This is an incredible speech and it is clearly evident to me that she would have been a fantastic President. The way she controls the crowd and compares McCain to Bush. It's masterful.
this is my favorite part of her speech... that Harriet Tubman quote really energized her. it kind of made me like Hillary again, she played on a lot with the ending.
I loved the Harriet Tubman part...you could tell that crowd was so energized and loved everything she said...and, yes, in this country, we keep going! :)
Wow, I actually like this Hillary speech. She isn't raising my blood pressure -- she is lowering it and increasing my feeling of sanity and I am somewhat excited.
(coming from someone who is typically terrified by Hillary!)
why obama? simply because he's a democrat? what makes him qualified??? he's done nothing he has ZERO experiance running anything or deciding on anything. he was very inconclusive on voting on bill's. he voted "present" instead of yes or no on the majority of bills because he cant think for himself he needs to see if his point of view matches whats popular not what is right shedoesnt talk about HOW they will achieve these good intenions either because thier solution is to take yr money.
Hillary, I love you but as a Democrat I will not vote for Obama. I am voting for McCain!! If I vote for Obama it will be contrary to your hard work on behalf of women in politics. McCain/Palin 2008!!!
how is that a contrary? ur voting for a ticket with a woman who is againts abortion, im not a woman but have 3 sis. and a strong mother..and hell i'd want them to have a choice. And as a fellow democrat a very young democrat (18) please do not say "as a 'democrat' i will not vote for obama." Your voting republican, then youre a republican! pityful. DEmocrats have fought for a lifetime on behalf of women, and now you'll turn ur back?
You do realize your logic on voting McCain/Palin simply because there's a woman on the republican ticket rather than looking at the issues at hand is really, really ignorant? You do realize McCain opposed a Senate Bill denying women equal pay for equal work right? You're spitting in Hillary's face for her work in women's rights if you simply vote McCain because he has Palin as his VP.
If You hear the dogs keep going! if you see the torches in the woods keep going! if there shoutin after you keep going! Dont ever stop, keep going! if you want a taste of freedom keep GOING, IT DONT GET BETTER THAN that strait up! OBAMA )* FO SHOOOO!!!
You do realize our being in Iraq has nothing to do with protecting ourselves right? Our involvement in Afghanistan is, but that's clearly on the backburner as Iraq is still the main issue now.
We're protecting ourselves by eliminating prominent insurgency groups. Even in Iraq, the main focus is on the elimination of terrorists and on helping a struggling country back onto it's feet.
I would not call insurgency groups in Iraq a direct threat to our freedom (to our soldiers, yes, but as a nation, no) - and for the terrorists in Iraq excuse - The 9/11 commission found no collaborative relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda and the Pentagon's study of Hussein's Iraq and Al Qaeda showed no connection between the two and the study actually showed that terrorist groups in Iraq existed to terrorize Iraqi citizens to keep Hussein in power, not to work on attacks in the US.
And let's see how gung-ho your idea on you not needing healthcare when you get seriously injured and then you have five or six figure hospital bills on you desk. Social Security only gets you so far.
Alright pointdexter, all those facts are great and all, but let's try common sense here. The Iraqi insurgents and Al-Quaeda are both radical islamic groups, right? okay, and radical islams are those who believe those who do not worship allah must die. SO...
Oh, and though healthcare is a little bad right now, we're all going to end up alot worse if we let a bunch of bozos destroy high-rises with passenger planes.
If you're going to argue politics, using facts is common sense. The fact still remains that Iraqi insurgents are not a threat to our freedom, their main agenda is keeping US influence out of Iraq and not having a co-op Islamic government. SO
Healthcare isn't a "little bad" - you're talking over 50 MILLION of Americans without care - not to mention our ABYSMAL coverage for our soldiers. And need I mention it's Al Qaeda that did 9/11 not Iraq? And need I mention again that Iraq and AQ had no link?
How would you know what the radicals want? are friends with one? All radicals have been known to ate america and want to forcefully convert or kill us all in the name of Islam. Healthcare is an issue. I already agreed with that statement. I know Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, but just like al-quaeda, but just like al-quaeda, the PLO, and every terrorist group before them, they're going to take advantage of us if we let them
2974 civilians died on 911. when your country run by cowboys and biggots invaded iraq, a country who had no connection with the terrorist attack, 9879 civilians were killed on the first day. yeah i dont agree with iraqi insurgents and al quaeda extremists but i also dont agree with the americans fighting a war that is meaningless. the only way they could harm americans is by killing americans who are serving the country over in iraq. america needs to leave that place. its just another vietnam.

They are referring to the widening gap between middle and upper class which determines the opportunities for the lower class to move to middle class, one of the things that has always made the US the land of opportunity. Due to overspending thru the duration of the Bush presidency and tax cuts for the upper 2%, the rich have been getting much richer and the poor getting much poorer, making the move from lower to middle class that much harder. So really they are looking after the lower class.
This has to be the best speech of her political career...

Why don't you look into the history and doings of the Clinton family. They are on the same level as the Bush family. It's amazing, there is all this information available to LEARN what these people really are and what they do. If you did, you would want NO PART of the Clintons. Obama hasn't been exposed yet, he will become one of them in time if not already. America, you are corrupt from within and NONE of you want to see it, you continue to support the lowest form of the human species.
If you think Hillary is amazing on TV, giving a speech, just see her in person giving one. I had the honor to see her speak in Oakland in September/2007. She is AWESOME and VERY AMAZING in person! :)
Ok, so she basically showed everyone that there is no difference between voting for her or Obama and to do whats best for the party and America as a whole. If the Democratic party is going to do whats best for the party and America as a whole, then the super delegates will give Hillary the nomination and Hillary will pick Obama as VP.
Its the only way to guarantee a presidential victory for the Democrats and future elections, otherwise they risk McCain winning the presidential election.
I have a feeling Bill and Hillary will play a big part in Obama's political decisioins in the next 4 years. I can't think of anyone else I would want on my side. McCain thinks GW Bush has done a great job as President, do you really want to take a chance on another 4 years of a Republican leader. OOOOPPPPSSS, did I just call Bush a leader?
The Clintons will not play any part in the decisions Obama makes but it is nice to see they will support Obama and the party...Obama has a new vision that we all like and that is get America back on it's feet...

In any case, Obama's going to win, so keep those delicious tears flowing for us to enjoy :)
HILLARY DID A GREAT JOB TONIGHT!!! When Bush took office in 2001 gas was $1.46 per gallon. We are spending $10 BILLION a month on a war that had nothing to do with 9/11 AND NOW 47 Million people are without healthcare. The list goes on & on.John McCain has voted 95% with BUSH and 100% in 2008.Intelligent americans know the facts.John McCain,Dick Cheney, and Bush don't belong in any office.THANKS HILLARY!!!
RORYGIRL You must be rich, have a great job, health care, nice car and you say to yourself what gas prices are they talking about? Because that would be the only reason I see you voting for McCain. Otherwise you're sounding like a bitter woman a woman who wants payback from every failed relationship you've had in you SORRY LIFE. Get over it this is not personal stop pulling the woman scorn BS and think with your right mind! If you have one that is. Geez! SOME women are so sad!
Wow. I've never been more impressed with her than I am now. She had a bitter disappointment when she lost, but tonight she delivered an impassioned appeal on Obama's behalf. I only hope that her supporters will listen to her and remember that electing McCain would go against everything she stands for, from universal health care to abortion rights to ending the Iraq war.
The word would be Democratic, not Democrat and a whole load of those 18 mil voters were Republicans once there was no longer a primary race to be had with the GOP. You're not a Democrat or you'd get the name of the party right and you would not be voting for McCain since their policies are 180 degrees apart. You're a Republican troll.
It's meant to be a dig. It's a Republican who believes that the Democratic party doesn't deserve the name, so they call it the Democrat party. It's a classic Limbaugh line, actually. That tells you all you need to know.
Definitely agree on this. My bet was on her at the beginning, mainly because this is how I thought she would be during the campaigns.. but she became very bitter at the end.
"with an agenda like that, it makes perfect sense that George Bush and John McCain will be together next week in the twin cities, because these days they're awfully hard to tell apart"
Wow. That's a real zinger. Such an awesome speech.
If she is foolish enough to run against an incumbent Obama who is eligible to run for reelection ... then she is not as wise as I give her credit for.
Well if that is what they are *hoping* for then they can't consider themselves to be allies of Hillary Clinton. Unless they want to disbelieve everything she said in her speech tonight. Which doesn't make sense since the comment was made to applaud her excellent speech.
No one can any more claim to be a Hillary Clinton supporter and not support Obama for president. Not after this speech.
This is an incredible speech and it is clearly evident to me that she would have been a fantastic President. The way she controls the crowd and compares McCain to Bush. It's masterful.

No they did not or it would have been plural, Democrats.
heathr456 3 years ago
It's meant to be a dig. It's a Republican who believes that the Democratic party doesn't deserve the name, so they call it the Democrat party. It's a classic Limbaugh line, actually. That tells you all you need to know.

Hillarys goal was your exact comment!
trying to outshine obama, she wants voters embittered against him because he didnt pick her as VP.

*eyeroll*
You can only believe this of her if you have no respect for her and zero confidence that she means what she says.
Did you listen to the speech at all? No, really. At all?

Hillary has class. She is a commander and chief. She hit a home run.

I lost respect for her during the primary elections but she redeemed herself!

Why she thought she had to tell phony stories about snipers and such...is beyond me...She was brillant with this speech!
Barack kept his cool and took her punches..and Bills as well.Ran a better campaign..but damn she was powerful this night!
Michelle still comes off as more genuine!

Could you upload the video introduction they did before she came up on stage? I'd appreciate it. :D
Thanks for putting this up!

she sounds much more confident than she has been during the primaries.

Such an awesome speech.

haha love that twin cities line!

This one isn't quite finished yet. She will be back in four years and there will be no new Obama to rain on her parade then.
