many families losing mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. War will never change, I just pray that enough people can see this song and end this whilst there is still a world, still hope, still a future. May Lord God bless your soul

  • More people have died in this unjust war than the people who perished in the Twin Tower Covert Operation. When will the Tyranny be stopped, it is time for the PEOPLE to revolt!

  • I only just noticed the line "This reign of fear soon will end" followed by a picture of President Obama.

Considering the video was uploaded in 2008, let's hope it's prophetic.

  • Respect Mike! I wanna play this on my guitar. Can you send me the chords of this amazing song?

  • The millions you deserve to make

  • Mike, I have watched and been a fan since “Behind Blue Eyes”, but could you include some UK soldiers in this video, as it’s not only the US who are involved in this unjust war.

  • @MrCarbohydrate79 :046. I guess this video is "American-centric" because 1) I'm American, and 2) I blame the American government primarily for starting the war.

  • @mikemassedotcom Points well made, good sir.

Keep up the great work. :-)

  • I love this video sooo much. You did an amazing job.. I may be just another person like the next girl or guy. But, I feel the same way as you. Im sure many of us do. Only if our so called leaders, would actually care about there people and realize we have lost soo many in our wars, and even as im writing this, and you're reading this, people in the war are dieing. It's just so upsetting that they arn't going through with there promises..

  • So beautiful it takes me to a surreal place. I wish for so many things to change in this world, starting with the way we treat one another.

  • This is so beautiful! I start crying everytime i hear this. You can realy hear the pain and despair in your voice. And the chorus is absolutely amazing

  • Comment removed

  • support our soldiers not the war or the dictator who started it

  • Glad to see your vote got all our MEN home!

  • Beyond words! Only tears can speak for our lips upon hearing this!

  • I just am at a loss as to the inhumanity of our leaders and the endless greed they send our children to die for.... they have no hearts or souls.

  • Two more years later, and the song is even more relevant. I love all your work (including your covers), but your talent deserves being matched with great original stuff. I would offer one criticism (and it may be just a personal taste of mine)---if I were you I would drop the background orchestration, and keep it simple and acoustic. Acoustic music has a rawness and honesty to it that would fit well with this song, and I know you are a master of acoustic from your other vids. Thanks so much!

  • may be 911 wasn't the worst day in our history, but the day we (america) invaded irak and our finnest soldiers, friens, and family sterted to loose their lifes as we started to lose our trust in our goverment. But never in our soldiers. May be one day we may start to care about this war based in lies (wapons of mass destruccion) but Im also sure that by that time we will be led to belive an other lie as always.

  • Dear all, a message preaching the need of peace, love, restrain and accountability through music accompanied by truly moving images. No other messages, intentional or otherwise intended here. There are many among us who, regardless of race, language or religion, shares the same values too. Written and performed by an otherwise unknown albeit talented, American pub musician. A brilliant piece of work.

  • Mike, I have been watching your performances for perhaps a year now. What i saw was a talented performer, albeit an excellent one. Your cover of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here alone should have given me an insight of you as a person.

Your song and the accompanying stills moved me to tears. My little daughter who is 4years old who was beside me asked me if I was alright. My wife who herself is a professional singer was reduced too tears too. Will pass on your message. Brilliant work, mate!

  • @MrGuitarrez Thanks for commenting. It's great to hear when someone appreciates my original stuff, too.

  • We are all human, we all have loved ones and ones that love us. No matter what side of the fence. War will always be part of Past Present and Future and to anyone who serves to protect the freedom and prosperity of the country that they serve, thank you for your sacrifice. My family has had many that served as far back as the Civil War up to this war and knowing they are there is a painful and eye opening experience until the day that they come home. I lost 2 good friends in Iraq.

  • All that evil needs to prosper is for good men to do nothing.

  • Mike,

I had to watch/listen to it today, Memorial Day. It is so very powerful.

  • Though conservative on a number of issues, I see no good reason to have invaded. The only reasonable justification cannot be phrased in terms American national security or the like. If anything we have increased anti-American sentiment in the region. Saddam's oppression and slaughter of many Kurds is the best reason in my mind. With that line of reasoning Darfur, not Iraq, should be our first concern. I hope that I am wrong and the Iraqi invasion ends in success and is not a mistake.

  • Wow!! Powerful stuff.

"There are no passengers on planet earth. We are all crew"..

  • Hi Mike-

I was watching this video for the umpteenth time and realized I hadn't given you well-deserved props.

Just goes to show, when world-class talent, smarts and heart come together, the result is awe inspiring. Superb on every level.

    Thanks,

    Russ Buchanan

  • Thanks for the kind words, Russ!

  • Mike, your music is inspiring to me, and your voice is tremendous. I am an American military man who came back to serve at the age of 51 and I "visited" Iraq. Although I disagree that it was a needless war I will continue to fight and serve for your right to disagree. I was at one of Hussein's palaces and we confiscated a 4 x 8 painting of Bin Laden and Hussein standing and smoking cigars and laughing with a picture of the twin towers burning in the background. I just wanted to tell my side.

  • Thanks for commenting, and for serving! Of course Hussein probably rejoiced on 9/11, but that doesn't mean he was involved. And I'm sure you're not suggesting that a painting is proof of anything. Not even Bush or Cheney is bold enough to claim there was a link to this day. There are a lot of supposed justifications for the Iraq War, but 9/11 simply can't be one of them. And the fact that the war was sold that was is both outrageous and sad. But like you said, we can agree to disagree.

  • This needs a hell of alot more views..... people need to see, to hear how we, the people, really feel

  • Listened to this for the first time in months and cried....

  • excellent song, Mike!

  • great photos...nice job on the song

  • Mike You Have seriously Done An Amazing Song....i Heard All Your Covers and have followed through almost every video....i am in love with your vocals n music style...i want to hear you so much....everytime i would just hear your songs on youtube then i get goosebumps...cause your vocals are just touching...is there a way where i can buy your songs or cover?....i want it in my ipod....im a huge Fan..

  • ...a deep and touching song mike....i know how you feel...i too have posted a song i wrote...in response to this needless WAR!!1.and loss of lives...be they Military or civilian...5*****s and subbed my friend!!

  • Great song, Mike!

It really touched me deeply, and I hope that this stupidity will end soon.

  • yh i agree! ;[

  • Do you still believe that 9-11 was a terrorist's attack??? If I remember well no one of "9-11 attackers" were Iraqi. There are also an innocent people even in Iraq so why must they pay for US goverment's behind-the-scenes politics?

  • 9-11??? OO is that your argument for a war where lots of peaceful people died? Is that an argument with unsleepless nights cause a woman cant believe that her husband is dead?....damn man! i hope this is a f**** joke! Blame yourself!

  • Very true about the Brits. I used the only pictures of Brit funeral services I found when I was assembling the video. But agreed, the song was intended to be universal in its message of mourning.

  • thanks mike for a positive message! take cre x

  • well done on all levels, mike. kudos.

  • ummm..... does that mean we should go and kill our own troops in some random conflict... we dont have to retaliate u looser

  • I'm assuming you're responding to AC75904.

  • No 9-11 wasn't a mistake. However, it was a mistake to go into Iraq so Bush could finish up what his daddy didn't do. We needed to go into Afghanastan immediately and find Bin Laden, capture him, execute him and get the fuck out. That's all we needed to do. When we went into Iraq to find the WMD's that were never there to begin with, it was a mistake. What was an even bigger mistake was to keep troops there this long. We're still in Iraq. Why?

  • I blame the leaders who attacked a country which had nothing to do with 911. The fact that you even mention 911 in the context of Iraq shows how mislead you are--or how mislead you've chosen to be.

  • You're damn right!

  • i've posted a video response ...i believe we are along the same lines my friend!!1

    love peace and respect

    ,steve..

  • Wow, too! This should be playing daily or more often on every radio station ... period.

The fact that it has less that 2k views is almost criminal.

Come to San Diego - we can find any number of clubs who would love to have your talent playing.

Great song - by a very accomplished artist!

  • wow, this really got to me, moved me, caused a huge lump in my throat. excellent job!

  • Not only well produced... But a point well made!

Hope many more get to see this

  • God bless our troops

    God help our country

  • Mike I am touched deeply by your art. A soft man I am not, though no soldier.I was moved to sobbing tears by your song and the images in the video. You are destined to greatness Mike. Your music will affect millions all over the world thru You Tube alone, and something tells me this is small compared to what is ahead for you. Rock on Mike. Peace be with you.

  • ah... wars...

Accursed be he that first invented war.

  • Really nice song

& well produced. This the general feeling of the normal person, will they listen though? Great song for U.S. & British Heros

  • beautiful song, mike.

  • Powerful and moving. The tide has turned for America and the waves of love, instead of fear are heading for the shore.

  • Excellent song and a wonderful job on the music video. Not only are you talented but you're a good person as well.

  • Powerful song, powerful images. A superbly written song that highlights the futility of war. Thanks.

  • May God grant Obama with wisdom and knowledge. The time has come to end this destructive conflict. So we can live in peace.

  • Righteous tune bro!!!

  • I can write a book about this misreble war. But for right now all I can say is that God bless the people died in this war. God bless those whom have been seperated from their families and friends due to this war. God bless those who lost everything they have worked for and built for many many years.
