Go to a Sharks game in HP Pavilion and then tell me we don't have dedicated fans. Maybe we are not the best fans in the NHL, but we are one of the loudest. Look it up. However, I have been to a Wild's game and it's pretty intense as well.
@zcm007adding coyle only would've been an overpayment if burns didn't sign an extension. But now that burns is under contract 6 years, the trade is a win-win for both sides.
@Hopper830 I still think we could have gotten Burns plus his extension without throwing in Coyle. It's just that I looked him up and the kid is incredible when looking at his resume; I was already a fan of his. I would have rather given up an extra first round pick instead of Coyle to complete that trade. But still, I believe in DW, he knows what he is doing and why.
@zcm007attack The Wild GM said at the draft this trade doesn't get done without Coyle. You have to give to get and Coyle is maybe 3 years away from reaching the NHL. I think wilson made the right decision considering he got a 26 year old top 2 defencemen in Burns.
welcome to the sharks you get to play with a team who makes the playoffs every year who always win the hardest division in the in the nhl and a team that has chance to win a cup and in california compared to where its cold and minnesota and not make the playoffs with a wild team every year no offense to wild fans but were gonna miss setoguchi and the hat trick he pulled off against the red wings in the playoffs wish him luck there but cant wait to see burns play for the sharks.
@showbiz408 You mean the most fairweather fans in the NHL, right??? I doubt californians are still going to be "hockey fans" when your team is at the bottom of the Western Conference. Minnesota hasn't been to the playoffs in three years and every game is a sellout. He just left the best fans in the nhl, lol.
@WEGSxIRISH Obviously you don't know how tight SJ followed their team when they were losing more than they were winning. Fairweather? Ha! Your ignorance describes you. Nice try. Fail!
@mdf75arm88 You may think you are hockey fans, but you will not know what a hockey fan really is until you've been to the upper midwest(MN, WI, MI), Canada (obviously), and the northern East Coast. Devin Setoguchi and Charlie Coyle inherited the better fans, but Burns inherited the better team.
@WEGSxIRISH Ive watched games in Montreal and in Vancouver which they say are the best fans, And then Ive went to HP aka that Shark Tank and that crowd is the most loyal ever. They are loud and love thier Sharks. Everywere you go you See Sharks logos and everyone is wearing thier sharks jerseys even on the off season. Get your ass to California and watch a game then talk.
@WEGSxIRISH Really then how come most analysts say the Shark Tank is the loudest arena in the league? Why do so many players who have played for many teams including the Sharks always turn to the Shark Tank saying it was the best atmosphere to play in?
@danynumero6 The sharks are consistently really good. I just doubt it would be such an awesome atmosphere if the Sharks were at the bottom of the Western Conference.
@WEGSxIRISH Believe me they still would. when the Sharks were really bad they still sold out. Like the year where they set the record for most losses in a season in 92-93 they still sold out almost every game.
@WEGSxIRISH You will see many MORE hockey players up there and in the northern east coast. But when it comes to fans who are devoted to their team, follow the stats, and support their team like they would their own child, that would be SJ. Seto and heater inherited good teams with great fans. Burns and Havlat inherited a top contender team, with the most loving fans in hockey. it's called "California Love" for a reason. QUALITY over QUANTITY, don't hate man.
@getcrunked3 You guys only get the "State of Hockey" slogan because half your state is frozen lakes. Here in San Jose, California not only do we have the biggest Ice facility West of the Mississippi, but somehow under all that warm cali sun, Hockey is growing faster than any sport out here. Face it, giving hockey to Minnesota, is like giving sun to Californians. But us Californians can have practice at 5am and got to the beach right after. We are the best fans in the NHL with love for TEAL =)
@TealtownUSA sorry but no. u wouldnt understand on the count of you have never been to minny. up here people live and breathe hockey. it is a very very big deal up here. again i would not expect you to understand. but im not saying anything negative about cals fanbase. but lets face it. southern hockey teams do not have the fan base northern hockey teams do. like montreal;, vancouver, minny, detroit, chicago. you have no idea what the fanbases up north are like. hockey is a lifestyle in minny
@getcrunked3 I've been to Minny, Mich, and Buff, as well as ATL. The hockey players there don't love the game anymore than they do here. They may be more players, opportunities, and NHL logos, but the quality does not match. Never have I seen so much support for hockey in Cali, I've seen parents and coaches from opposing teams let opposing players use their equipment so they could make it a fair game to say the least. Everyone just assumes when talking about Cali. Don't argue til you've lived it.
@TealtownUSA i live hockey every day here in minnesota. i have been to fresno and san jose and not once did i hear a murmer of the sharkies on the street come up for hockey day minnesota and you will kno what i am saying. do u have a state holliday for hockey? no didnt think so...
@getcrunked3 Exactly Hockey here in Minnesota is what most to all of us love! we do not EVER like losing hockey to the off-season. In the streets during the summer you will see kids playing street hockey and just shooting with themselves. Which shows how much we love hockey here in the state of hockey. So not to be a disgrace to Minnesota on being a oh yes we are the best. But I would have to say here in Minnesota we have to most likely be the State Of Hockey.
@hockeyhippy06 yep! i play street hockey all the time in the summer! =) and of course we dont like seeing our proud time lose but we like the game of hockey not just the wild.
@getcrunked3 Plus Montreal/Chicago/Detroit are half of the original teams...how many years have they been playing? exactly. And we in San Jose STILL out do them, not by population. But by enthusiasm, love for the game, knowledge, and support. Facts kill: Only 5 Arenas hold less people than Hp Pavilion, and we continue to be the loudest. Look at the Cow Palace days, no one knew what the fuck hockey was, and yet the place was rockin, even though the sharks were terrible. No argument homie =)
@TealtownUSA i aint ur fuckin homie and minnesota has the best knowledge and understanding around. um do you guys have a state holliday called hockey day in minnesota where everyone is let out of school. and everyone meets on the frozen waters of lake mil lacs and plays hockey? if you walk downtown minneapolis st.paul all you hear about is the wild or gopher hockey. fact Xcel energy center was rated 3rd nicest sports establishment.target feild home of twins was rated number 1.
